Got a membership in an attempt to get Pokemon but thanks to Hagerstown Sams today (September 24, 2026) that was an epic failure; Found out that multiple employees took their "break" all at the same time in order to buy Pokemon; which just happened to be the same time the Pokemon pallet hit the floor. They are not giving the general public the same opportunity; Also there's supposed to be this "limit" in place but that was not enforced and they allowed people to loop back and destroy 288 Focused Fighters boxes. It must be nice to do whatever you want to do; I understand that they may not want people camping out of their store - but the last time they dropped Focus Fighters boxes I actually had an opportunity to buy them; having some random drop in the middle of the day for their employees and their friends and families more than likely doesn't seem like a Pokemon drop to me - it seems like backdoor activity- and i will no longer do business with this establishment! Why go to Sams when you can go to Costco? read more

If you took Costco and married it to Walmart you'd get Sam's Club. Basic Walmart quality and prices. Food court is ok. Generally I'd say that Costco has better selections at a higher quality. The one feature that has Costco beat is the scan and go feature on their app. I can scan each item from my phone and it generates a shopping cart. When I am ready to pay I can pay right on the app with any card I have on file. It creates a QR code on my phone and I can skip the lines and walk straight out the door! There is a scanner before the exit that counts the items in your cart and if it matches your receipt the attendant just waves you on. If they're is a discrepancy the attendant will scan the QR code on your phone and might rescan to confirm the purchase which is really quick. Word of advice. Remove personal items like purses, umbrellas or jackets from the cart before going through the exit scanner because the computer will count them as well and that can slow your exit. read more

I honestly don't know why I thought it was a good idea to take a road trip with the only purpose was to visit a Sam's Club...well there was a reason, but not one that should have caused me to drive this far to shop. I came here to do some massive shopping and honestly was just curious to see if they might have some items that I haven't been able to find in stores in Pennsylvania. What I think irritated me most about this place was that it was a huge hassle to get in here. See, there is a Chick-fil-a in the parking lot/plaza, and because people are all crazy about their food (not me) they forget how to function. Because of them backing up the drive thru lines out onto the road, there was a backup for traffic. I know, why am I complaining about that when this is a review for Sam's? Well, if you can't get to the business, that's a problem. Inside this was set up a little different than other Sam's I have been in. It somehow felt smaller, if that is possible. I thought it was missing item, but it had everything in it I expected. It was like an optical illusion. Surprisingly they did indeed have everything I was looking for and I just happened to grab everything I didn't need as well. Self checkout and I was on my way. read more

I just had a very big and heavy Instacart order from your store, which took me over an hour to complete. Thankfully every single employee I asked for help or directions was just fabulously helpful and pleasant, and for that I am very grateful! I wish I could remember the names, but there was a young guy stocking the frozen section who helped me find several things, there was a guy with a beard (Michael!) in the meat department who helped me find a few things including cheese, There was a slightly Older guy (like me) who also helped me find some paper products, and the woman at the checkout (Tori!) was very helpful in taking the load off and getting me through without extra stress. Haley too! She also helped me take two carts out to my car. And your pick up area is fantastic! What a lifesaver! I have been a member at Sam's club for many years. However today they have lost me as a customer. I was told by customer service over the phone that I could return a treadmill by Brandon. As long as it was within a year, I had to remove doors on my house to get it out and to the store to get there. Only be told by the manager Keith who was extremely rude. That he will not be taking it back because its over 60 days. Even though I was told by someone that they trained improperly that I could return it within a year. I asked Keith to provide me with his managers name and a way to contact them amd he once again very rude said no he will not. Then to leave. read more

Your store needs to enforce limits on toilet paper, I've seen customers on multiple occasions purchasing more than one pack. I've been trying to purchase paper for a month now and I've decided that if I'm unable to purchase some before my membership expires in February I will not be renewing though I've been a member for years. The emplyees were wearing masks (albeit some had on chin masks) but most of the customers were not wearing any masks and internet was not available to use my Scan & Go so I could get out of there quick enough after purchasing. read more

Sam's in Hagerstown has some of the worst customer service ever. Two of three incidents come to mind. Last year, I had to go late to Sam's to shop for groceries, and a rude employee tried to chase me out of the store because I was looking for something. Then, membership renewal. This happened yesterday when I attempted to check out and they said my membership was expired despite the fact I renewed it a month sooner. There are also issues with having things you want. If you use Instacart or another service, lazy employees tell them an item is not in stock despite the fact there may be a full stock of the product in question. I would recommend driving the 23 miles to Chambersburg and shopping at BJ's instead, as this Sam's really stinks. read more

I'm not thrilled with the pharmacy. I called yesterday to get a prescription transferred from San Antonio. For some reason, they couldn't do it by computer and had to call the San Antonio location. I came in this morning, around quarter after 9, and not only wasn't my prescription not ready, nobody knew anything about it. They tried to transfer by computer again and failed again. They said they would call again and it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I said, no, it wouldn't be because San Antonio is in central time. I went away and found some place to teach my morning classes and came back about a quarter after 11. This time I talked to the person I had talked to on the phone yesterday. She said that San Antonio had logged that they had sent a fax, but they did not get the fax. I would have thought that would have been obvious when trying to transfer it this morning. Apparently not. I was told they called the San Antonio location and didn't get an answer. I wonder if they factored in the time zone. Now, I am sitting here, waiting. I really wanted to pick up my prescription and head out of town, but that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon. Alright! They are filling it now! Rude rude rude tried to set up delivery for three family members for a death in the family all within 3 miles of each other wanted to charge me three $10 delivery fees and wouldn't even work with me on an arrangement. I want to give a special shout out to the Sam's Club in Hagerstown. I made a special trip to get toilet paper during this pandemic. I have not purchased any toilet paper since February I normally get my toilet paper from Sam's club I am almost out at this time. My mother-in-law who is on oxygen and cannot leave her home is completely out. I went to the Sam's Club today and the sign said one per customer I made my purchase and there were five employees standing together talking I asked one of them if there's any possible way I could be an exception and get an extra pack from my mother-in-law who was unable to leave her home. I was told my card may not let me but one of the cashier said I could use her card. So we tried my card and it worked and I was able to get a pack for her. I know Covid19 is affecting everything. But I went to buy a grill there on Sunday and wasnt allowed to buy it cause it wasn't an essential item. Says who? Maryland govt themselves has not classed Grills as nonessential. Lowes, Home Depot both are still selling them. I had this particular grill on my cart and at the register and Sam's Corporate had removed that number from even being sold. I get my prescriptions at the Hagerstown Sams Club Pharmacy and have been for years. They have always met me with a smile or understanding because they know I come to pick up quite a lot of prescriptions. I also travel 40-45 minutes to go to this particular Sams because they are familiar with my health issues and have even alerted the doctor when a new Rx contains something I cannot take and have saved my life "literally " a couple of times . So you see even though I moved closer to another Sams Club I will continue to go to the Sams that is familiar with me. I call ahead of time so they have a few hours to get my prescriptions ready. When I call I'm always greeted with a positive and sharp person with a wonderful attitude that's always willing to help. I will always go to This Sams Club ..Pharmacy!! And while I'm there I Always take advantage of the other things Sams has to offer! The clothes, the laundry soap, groceries, gardening, and better believe it they always have the best gas prices!! This is one happy Prime member! Just FYI: They wear mask at this Sams and require all customers to wear them as well. I've had my temp taken at the door. They have hand sanitizer posted throughout the store for customers to use.and, they encourage social distancing throughout the store to make certain customers feel safe. read more

The store is amazing. Every time we go to the store, the customer service is superb. The store manager Rich always goes above and beyond to be of service to us. He even has gone so far as to provide us with his personal cell phone number so that we could check in to see if stock is it. Everyone treats you like they are generally happy to see you. In the chaos and confusion of the times that we're in with the pandemic and the concerned for our health and well-being,it is especially appreciative to be able encounter this kind of service. Problem with Sam's Club is you never leave without spending alot of money! This is a nice Sam's club, I haven't used the Photo Development, Pharmacy, Cafe but the shopping area, Bakery and gas station are very clean and priced right. Lines can be slow and daunting if you go to Sam's Club near the "after work" hours. Generally I avoid those at all costs or you will be waiting FOREVER in the few lines they choose to open. Night and day difference if you avoid these hours. Their broasted chicken ($6) and take home ready ribs ($12 FULL Rack) are excellent for take home dinners!! I work an earlier shift and usually get there just after 3pm. Hot and ready dinner and in and out FAST! Bakery is wonderful!! Holiday treats, Special Occasion Cakes and Meeting Foods are all delicious and there is a great selection even for last minute needs. Seasonal purchases are by far my favorite. Holiday decorations, outdoor patio needs and BOOKS are a steal. My reason in the past for not shopping here no longer exists. You can now use just about any method of payment EXCEPT American Express which is my corporate credit card BUT at least I no longer have use a check or Discover Card. This store is ridiculous. They have scores of loaves of white bread. Who uses white bread? This isn't 1982. Meanwhile, they have no loaves of potato bread, despite promises of stocking it. As far as Sam's Club locations go, this one is pretty typical. If you're familiar with Sam's Club locations, the Hagerstown location would seem normal. They have a very large variety of foods, office supplies, health & beauty, and even a little bit of clothes. A membership may be worth the savings in gas alone; their gas is usually a bit cheaper than other local gas stations. I've noticed that this location is ALWAYS busy, so be prepared for that. If you don't like the crowds, BJ's Wholesale Club in Chambersburg is a lot less chaotic. As far as foods go, Sam's Club has a very good variety. For a wholesale club, their produce selection is pretty darn good. Most of their baked goods are also worth buying (especially the cookies!). I have noticed that they don't carry very many decent frozen appetizers. BJ's in Chambersburg has a much better selection. I also like that Sam's Club carries a few Red Lobster and Olive Garden products, all of which are good. Sam's Club also has a great seasonal selection that rotates with the seasons. A lot of their office supplies are competitively priced as well. After buying a Sam's Club membership, I doubt you will regret it! read more

The worst customer service for hearing aids!!! Make an appointment.....NEVER ON TIME! We had a 930 am appointment and it's 1100 and STILL waiting. Just spent $600 for an upgrade. My complaints are lack of selection and being harassed by every little Girl/Boy Scout, little league, book club, animal rescue organization in the area asking for a donation at the only exit door of the store. So I need to tell a cute little young person that I just spent my paycheck on food and I can't afford to make a donation. I would much rather pay an extra up charge on my membership and let SAMs divide out charitable donations as they see fit and let me go to my vehicle in peace. Also don't go to Costco......if you do you'll never go back to SAMs. Costco in Frederick is 5 stars...more selections, better tire center, better food in the cafe, much cheaper gas and cleaner bathrooms. My only beef with the Hagerstown SAMs Club is constantly being shocked while pushing their carts. Some days it is torture.

We shop at Sam's about once every two weeks, but we purchase bulk products for around 90days at a time, we fill huge dedicated meat freezer, fill up on OTC vitamins, meds, and workout powders, just an awesome place EXCEPT the "DISH" who absolutely drive me insane while I'm shopping, example down one aisle, "can I interest you...." comes no thank you, were quite happy with cable I say, just to come up the other side aisle to hear the same exact words AGAIN, note to DISH people no matter how many times you ask in five minutes the answer is no, IF some day I become bored or angry with the local cable company ill call YOU! Note to Sam's the only reason I wrote this is your competition is pricier however there are ZERO pressure salespersons! read more

The reset of departments and store hasn't been thought out. Can't find multiple items. Bread and paper products are located in areas that make tough to load a cart. I'm a small business owner and had relied on purchasing multiple items for resale and my business up keep. My biggest complaint is with the employees and lack to no customer service and actual not willing to help customers. The checkout clerks are aren't helpful and actually make it harder by not packing the low boy carts to keep items from falling off when leaving and going over the stamped concrete outside store. I have spoken to management on three occasions about my frustration with the store layout and check out clerk's and each time with a shrug of the shoulders and a sorry. I live between Sam's and Costco and have memberships at both. If asked I would always recommend Cosco before I would ever recommend Sam's Club. Poor customer experience! read more
