I first discovered Hauck's Corner through an IG reel featuring bars with great patios in Louisville, and it immediately went on my must-visit list. When I saw they were hosting a Love Island season premiere party, I knew it was the perfect time to finally check it out. Parking was easy - we found street parking right across the street, and there's also a reasonably price parking lot directly across from the entrance for after hours parking. What surprised me the most was the size of this place. It's HUGE! There are so many outdoor seating areas that it never felt crowded, even during a special event. Inside, there were two rooms with large TVs showing Love Island, plus themed decorations and drink specials that made the watch party that much more special. There were 8 of us and it was not difficult to find a table of us all on a Tuesday night. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. I was told the quesadillas were good too! (I had dinner beforehand but my friends ordered some food). The restroom I used was small but clean. Overall, Hauck's Corner lived up to the hype and then some. We're fans of Hauck's Corner, so when a family member decided to have her birthday lunch there we were up for a repeat visit. Same process, order and pay at the bar. Then when your "puck" lights up, get your order at the pickup window. Like all restaurants, Hauck's does some things better than others. Their burgers are excellent. If you're into smoked wings (I'm not), they're very good. Served hot, crispy, and not soggy. The sticky ribs appetizer were also excellent. I decided to try something other than a burger and went with the Big Brisket Dip. Smoked brisket, caramelized onions, cheese, horseradish aioli, and a side of au jus served on a hoagie bun. I added a side of steak fries. Hauck's nailed it. An excellent sandwich and crispy fries. I had hoped to take half home, but I just couldn't put the darn thing down. My wife ordered Dirty Nachos. They were a disappointment. Queso drenched chips? Nope. Black beans? Few and far between. A touch of pico. We added chicken (it was shredded). Some dry cheese (not melted). And a spicy aioli. Not at all what was described. The dish was so dry I thought it was designed to encourage ordering more beer to wash it down. Oh well, every time at the plate can't be a hit. One of the best things about Hauck's is the fun vibe. Lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Tons of games to keep little ones busy. And very pet friendly. Wow! Just Wow! While in the area, we recently stopped at Hauck's for lunch. It seems that establishments typically have a vibe/aesthetic/visual appeal or great food, but not both. Hauck's came in clutch with both! From what I remember from talking with others, Hauck's was open from 1912 until 2019, operating as a dry goods/grocery store. The establishment closed in 2019 and was reopened as a restaurant and bar in 2022. From the moment we stepped through the door, the space and staff were welcoming. I was happy to see that much was maintained during the renovation, including original painted wall advertisements, the wooden floors, and the green wall tile. I love the eclectic decor, my favorite was a seating area that uses antique safes for cocktail tables! The place is huge with indoor dining areas galore and an expansive outdoor area. Food and drink orders are made and paid for at the bar, where you receive a buzzer. When your buzzer buzzes, you pick your food up at a back counter. The food is fresh made and there is something for everyone on the menu. I ordered the cobb salad and it was huge. It was loaded with grilled chicken, hard-boiled egg, avocado, bacon, cucumbers, tomatoes and bleu cheese crumbles. My husband got the Signature Burger and on my goodness, it looked delicious. He loved it. Parking is street side. We found a space about a block away. I know that we will be back to Hauck's, it was our kind of place. read more

This is a very interesting place. You order your food at the bars, then pick it up at the kitchen area. This place is expensive! It has so much seating. We ordered food and drinks and then sat for a while playing dominoes. No one ever tried to get us to leave , they were chill. They did ask if we were done with our fires we were slowly working through about 100 times which became comical to us. The food was very good. I got a salad and it was a very good size. If you want a great dining experience with a nostalgic flair dating back to the 40's, 50's & 60's I strongly suggest you visit Hauck's Corner in the Germantown / Schinitzelberg neighborhood of Old Louisville. It was originally a drygoods/hardware/grocery store that dates back to 1912. In 2022 it was transformed into a restaurant but kept its eclectic appeal as evidenced by the attached photos. You order your food at the bar and wait for your hand-held buzzer to light up signalling your food is ready. You go to another section of the establishment to procure it. My wife's cobb salad could have fed a family of three. I had the signature burger that required dislocating my jaw to take a bite! The home-made onions rings were also a great choice. There is also an attached pizzeria and playground area for children and pets. I rarely give out 5 stars but this place is definitely one. The only drawback is trying to find parking in the surrounding neighborhood; but well worth it. read more

This is my fourth time visiting Haucks and my opinion on the food hasn't changed. It's just not that great. This time I ordered the Firebird with queso mac & cheese, my partner ordered the Toast Malone with fries. Nothing stood out flavor wise, the burgers were bland and the mac and cheese was watery. My partner said, "if I had a few more beers this food might taste pretty good". The atmosphere of this restaurant is why I continue to come back with newbies. The old carnival rides, Ronald McDonald statue and box of crayons hanging from the roof really add charm and character. There's tons of seating (inside and out) from iron chairs, to swings, to bar tables. They have a board game shelf too. You order at the bar and pick up at the food truck window. If you're coming with little ones they have an outdoor play area that's fenced in (a nice plus). My family of 4 met for lunch on a Saturday. No issue to find a table, either inside or outside, and some is in between with garage doors open to the patio. Fairly robust menu to meet most expectations for pub grub. Menus are at the table and you order at the bar. Water tanks are available. A bit warm so ask for a cup of ice. Hauck's burgers, Chicken sandwiches / BLT, fries, onion rings, and mac and cheese were consumed. I'm glad we didn't order an appetizer. Highlights included the queso mac and cheese - it wasn't too queso-y. I also like the sweet potato fries with the siracha honey and onion rings. The cobb salad looks good here and I'm going to order it next visit. Plenty of drinks and beer. Street parking. Awesome patio area with unique seating and kids play area. What a hidden gem for families! We stopped by for a quick bite and playtime during our short visit to the Louisville area. Ample outdoor seating across the few eateries included in the space. We ordered Havana Heat sandwich, veggie tacos and Mexican street corn with 2 beers. It was a fun time and yummy food! Bartender Tim was helpful with beer suggestions and helping me navigate the space. Corn and veggie tacos were spicy. The playground was super fun for our toddler. Haucks is an insane institution in louisville that is not to be missed. I find it's my favorite nice weather hang in town with SO MUCH back outdoor space. But truly a wonder year round. The food truck outback is stellar. don't skip a classic bologna sando. But I adore their fried chicken sandwich. All around otherwise some solid on draft cocktails, beers etc. I would suggest an ubderberg and a grapefruit raddler combo. Plus, the dainty! This is such a fun spot. It's an old store that was on the corner in Germantown. They've turned it into a bar. It honestly feels like the jungle gyms of Louisville. You walk in and you've got the as expected bar then next-door you've got a game bar the next-door you have a sports bar. There's a connection to a pizza place a dessert place and a breakfast place. And the back patio may be the best spot to hang out. There's a random Marilyn Monroe hanging out. There's a Ronald McDonald sitting on a bench. There's toys for the kids and brides and rocking sliding chairs for the adults. We've been here twice for our book club, and it has been just ok both times. Drinks are pricey but tasty and smooth. I also appreciate the fact that they have free coffee. Really great place to hang out! Not sure if the demographic was college students and older? I saw a mix of folks that looked to be millennials. You order drinks and food at the bar then pick up your food at the back room. They give you a buzzer. It's a large place! Tons of rooms to sit in with lots of tables, a few arcade games, swing sets, and TVs. My friend and I both got Coke and some burgers. I tried the signature which had American cheese, caramelizad onions, bacon, and an egg. My friend tried the American: pickles and mustard, hold the lettuce and tomato. It's 2 patties so it was very filling and large! Was it 6oz? Maybe 8oz of beef? Not sure. Seasoned well and juicy! Not all that messy actually, but I cut mine into fourths. It came with waffle fries. Each one was crispy to perfection and seasoned. So good! Staff was nice. Someone came around to ask if we wanted refills and clear our trash. They even asked if we wanted boxes. I didn't expect that for a bar. The vibe is kinda hipster even though subcultures technically don't exist anymore. Slightly grungy vibes. They were playing rock music in the background. You're better off going to Chuck E Cheese where you can get something better to eat. The burgers are awful. They taste like some generic Aramark airport microwaved patty but with a toasted bun. My husband enjoyed his Where's The Beef vegetarian burger. $4 Bud Light draft. $6 Hauck's Pilsner draft. Bourbon selection is good with okay prices (not the cheapest but not over the top). You can pay over $100 for an old Pappy here, but there are better bourbons at lower prices...up to you. Bartenders very friendly. And you can take your drink to all the different bars because the systems are connected (and bartenders split all tips at the end of the night). Large outdoor seating area. We visited on a Tuesday evening around 5 PM for Happy Hour. The items on the menu with special pricing are all denoted with "HH" and there are plenty offered. There is an abundance of seating spots for whatever mood suits your fancy. Higher noise level near the front bar seating area and then quieter spots midway back in the "safe room", literally small cocktail tables are old safes. :) Finally, if one ventures to the back of the property, the outdoors open seating area is quite expansive and also includes the food truck pickup window. We had a beer and lively conversation while we waited for our carry out order. Street parking was relatively easy to find nearby for a weekday early evening. Ordered a Cobb salad and a patty melt to go, which we enjoyed later and impressed with the quality and flavor. Looking forward to return visits. The best addition to Germantown/Schnitzelburg in ages! Even when it is busy, it isn't too busy! The indoor areas are welcoming and comfortable. The patio and outdoor area is maybe the actual best? Yep, that. Food offerings have changed on and off, but I always have a favorite on what is available, and there is always something tasty to try (the brisket egg rolls?! I MEAN!!). You order at the bar where you are also ordering your drinks, you get a buzzer, and when it goes off you pick it up yourself at the permanent food truck that is located between the indoor areas and outdoor patios. I am so pleased they found a way to keep and preserve the ole timey painted advertisements that were under the siding found during renovations. And I love the eclectic feel of the decor. And I love the friendly staff. They are open on holidays or leading up to holidays for folks with nothing to do. They will turn on your preferred sportsball game if they have the appropriate channel or streaming service. I come here a lot and I do not see that changing. read more

This was our first time to eat here. We heard good things about it and our Grandson wanted to come here to meet for lunch. I was surprised that you have to go up to the bar and order and then pick up your meal when ready. There were no servers doing anything yet when you paid they expected a tip. It was one of those suggested tip things on the check out screen. You have to look real hard to find how to no tip or leave a customized tip. I didn't feel like leaving a tip if I had to do all the work. I'm really getting aggravated with the businesses that are starting to use this check out system. As for the food, it was very good. I haven't had a balona sandwich in sometime. The added fried egg and pimento cheese was a nice touch. The crinkle cut fries were also especially good. I don't think we'll return.
