It was my first time in Louisville and I saw that this place was really close to where I was grabbing dinner, so I wanted to stop by and grab a drink and check this place out. I'm assuming the area this bar is located in is the hipster area of Louisville. I'm not 100% sure, but having lived in Silver Lake (LA, CA) for a few years, there definitely was some recognizable symptoms of a hipster neighborhood. There's different sake beverages on the menu as well as a really solid, albeit small selection of whiskey (with more than reasonable prices too!). I ordered one of the individually packaged sakes and it was tasty. I got to look around and talk to the bartender a bit. He mentioned they had karaoke on Thursdays and are open to 4am (holy moly - so used to 2am on the west coast). I really wanted to come back, but was just so spent after dinner. It's a shame I couldn't hang out longer or just experience more of what this bar has to offer, but from what I experienced so far, a really great place!

I'd say if you hear of any concerts going on here, just go. You won't regret it. Unless of course, you really aren't a fan of live music. But, that'd be weird if you managed to find this review. We had a great time getting to know the team and hearing how Jubilee Field came to be. I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz and sitting inside the bar. The tables, lighting, paint, and decor have been designed around Jubi, their adorable mascot. Even the bathrooms are fun! A food truck, My Three Sons, is a permanent truck at the spot so you have food options and don't need to leave. Several patio tables and literally a field to brainstorm events here - while we visited there was yoga and a DJ, plus I've seen promotions for trivia on their social pages. I have had several amazing things from the food truck, My Three Sons, and this time went with the nachos. Super loaded, with that classic ball-park nacho cheese. The chicken on top of the nachos was super tender and juicy. I highly recommend their fried fish. I love the ambiance, with hand-crafted pieces from artists on the walls, ceilings and bars. The owners are very sweet and community-centric. And they are regularly hosting events and vendor markets on the lawn. But don't forget, their bar is open for regular business, too. I really love the spicy marg.

The fall walk takes place mid-September, usually the weekend after Labor Day. Since Monnik has taken over the walk, things have changed a little bit. But it is still great! Hickory Street, on either side of Burnett, is closed off. There are two outdoor stages set up and bands play all evening and in to the night. In the event of inclement weather, sometimes the performances can be moved indoors at Monnik and maybe Checks. Beer tents, food trucks, cake walks, pull tabs, good music, good people, good times! The other neighborhood bars get in on the fun too, with bands and food or drink specials at spots like the MerryWeather, Nach Bar, Old Hickory Inn, and others. One of the houses near the center point of the walk area has outdoor backyard karaoke. I love this event, I love my neighborhood, and I love my neighbors!

When I saw they were hosting a Love Island season premiere party, I knew it was the perfect time to finally check it out. Parking was easy - we found street parking right across the street, and there's also a reasonably price parking lot directly across from the entrance for after hours parking. What surprised me the most was the size of this place. It's HUGE! There are so many outdoor seating areas that it never felt crowded, even during a special event. Inside, there were two rooms with large TVs showing Love Island, plus themed decorations and drink specials that made the watch party that much more special. There were 8 of us and it was not difficult to find a table of us all on a Tuesday night. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. I was told the quesadillas were good too! (I had dinner beforehand but my friends ordered some food). The restroom I used was small but clean. Overall, Hauck's Corner lived up to the hype and then some. Now to my review; I've waited to write this review until I experienced it a few times. Now let me say, This Is Not Your Typical Karaoke. You perform with a live band and they are talented! So if you sing or not come check it out. Many venues to choose from, Jeffersonville River Stage; (by the way it's tonight) or Iroquois amphitheater and Wick's pizza at Goose Creek or New Albany In. Check the link for dates and times. By the way Iroquois amphitheater and Wicks and Iroquois- has tap brews with a semi full bar, plus Cheeser's food truck. All venues I've attended have clean facilities especially Iroquois Amphitheater. Kentucky of parking lots except The River Stage is mostly street. I will attend again. You can sign up ; on line or there is a kiosk. Side note; Iroquois had a few under 21 singers but none seen at Wick's. That's not a problem for me because everyone should have an opportunity to join in. I must say I will be performing tonight (just a little plug for myself from 7 till 8 as a warm up for the main show). If singing is your thing or just looking for something to do before heading out for the evening, come check it out you my find a little liquid encouragement will have you singing. Love the concept.
