I've had to use the emergency room three times and have been very happy with the skilled service I received every time.

This place would be my last resort ever, if I had to choose to go back. You're better off going…read moresomewhere else. doctor C should just retire. I went in last year with the most extreme pain I've ever experienced ( I've been through 4 back surgeries) I know bad pain. Refused to do anything but urine, blood,ct. ( I know the protocols, my cousin is a doctor ). yes I know standard testing. I was in the waiting room in excruciating pain after trying to leave a urine sample. The sweet security lady helped me before a nurse would to get back to my bed. I ended up with a good amount of fluid sitting in my abdomen. Doc refused anything for pain and red flagged me because I had a narcotic and benzodiazepines in my system. Which by the way, I'm under a contract with my doctor for those medications. All they had to do was call and they would know I was telling him the truth. I've never abused a medication a day in my life. The pain was so severe that I Couldn't barely breathe, walk, move, was sweating and overheating profusely. I never go to the er. So that says some in itself. He said they could get me to a bigger hospital but the ambulance would take 4 hours to 3 days to get to me. Possibly 4 days. So I signed ama, had my husband drive me to memorial hospital in Bakersfield. Finally, got pain meds and actually had to be admitted to the hospital because it was so severe. So next time you have a patient come in. Call their doctor to confirm their pain management contract and actually believing them before assuming I was drug seeking. I. Was in so much pain, I almost passed out on multiple occasions. I've had some issues since. My husband said you need to go to the hospital. I said nope to you guys. I'm not gonna be treated that way. I've lived here almost a year now. I will never deal with this type of situation again. I also had to beg them to do a catheter because how much pain and suffering I dealt with to empty my bladder. I would physically almost faint from the pain and probably would've fallen if it wasn't for my husband and security lady helping me. When o got back to my bed. It was my husband helping to get back into the bed. Which by the way was so difficult due to the severity of the pain, nurse just stood there and stared while My husband did all the work to help me. Very uncompantionate staff and nurses. You don't get paid to just stand there while my husband does your job you're supposed to be doing. Why be in the medical field as a nurse, doctor or medical assistant if you can't have compassion for a patient. Don't they teach that on medical school, yes they do teach you that. I know this. My mom's a medical assistant, cousins a doctor, niece in nursing school, daughter a phlebotomist. When I told them, they were so appalled by how I was treated here. I also use to be in the medical field. I would never have treated a patient the way you guys did. You need to do better with being caring

I don't live in Ridgecrest so I called the number in spite of the fact it didn't mention it was a hospital number. I was told the Clinic was across the street from the hospital. I arrived on time to the Medical Office but all the doors were locked. There was a frail elderly man trying to gain access also. I called the number and told the receptionist I couldn't gain access to the building. She sarcastically said we have been seeing patients all day. I clarified the building was across the street from the Hospital and in front of the Marriott. I finally gave up and hung up on her. Someone else called back and gave an address of a street name I couldn't pronounce and certainly couldn't couldn't spell. She told me to put the address in my smart phone. I am a senior citizen and I can't see the screen of my phone in the sun. After driving over 2 hours to get to the appointment I just had to leave. This whole epic could have been avoided if they would have texted me an address and an appointment verification. The elderly man that was there also just left. Unbelievably poor patient service. I hope the Dr is aware the poor quality of the staff is preventing him from seeing patients

I've also had a stay at Visalia's hospital which was good but not any better than SV. Most of the reviews appear to be about ER visits. I've been there several times for myself and once with my 4 year old nephew. when its a true emergency ie. severe allergic reaction with potential antiphallic shock and in another case heart attack and dog bite, the staff immediately reacted. When the problem is just flu, stomach problems or in some cases people shopping for opioids they are triaged to the bottom of the list. The problem with most ERs is people use it rather than go to a doctor's office, creating crowds at times. It is understandable since many people do not have medical insurance and can't afford a doctor. All of which is a product of the USA's inadequate, expensive, profit driven health care system.
