I ended up arriving a little bit early, like around 3:15 ... They took me right away and the staff was so very nice! I will certainly keep them in mind when something goes wrong with my car! First off I don't do many reviews and when I do they tend to be good. My goal here is to merely share my experience Fyi. For years Keplinger's was my go to repair shop. Conveniently located, very clean and impressively maintained. I'm an electronics technician by trade and do some minor maintenance and repairs on my own vehicles. I was concern with a clunking that seemed to be coming from the front passenger side when I hit a bump. When I needed other work I'd ask in a "by the way' fashion, if they would also check for the source of that noise. And every time they'd fix something for between $100-$130, but the noise would linger. I know noise problems can be tricky, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they'll get it the next time. Finally, after 3 or 4 years and may $700 or $800 I mentioned to the receptionist that over the years they never fixed my noise problem. She conveyed it to Scott in the back and he when off. Totally offended, like I insulted his integrity. Ok, at this point I'm not sure if they'd been bilking me or maybe it was repetitive misdiagnosis or incompetence, but I knew I needed a new shop. So, I when to Sears Automotive and they found it to be a lower control arm (worn bushing). Fast-forward to my next vehicle, a couple years later, my emergency brake wasn't holding the weight of the vehicle when parked on a hill. I explained the problem to Scott and he told me that was normal. Any automotive technician knows that without the emergency brake engaged the tiny transmission pawl singularly holds a large portion of the weight of the vehicle and if it should give (which it will eventually) you're looking at big bucks in transmission repair, not to mention possibly collision damage. This time I when to Carmax, they fix it, stating it was stuck, due to stubborn rust. $61.00. We'll, that's my experience. Hope you can gleam from it. read more

Think twice before you visit Keplingers.... I brought my car there for an alignment. They are a little higher priced than others but I always think you get what you pay for. I get the car back and now the car is pulling to the left. I immediately call and talk to the owner Scott. He insists that the car is done to Honda's specs because that is what they plug into the computer. He tells me that he drove the car and it drives straight. I said well I will drive it a couple more times and see (giving him the benefit of the doubt because maybe I am wrong). I take the car out to the straightest road I can drive on and the car pulls left. I call that night again to talk to Scott and he tells me that there is nothing more that he can do for the car other than drive it with me in the car to see the alignment and then put it back on the rack. He said be at the shop before 11:30. I get there right around 10:50 and he is out on a tow job. I don't blame him it's business. However they told me that I have to wait for Scott. In the meantime I took the car over to a service manager that I have known for sometime so I know I would be told the truth. He takes measurements on the car for me for FREE just to be a friend. 3 OUT OF 4 wheels failed To be aligned. Now I automatically think I have been lied to because I was just told over and over again the car is done to spec and it drove straight by Scott. I take the paper back to Scott and show him that obviously his tech did not do the alignment properly and I would like a refund. He denied me the refund because I left the car with the service manager, saying "We can stand here all day I'm not giving you your money back" even though he couldn't perform a simple alignment. The most unprofessional part of the encounter was that when he asked where the car was I told him I left it with my trusted choice because I have brought cars to him before. Then Scott says "well maybe you should just take your cars to him!" Very unprofessional, I brought my car to him in good faith and he did not perform his end of the deal. He even tried to talk down on the service manager immediately by saying he is lying and he doesn't believe any of it. The shady and untrustworthy part about Scott was that he wouldn't even provide me with the before and after measurements of the alignment. This is something that all shops do but his excuse was my printer is down. I asked him if he had the file because typically that would be stored on their server. Didn't have that either by surprise. Then come to find out by reading reviews he has messed up other people alignments and claimed the printer was down as well. All and all a terrible experience. Please think twice before you visit Keplinger's Automotive Center..... The before and after measurements attached are from my trusted mechanic. I have to write a review for Keplinger's because they came through for me today!!! My truck battery kept dying and at the worst time because I had to tow my camper!! I barely made it to Keplinger's from the campground before my truck died again! I literally pulled into their parking lot and drifted into a spot. Thank God I made it! I assumed it was the alternator and they took it back immediately and diagnosed the issue. It was indeed the alternator and thankfully they were able to replace it and I was on my way in about an hour!!! Sooooo very grateful and thankful as they were very busy at the time!! Although this review is late, we find it very important to us that we acknowledge a wonderful company. on August 31,2023 we broke down on Route 70 just outside of Hagerstown. As we are from out of town we didn't know who to call. With great luck the kind tow truck driver took us to Keplinger's Automotive Center. After checking the car it was discovered that we had a hole in the radiator which could be a very long time consuming repair. The four mechanics in the shop had all finished their jobs for the day, (it's now 2:45). All four jumped in and repaired our car, checked everything and sent us on our way after only 2 hours! The kindness they showed us along with the expert work done for "out of town people" was beyond anything we could have hoped for and the price was very reasonable, if we lived in that area it would be the only place we would get service on our car. Great Service. My daughter & I pulled in without an appointment. We had a low tire pressure light on in the middle of a long trip. We tried a convenience store pump without success. Keplinger's fixed our low tire pressure light along with checking each tire pressure and didn't even charge. We were on our way quickly. We tried to tip the person who serviced our car and he politely refused to take it. We left back into the mountains of western Maryland feeling confident that our car was safe. read more

They are always very open with communication and upfront about what is wrong and what the cost is for repairs. The prices at Keplinger's seem to be very fair and in line with other shops in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They keep you up to date with what is going on with your car and are always willing to answer any questions. The shop and lobby are very clean and organized. Terrible terrible terrible experience. I was referred to them by a friend so I gave them a shot. I came in for them to fix my alignment and they messed the alignment up even more. As soon as I got on the road the car was pulling left when I adjusted my wheel straight. He told me he couldn't provide the specs Sheet because the "PRINTER WAS OUT.... ". I called the owner to inform him of the problem and he discredited everything I was saying. He finally offered to look at the car himself and I show up before work and he's not there. I decided to take my car to a Honda dealership where they ran a test on my alignment and gave me back the specs paper showing the alignment was off (as I knew already!!!). Honda service manager gave me the sheet and told me to take it to them which I did. I ended up leaving my vehicle at Honda because I didn't want the shady owner to work on my car ever again. I took the paper back to Scott (the owner) and showed him what Honda gave me and he told me that they're liars and wanted to sell me on an alignment. Even though the service manager at Honda told me to bring the car back to Scott and the sheet so he can fix it... I argued with him back and forth to get my money back and he said "we can sit here all day but I'm not giving you your money back". Moral of the story: DONT COME HERE!!! The owner is extremely rude, conceited, and greedy. Didn't offer anything in return for HIS mistakes. read more

As college student with tight budget, but this store saved my car with reasonable price after do Maryland state inspection which my car failed the inspection, but awesome worker make me feel comfortable and trust them to fix my car. I had tires put on my Mustang, only took 45 minutes, which was pleasantly surprising. I drove on them for a good while at highway speeds and they remained quiet and smooth, so the balancing was perfect, which is something most tire shops can't do! Overall the workmanship is great, prices may be slightly higher than most, BUT you get what you pay for. When the time comes I will definitely have service done there again. read more

I used to go here for regularly scheduled service, however they told me I needed an alignment and new tires. First they tell me that only one size will fit my car and they are quite pricey, find out many different tires will fit my car and I get them cheaper somewhere else. Months later, my car is having trouble, I call them and decides before I even bring it in to have it looked at, it's a problem they do not handle, when it turned out to be something else entirely. read more

I work out of town and go home on the weekends. Unfortunately this past Friday afternoon my car broke down on Interstate 70 about 2 hours from home. I didn't want to have to have someone come get me or rent a car. I wanted to just get home. Keplinger's said if I could get the SUV there soon they would do their best. Initially they thought it may be a two day job but they needed about 10 more minutes to know for sure. I got lucky (sort of). It was a sensor that would take about 90 minutes to fix. They got it done within that time frame while keeping me informed the entire way. They knew my situation and wanted to help me out. They even brought the part out to show me what happened. The price was fair for all the work they did. Unfortunately because I live and work far from them I can't use them on regular repairs or upkeep because I certainly would if I could. I definitely recommend them if you are in the area. Barb and the guys were so nice which helped the time go fast. They were a bright light at a time that wasn't looking good for me. read more

All of the staff were accommodating and exceeded my expectations. While I didn't have any repair work done there, I would not hesitate to take any of my vehicles there for repair.
