We were in New Orleans for Christmas, so of course I had to make the trip up to Kentwood to see where my girl is from!! We heard about this museum online, so decided to check it out. Fay was our guide, and she was great! She knows Britney's parents, as she had a formerly owned a florist shop in Kentwood. She had also known Britney since she was tiny. The museum is very fan-friendly, as there were many items brought and left by fans to enjoy. There were several items they had brought from Britney's prior tours (Femme Fatale and Circus). Also lots of photos, including a collage that used to be in Britney's bedroom. The most interesting was probably the replica of Britney's bedroom, with all her former furniture. Pics of all things mentioned are attached. The museum was free, with a $3 fee to take picture with the white wings from Femme Fatale. We gave Fay $15, as the museum also accepts donations. There was more to the museum than just Britney, but I would say her artifacts occupy about 3/4 of the space. I highly recommend stopping by for any Britney fan!!

This is definitely worth the extra drive out of the way if you're a Britney fan! This little museum was awesome. There was about 4 rooms dedicated to Britney and each one was spectacular.

They also host other events like- a berry bash, summer camp, farmer trade day, pancakes and pjs, and ties and tiaras. I visited for Halloween in 2018 when my son was about 10 months old and had a great day! They had a pumpkin patch, face painting, pumpkin carving, a costume contest, a corn maze, a petting zoo, a jumping area for the older kids, and so much more to see! Then staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking. They also have an elegant space for weddings/receptions. It is truly an enjoyable experience for the entire family.

When we got there, there was plenty of parking and very easy to find (thanks to signs along the way). Everything was organized from the get go. Several other schools were there, but they had plenty of workers to keep things running smoothly. I wanted to share their mission statement I found on the website because I agree they are doing this: "Mission Statement To provide an educational, "hands on" learning adventure for families and organizations of all ages. To spread the love of the land and animals to all our guests both big and small, and instill the importance of keeping the American Agricultural values alive. To provide a professional, clean environment with emphasis on safety and dignity for both our guests and our animals." Liuzza was definitely hands on and educational. I especially loved all the fun facts signs around, and in general the setup was simple with chalkboard and burlap but so cute and creative. Definitely knew we were at a farm, but it was just more cute than rough and rigid. The animals seemed happy, the strawberries were delicious and plentiful for the picking! I loved the bus tour and mule-drawn trailer ride but could have honestly loved if they had told us more about the land and the history. Such a beautiful and well kept up place though! I was so surprised to see that they do weddings here! A beautiful outdoor area was set up for a wedding and there's the most precious, little chapel! Definitely a romantic setting for a wedding!! I would just love to be a guest for one here! I hope to be able to return on the open to the public days or even a special occasion like their Easter egg hunt. We were there for probably only 3 hours but definitely could have stayed longer. We fed goats, saw a zebra eating among all the horses, saw cows, an alpaca, a sheep, geese, but we managed to miss the pigs and bunnies. Must go back for those! The kids went crazy over the awesome slide built into a hill and the big jumpy thing (don't know what those are called lol). We definitely must return and so should you!!

She came across like an overly dramatic theater kid who couldn't dial it back. Her mannerisms and constant theatrics were cringey, and while maybe one or two stories had potential, the delivery completely ruined them. She would randomly go off on personal tangents (where she lives, her parents, and other irrelevant details) that had absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or vampires and added nothing to the experience. The worst part was her points system, where she'd give out points if people followed instructions or answered questions. For example, when we stayed on the sidewalk instead of walking in the street, she'd shout "10 points!" and point at each person while repeating it. It wasn't quirky or fun, it was just annoying. I wouldn't recommend this tour based on her alone. After our awful experience we tried another company called Nola Ghost Riders and I'd highly recommend them. They are located at the Voodoo Lounge off Decatur St, while French Quarter Phantoms is at Voodoo Lounge off Rampart St.

You do not pay online, you pay in person once you arrive for the tour. You meet on a corner in the downtown area of Laurel. The golf cart we rode sat 7 people plus the tour guide. We loaded up on the golf cart and off we went. We stopped at many spots including Scotsman General Store to see the items for sale and into the shop where lots of the Home Town show is filmed. The tour guide assisted with taking photos of my mom and I infront of the iconic blue Scotsman pickup truck. We drove over to the Laurel Mercantile for a quick visit. We got our photo taken infront of the outside wall of the store where another blue pickup truck is located. We drove around the streets lined with older homes that were revamped in the Home Town show. This was my favorite part hearing about the homes and work that went into them. We even got to see a few homes under construction that Erin and Ben are working on for upcoming shows. The tour lasted about an hour and we were dropped off back at the same city corner. This gives you a good incite of the town and a starting point for your further adventures while visiting.

It's entertaining and fun! It was raining when we arrived but they had raincoats for everyone and as soon as the threat of getting hit by a bolt of lightening passed off we went. The boats here are covered so getting beat down by the sun is not too much of an issue. Like I said it was raining when we went so the covered top protected us from getting drenched as well. We saw some gators almost immediately and that was pretty cool. They are almost tame out here and come to the boat when called to get a treat. We also enjoyed seeing lots of egrets and various other birds, a few racoons and lots of spiders and dragonflies. Our tour guide was very knowable and made a few corny jokes that the tourists and kids loved. We learned a lot about the ecosystem of the area. The tour lasted about 2 hours and was a great way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend this tour! Tip-sit in the middle if possible. That's the best view and if you're at the very front or very back you'll get swamp water on you for sure.

There is a lot of open ground between the rows of slips giving you a sense of open space. There is another campground section in the back where the boat ramp is with some space to park your vehicles with boat trailers. The facilities are well maintained. For example, the site directly across from me has a brand new picnic table which are more expensive than your average table since the entire frame is made from tubular metal to ward off termites. Each gender has three separate shower rooms available to them. Each room is lockable and comes with a toilet, a sink vanity, and a very large shower stall. The rooms are spacious so that parents can help their young children. There two sets of washers and dryers in that same centrally located building for the front campground. The rear campground has their own building with restrooms and showers. The dump station has a hand soap dispenser which is the first time I've seen that at a public campground. I camped in slip #26 which is located at the end of the row and has partial shade over half the slip all day long. The end of the row is next to the park boundary and on the other side is an old cemetery which makes for a quiet area buffer from any residences. After my first weekend, almost everyone else checked out and I had my row to myself. Located within the park is the historical Old Mill House Museum but tours were not available (mid June 2023) as they were currently doing repair work. There is a swamp trail boardwalk available for walking/hiking with periodic benches and a river view at one point. They have provided playground equipment and swings for the children. There are about 80 RV slips and all have water and power hook ups. There a half dozen or so with sewer hook ups. There is also a large tent camping area with no power hook ups. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within just a few miles of the park in both Madisonville and Mandeville.
