I had an appointment with a visiting nephrologist with which was changed from the original appointment. The problem is the receptionist didn't leave a message. I don't live in Ridgecrest so I called the number in spite of the fact it didn't mention it was a hospital number. I was told the Clinic was across the street from the hospital. I arrived on time to the Medical Office but all the doors were locked. There was a frail elderly man trying to gain access also. I called the number and told the receptionist I couldn't gain access to the building. She sarcastically said we have been seeing patients all day. I clarified the building was across the street from the Hospital and in front of the Marriott. I finally gave up and hung up on her. Someone else called back and gave an address of a street name I couldn't pronounce and certainly couldn't couldn't spell. She told me to put the address in my smart phone. I am a senior citizen and I can't see the screen of my phone in the sun. After driving over 2 hours to get to the appointment I just had to leave. This whole epic could have been avoided if they would have texted me an address and an appointment verification. The elderly man that was there also just left. Unbelievably poor patient service. This hospital is a ripoff. Even as a middle class with good insurance I still can't afford to go here because everything is so expensive. To do yearly lab, Heather Stone charged me $25 dollars while the hospital charged me $80s. I had my baby over there and a yr later I still get this random bill for $700. It's kind of sad that many of my patients tell me they rather die than go here or that they don't trust this hospital. The nurses were very nice, but the doctor was horrible! Terrible bedside manner. Instead of pulling me aside to talk to me he proceeded to loudly talk about my issue in front of everyone in the waiting room! Then I got pulled inside a private room to sign discharge papers. Care, what care? My 92 year old neighbor sat in the same clothes she was transferred from John C Lincoln Hospital for 21 days. On the 21st day they gave her a shower and clean clothes at the time of discharge. According to social service Emma she passed all her cognitive testing and totally competent. Her toenails are so long they cover the top of the toe so she cannot get on shoes!! She cannot remember what she is doing or why and is confused in her own home. She did not remember to feed her dog. Follow-up MAY happen Monday but what is she to do until then??? Asked for referral for continuing care and was denied. They gave her flu, covid and Prevnar shots the day of release all at one time, even though her transfer records show she had already had them. Go there - no thank you!!!! Totally unimpressed with Urgent care. The triage nurse saw me for 2 seconds and sent me to Emergency. Didn't even take vital signs. I was there for a severe neck and back pain. I ended up going to the emergency room because the other two clinics had appointments available until 2 weeks out. The extra star is for the emergency room care. The PA diagnosed me with cervical radiuculopathy (basically a pinched nerve on my neck) This is something that could've been taken care of in Urgent care. The difference in costs as we all know is huge. Instead of paying $20 copay for Urgent care Im stuck with $500 copay for ER. Shameful. Be more caring. read more

Ridgecrest's regional hospital is horrible. The place is dirty and dingy. Most of the staff shouldn't be in this industry, as most don't care at all. When I came in two weeks ago on December 2nd, 2022, the visit took nearly five hours to be tested for Covid, and receive treatment. A women who came in before me was already waiting four hours. She watched the entire room be seen before her. She appeared to be in a worse state then I was. That's appalling. Later when I went to go pick up my prescription I found I didn't receive the antiviral as promised. Was able to get that after calling and correcting their mistake. November 4 2019 Was turned away by a "dr David" After we told him our son was vomiting non stop baby threw up in the lobby all over the check in office STILL he told me my son had he common flu suggested I wait 3 days!! I returned the next day around 2am with my son with no improvement looking worse they pump him with iv he's now lethargic and extremely weak they tell me the same thing to wait it out.. we stay a couple house we go home he isn't better starts throwing up more and more can't even take the smell of water couldn't sleep next morning we decided to go to kaiser like we should have done in the first place. Kaiser runs tests nurse feels his stomach and immediately suggest an X-ray... when I was at Ridgecrest dr do little David grabbed my sons hand that's it and made his judgement no xrays were done no one felt his abdomen nothing. Kaiser found a MASS blocking his intestine he needed EMERGENCY surgery!! They told us had we waited one more day he would have died!! he was septic when we got there he was throwing up bile! Kaiser found the problem within a couple of hours had my son ready to operate. Ridgecrest regional will be hearing from my lawyer. This review has been a long time coming. Love the town love living here but if you got something going on medically drive the 2 hours to kaiser. By November 7th my son was recovering thanks to kaiser. read more

I'm typically not someone to be negative but I had to share my experience and beliefs about this hospital. My father was admitted to this hospital after being flown out from Bishop. They tried to perform a variety of tests on him, which is understandable, but certainly not necessary and kept pushing even after the fact we politely declined just one, especially the one that had absolutely nothing to do with the reason he was in the hospital to begin with. Furthermore, the doctor didn't even know what my father was in the hospital for. Excuse me? He's the "expert." I was livid and so annoyed, angry, sad, and disappointed to the point I wanted to punch this guys terrible, unfitting goofy self in the face to give him a reality check that my father was dying. The nurses were alright I suppose. Compared to other hospitals we've been to, they're certainly the worst. I'm not exaggerating, this is in regards to behavior and work ethic. In regards to skill, they're hands down terrible considering my dad ended up with 8 bruises along his arms because they kept missing the vein when doing tests. Again, I am not someone looking to spread around negativity, I just want to warn others to please look elsewhere when needing a hospital because you will probably be feeling left with regret and insecurity of your loved ones/yourself. Some more information from a coworker, not personally myself, but she had an instance where her family member was misdiagnosed which led to some other serious issues... how can doctors miss something like this??? From May to April 2020, I took my father into the ER multiple times to have him checked out. One of the many times I had brought him in to be checked out started on April 16, 2020. He was running a high fever(103) over the majority of the weekend. Tylenol would keep it down about (99-100). He would also constantly take warm showers to try and break the fever. When we arrived at the Emergency Room on April 20, 2020, they had started their covid procedures & diagnosed him with Pneumonia and tested him for covid-19(the first test came back negative). I took him home and continued with the at-home care. On April 22, 2020, my father was having a very hard time breathing, and his fever continued. I brought him back to the Emergency Room as I knew something was wrong. He called me an hour later and informed me that the nurse told him that he has Pneumonia and that's how it is, continue the antibiotics and rest. On April 24, he had a tele-visit with his primary care doctor; I expressed my concerns about his fever even while being on Tylenol. He informed me if the fever did not let up by tonight to call him and seek further instruction; I explained to him what was going on and even while being on the Tylenol, his fever was not letting up; he advised me to take him back to the ER and that he would call them(The only Doctor (Dr.Frenette)actually to be decent and seem to care for my father in this facility). Around 10:30 pm, I again brought my father back to the ER. He was really struggling to breathe at this point; they finally decided to admit him to the hospital after repeatedly bringing him to the ER for over a week. On April 27, he was diagnosed with stage two kidney disease and wasn't responding to the antibiotics, and decided to retest him for covid(came back negative). On the morning of April 28, they finally gave him a diagnosis with necrotizing Pneumonia, and it was getting worse with the antibiotics. That night they were discussing transferring him out because he needed a higher level of care and did not decide to move him to the ICU until April 29. I was denied visitation to the ICU to see him multiple times due to the possibility of him having COVID (even though the test came back negative twice). Unknowingly on April 30 would be the last time I would see him as they transferred him out, and he transferred to a facility that discovered he had Valley Fever which is why the antibiotics weren't working. My father could still be alive today if this hospital had looked past the covid scare and admitted him sooner, seeing as someone does not just naturally run a 101-103 fever for almost a week with Tylenol just to be sent home every time and informed: "This just happens when you have pneumonia go home and rest." I went to their "Emergency Room" last week. The nurse kept stabbing me with a needle, while trying to find a vein for an I.V. She stabbed up both of my arms, before giving up and calling another nurse. They took blood tests and a CT scan. The CT scan workers were very professional and competent. The the Physician Assistant precribed me a strong antibiotic even though I did not have an infection. I was sent home with instructions to follow up with my doctor. I left with the same side of my face swollen, and my arms looking like a pin cushion. When you go to an ER, you are supposed to leave in better condition than when you left. I left in worse condition than when I arrived. I did not receive care. I did not receive value for my money. I may have to drive an hour and a half next time to get competent care. Ridgecrest Regional Hospital deserves ZERO stars! I took my mother in last Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 9:30am to the Emergency Room, what a joke! Me and my mother, + 1 other older lady were in the waiting room for the ER, I was happy, I thought we would be in and out... Nope, not the case! We were finally ushered into a room after waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room, once inside a male nurse, which was uncomfortable for my 88 year old mother asked why we were there, the usual questions, he hooked her up to the monitors, etc... Dr. Green came in, asked me a few questions as to why we were there, I explained what happened, he ordered a series of tests, within the first 30 minutes she had a CT Scan, Blood work, urine and EKG done, which was great... hours later, they gave my mom a saline drip to rehydrate her, followed by a small bottle of medication for a urinary tract infection. This process took 5 HOURS!! During the 5 hour time, I listened to all 7 nurses that were behind the counter, chatting about online dating, door dash, how cute the doctor was. I went out and asked the oldest nurse on duty if we could unhook my mom from the drip as it had been empty going on an hour and she was about to pull everything from her arm, the rude nurse wouldn't even look at me to speak to me and said, very annoyed by my request, that she would ask the doctor, another hour rolls by, I had to go out to the nurses station again and ask to have my mother released, another nurse came in and added the medication to the drip, which was done in a matter of 15 minutes, another hour rolls by, her regular male nurse just returned from lunch and tried calming my mother down... I asked him to please get the doctor and release us, finally after 5 LONG hours we were released. In my honest opinion this visit should have been wrapped up in 2.5 hours! This hospital is in dire need of management! ER's in other cities are more efficient and swift getting patients in and out. The last thing someone wants to do is listen to the nursing staff goof off, not to mention how dirty the ER was, black floors, walls dirty, etc... My mother was prescribed an antibiotic for her UTI, here it is Wednesday, May 31, 2023, we use a mail order pharmacy, OptumRX, which is usually fast and efficient, I called them this morning, they just received the prescription this morning, 1 week later! Hence this review, I'm so mad from start to finish this hospital sucks! Mr. Suver needs to be fired, get someone that is qualified to run a hospital...Efficiently! I will never take anyone to this hospital! I will travel down to Lancaster, Palmdale, Victorville, with drive time factored in, I'm confident that I would have had better results than I did in my hometown Hospital! Monday, January 18 after vomiting for eight hours straight, I went to the emergency room at the order of my specialist and out of fear for what was happening to my body. The Covid screener immediately informed me, as I entered the hospital vomiting non-stop, that I obviously had cannabis hyperemesis syndrome. I corrected her that I have suffered from cyclic vomiting syndrome, as well as multiple other chronic illnesses. I also had forgotten to take my medications the night before, which can lead to a serious vomiting episode. Along with the dinner I'd had, it was a recipe for disaster. She didn't believe me. I'm Weakened severely from the vomiting, walking was difficult and I was placed in a wheelchair. I was taken into triage by myself where I proceeded to have a seizure. The triage nurse asked me for a list of my medications but I couldn't figure out how to use my phone. The nurse saw nothing wrong with me. She didn't get a list of my current medications. She ignored the fact that I was showing any neurological impairment, despite a history of epilepsy and sent me to sit in the waiting room. I opted to go outside with my husband. Almost immediately my husband noticed that I wasn't making much sense when I was talking. I then began having a visible tonic clonic seizure. My husband got a nurse, and he was assured by Kerrie Patrick, RN that she remembered me from years ago and I'd be well cared for! As soon as the doors closed the kindness ended! I was rolled into a room, placed on a gurney, and not spoken to as pads placed all around me. I was handed a hospital gown and motioned to change into it. Some EKG pads were placed on my body, other things done very unwilling to me and then I was left alone. I recall having multiple seizures; however no one came! I lay there on a gurney seizing and being ignored. Dr. Anothy Cho came in and told me (no one had gotten a medication list from me or my caregiver) to promise to never use cannabis again or he wouldn't treat me. He KNEW I had Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome and there was nothing else wrong with me! I kept trying to explain, in between heaves....but he didn't want to hear what my specialists have told me, what my personal experience or current situation, all I was allowed to say was clear with each failed attempt on my part. I finally said, "OK, I promise..." I muttered frustrated and scared between heaves. At some point a nurse gave me 2mg of lorazepam and 8 mg ondansetron AGAIN . I had already had 2 mg of lorazepam IM at home and 64 mg ondansetron with no response BUT they didn't believe me. They didn't believe any of this is chronic and that any specialist would prescribe medications like that for home use. I continued to vomit, continued to seize. I was left unattended the entire time. I could hear and see (via a mirror) nurses having a great time laughing and enjoying each other at the nurses station! I didn't have a nurses button to push to alert someone if I did need something. The man next to me called for help at one point because he was worried me and my nurse yelled back, "She's not as sick as she thinks she is." Let me insert here that my brain thought I was dying! A body can't vomit for 8+ hrs, seize non-stop, and NOT! I was extremely dehydrated, no one was doing anything, and I was stuck! At one point, I felt the sensation of needing to urinate. (a common issue when my stomach has been spasming) I needed escorting to the bathroom and back. Kerrie Patrick, R.N. first guilted me just for asking, "obviously you're not that sick and don't need IV fluids". If they had bothered to collect it they would have seen what a small amount came out! As we were returning to my gurney, I was looking straight into the room our son died in. It's the first time since October 8, 2018. Tears began streaming down my face. I saw Sean laying there dead of an overdose all over again. Kerrie Patrick, RN asked why I was crying and I said my son had died in that room. She asked his name, to which I answered, "Sean Tanner". She responded, "Well, you're lucky we didn't put you in that room." I'm guessing about an hour passed before I was finally given an injection of haloperidol. It worked almost immediately. Why was I denied this for the past two hours? Better yet, why was I denied IV fluids? I was told by my specialist I HAD to get IV fluids which is why I came to the ER! He was emailing me while I was there that I needed them! I kept asking, "Why can't I just have IV fluids? I was told "You do not deserve nor do you need fluids. We aren't here for your wants." How is IV fluids for someone that's been vomiting NONSTOP for 10 hrs and is now, also, experiencing epileptic seizures a WANT? I was handed a sponge with some water in it 10 mins before I was released! read more

The hospital is great! I had a surgery here and the anesthesiologist was wonderful! I decided to get a block. ( I never got any pain meds for delivery I was always too late, not here) the surgery went well and I had almost 0 pain I found out the block helps with pain for 24hrs. The surgery center on the lot is great too! Now look at my ER review I guess I can't post an ER review they let my husband sit without cleaning a gash on his leg. I told him that's ridiculous demand they clean it. He did and they called the security of course they cleaned it then! I couldn't drive do to foot surgery. He was there all night. Guess what it got infected, he was on so many antibiotics he got C Dif our dr said it looked like a first year Med student stitched him up. This was before Thanksgiving. His leg healed sort of in 7 months!!! Had to go twice to ER because the drs office was closed. Before this I cut the top of my hand.I sat there all night without them cleaning it. On woman had a migraine, cuts should come before this others had minor things too. One woman who cane in later moaned the whole time after I came in. I had steri stripped my injury. When I finally saw the dr the next morning they had a tray with a sterile bottle of water but she used tap water to clean it and put steri strips on sent me home. Again my doctor said I was lucky I could have lost my hand and I needed stitches. He of course prescribed antibiotics which the dr didn't! The triage here is terrible!!!! They let that woman sit for a long time before taking her to triage! Cuts need to be cleaned right away as my husband was finally ex rayed to see if wood was left in his leg! You can't wait for stitches! If it needed to be left open it should have been cleaned and bandaged. Still looks bad too! A girl said her mom works there and she see would take her there unless she was bleeding out. I would have taken my husband somewhere else if I could have driven. You might as well since you'll wait long enough to go to Loma Linda and back!!!! read more

I went into their urgent care for a fractured finger and ended up needing surgery for a bone graph. Everything from the first apt to pre-op and surgery every single staff member I came across was so friendly, caring and professional. I couldn't be happier with my experience. This review has to do with community and character than it does about the hospital services. I have to give a huge level of praise to RRH for what they do for the community. Outside of their outreach programs, they also routinely offer financial assistance. Several years ago RRH donated 3 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the school district. Each unit is over $1,000, yet there was no hesitation. In addition to this large donation they also donated a large amount of money to the high school baseball program. The level of contributions and their continued community support speaks highly of the people in charge. My family is completely done with this Hospital. The next time we have an emergency we will drive to Lone Pine or Adelanto to be seen. We were first referred here by our Primary Care manager when my wife got pregnant with our son. When we went to our first appointment with the OB GYN and had an ultrasound done the OB said that our pregnancy was not viable and that she could schedule us a routine to have it removed for later in the week. It's a good thing we didn't listen to her because we now have a happy healthy 5 month old baby boy. When my son was 3 months old, we had to take him to the emergency room. We had a relatively short wait time with him of about 2 hours, but it was the three hours of the ER doctor doing absolutely nothing to help our son, even though he did come and check on him several times, it was his unwillingness to call in the on call pediatrician to look at our son after he was the one who suggested that a pediatrician look at him. We had such a bad experience with this ER doctor being unhelpful that we chose speak to the patient advocate at the hospital and we explained how he felt and what had happened. She assured us that the hospital's Chief Operating Officer takes great care in every case that comes across their desk, and that we should have a resolution in a week or two. We received notification by mail when they had opened the case and received a second notification by mail in about two and a half weeks stating that the case has been resolved. The resolution that they had given was that based on our experience and the experiences of others that particular ER doctor would no longer be working at the hospital after the end of the month. Surprise surprise, it has been two and a half months since we were last here with my son and now my wife is at the ER for gallstones causing her so much pain that she can't function or keep down food. On top of the ludicrous wait time of five and a half hours to be seen by an ER doctor, by the time she was taken back to an ER bed it was changing to the night shift... And lo and behold who is the doctor on call at the ER tonight? Why it's the same doctor that we were told was no longer going to be working here. I am tired of this Hospital and their constant lack of empathy and care for their ER patients, and I will be making an official report to my insurance company about this facility. I will not tolerate being lied to by the administration of this Hospital, and the absolutely abhorrent treatment we received when we asked to speak to the chief nurse on the shift. The positive note I can make is that I want to give a shout out to Dr Burichen in the OB office. After are terrible experience with the first OB she provided us with great empathy and her experience and help us to bring our little joy into the world. read more

Horrible experience... this emergency room is a total joke. I arrived at 1am with a bleeding head wound in the back of my head from a bad fall. The tirage nurse removed my towel and gave me gauze which did nothing. My wound continued to bleed until my husband went up to the front desk at 4am. I was taken back to a bed and the RN could not find an irrigation syringe to irrigate my wound. she made do with a small syringe which was totally painful. The doc came in and laid the bed flat, stapled my wound, and that's the last I saw of him. I could not lay back down because the bed never got put back up to an upright position. so I tried to hold my head up. I finally stood up. I watch the nurses get ice and have a Diet Coke and the security guard give a training. No one ever came to check me again. I finally said I needed to leave and walked myself to my car. I have heard if you do not have great insurance the staff will let you sit here until you give up and go home. The women in front of us with a obviously sick child gave up and left around 3am. As the other post mentioned go to Bishop, Kernville, Lancaster. No one why there in financial trouble. By the way, you will be seen, regardless of insurance. If you arrive by ambulance. They own the ambulance and made a mint off you from the ambulance ride. read more

Why even have an emergency room if you would rather just stay at home and die then go there and wait to die. Unless you're coming in on an ambulance you might as well just stay at home. From the very first day until she passed the employees were compassionate, empathetic and provided great emotional support. We have had a good experience overall with the treatment at Ridgecrest Regional. Our 18mo old son was attacked by a dog and needed 7 stitches. Dr. Stemmer was AMAZING! Our son also developed a respiratory infection and needed to be admitted an additional day. After 48 hours in the hospital I would like to give Mariah and Emily a special shoutout! They were his day time nurses in the maternity ward both days and they were beyond exceptional! Their care and service was above and beyond. They have more care and compassion for us and our son than I've ever experienced! Thank you Mariah and Emily for taking such great care of us and paying so much attention to our little boy! I wish I could give less than one star. This place is over priced and the service was horrible. I had my daughter here and it was such a terrible experience. The doctors didn't seem to care about the patients needs at all. I highly recommend that you seek service elsewhere. read more

From the CEO to the billing department this hospital sucks. Pricing is outrageous and care is what you would typically find in rural area. Just having blood test lab work done cost $750.00, with after insurance cost me $525.00. CEO forces the good employee's out and surrounds himself with people who have low experience. read more

We had a visit to the ER because my husband nearly cut off the top half of his pinky finger. They got us right in and a PAC named Beth Osweiler professionally did an excellent job cleaning out the wound and stitching his finger up. It has been 4 days and his finger is healing up nice. read more

The doctors are ok but the staff from nurses down are awful. I have never seen a more unprofessional ER in my life! Alarms left goin off while nurses bs with each other. My blood sat around for 2 hours. Sad that they took an oath to do no harm n really view it as just a paycheck . read more
