Horrible service department the lady that works there should be fired !!! She argued with me on the phone about a water element for my water heater told me she cant help i waent home I was in town 2hours away from home I explained what it looked like and what element I had she didnt want to listen kept talking over me I just bought camper and was told everything worked but found out things did. We had an appointment to take a 2nd look at a Fifth wheel we were interested in. Drove an hour to get there and were told, when we walked in the door, that it was just sold!!! We decided to go to Camping World in Cedar Falls and left with a better Fifth Wheel. Will never recommend Ketelsen to anyone!! read more

We had our awning ripped off in a wind storm on our 2020 Flagstaff 25brds. Ketelsens got us in right away, found a new awning for us and gave us options. Only the awning itself or the whole unit including all hardware. Since the hardware was not damaged, we went with just the awning. The price was much less expensive than I expected! And the completed the work in less time than the quoted me. I will use their device again. read more

I purchased a new travel trailer in 2017 from Ketelsens in Hiawatha Iowa. Living around 70 miles away we were a bit hesitant. However after 8 years of service and a knowledgeable staff behind them I am quite happy with our choice. I would definitely buy from them again. I waited some time before writing a review on our RV that we purchased and financed with Kettlesons RV in Hiawatha, Iowa. This was the 2nd RV we have purchased New from Kettlesons and in each case we have purchased the Warranty Plan. In both cases the Sales team told us the Warranty covered everything Bumper to Bumper, if it breaks or wears out the Warranty covers it for 7 years. Fast forward to 1 year after our Annual Trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We had some issues that needed fixed so we brought our RV in to be repaired, after the service was performed I received a Bill for approximately $900.00. I pointed out to the Service Representative that we had the Warranty which should cover this. She replied no the Warranty only covered certain parts, the Engine/Trans, the Air Conditioner, and refrigerator. I asked to speak to the Floor Manager. The Floor Manager, The Service Representative and the Maintenance Workers all told me the same thing, Yes, we have a lot of Customers complain about this issue, with the Warranty Plan being misrepresented by the Sales Team and we tell them not to do this, but they continue the Bumper to Bumper/ Everything is covered for 7 years. Now we had already paid over $4000.00 on this Warranty Plan, I asked to speak to the owner several times and He was never available. Think carefully before purchasing the maintenance plan. read more

Two stars well deserved. Sales rep was amazing, talked us through everything and it all worked out great for a used unit until it came time for what was needing to haul the trailer with my specific automobile. They were unsure, and said they would check on it. Put 4K down on a camper on Saturday, backed out on a Monday at noon. Told the check would be torn up and purchase cancelled around noon on Monday, by 2pm we received a text from the finance department we had been approved. Obviously the staff does not communicate well within this business. After moving on from that and thinking it was done, we purchased from camping world, no hesitation on what was needed to connect anything, and again no finance issues in and out of camping world in a few hours. On the way home from picking up our new camper for just a few thousand more my wife decided to check the bank account balances and noticed Ketelsen even after being told "our check would be torn up" and the finance guy being told "please cancel this as we can no longer go this route" still proceeded to pull the 4K. Claim is they deposited it on a Monday morning just hours before we backed out. Obviously had they followed through they would have asked the bank to please remove this check as it is no longer valid. In dealing with them to get this cancelled out they have suggested we reach out to our bank and do a stop payment and pay the fee to do so. This is ongoing of course but be warned, they aren't sure what they need to hook your camper up to your truck, and they aren't in any type of control of what is actually going on in regards to finances in and out of the company. Now we wait for the 7-10 days they claim need to pass before they can issue a refund. Do yourself a favor, avoid at all costs. I feel as if they hoped we didn't catch they ran the check. Attempted to speak with the general manager and was told they are aware of the situation and on the same page. So they failed on a cancellation, knowingly told me the sales rep should not have said the check would be ripped up but also not willing to fix it. Do yourself a favor, go with camping world. Staff is great, the tech that setup and got our unit and truck ready to go together did a great job. Worth every penny. read more

Made appointment for them to fix slide out bed on 2004 kz frontier. Brackets/ Roller needed replaced had broken also needed air looked at bc stopped blowing out of vents. It's a manual slide in and out. I drop it off Friday for a Monday 930 appt. I get a call at 8:18 am saying they don't have brackets for it but has a smaller one can put on for 375.00 that probably won't hold. First of all it's 8:18 am they don't open til 9. So how much effort was put into looking into it. Trying to get parts for it. 2nd why would I pay 375.00 for something that won't hold. Asked about air they said would look I called them back later rhey said dirty filter which caused freeze up it of course was thawed by then so cleaned filter. Told me price of 164.00 asked what price was for they said diagnose bed 74.00 diagnose ac 74.00 and remainder cleaning filter. Wasn't upset at diagnose ac and clean but diagnose bed when I'm the one told them what was wrong and clearly didn't try to fix or get parts. Kettlesons only want to work on newer camper. And I don't like that when you call to speak to service your actually getting a teenage girl answering relaying messages back and forth. I will never take camper back to them or buy anything from them. Very bad Customer Service. Rate this as a 0. But had to give a one on order to submit review. read more

I had them look at the AC unit on my 5th wheel. It had been blowing warm air. They said it worked great for them blowing out 55 deg air. I brought it back home and plugged it in at 6pm and let it run until 10 pm set at 55 def on the thermostat. The actual temp in the camper was 79 deg and it was actually cooler outside than inside. When I called back I was told it wasn't hot enough to test it. Funny I could sure figure out it was blowing warm air. They are either incompetent or scammers. Avoid at all costs. read more

They are not what I would call a business that wants to work with prospective customers. They wanted full list price with bare bottom line for trade in's. Called a dealer in another state and was not disappointed there. Would I recommend Ketelsen's......NO So I'll drive the extra miles and have a great experience, not a bitter one. read more

We chose Kettleson because they had the camper that had the particular lay out we wanted. Our salesman Steve was great to work with. We got out camper late in the season of 2022 camped a couple times and had some issues that needed fixed with warranty work so returned it in October. All the flooring had to be replaced due to nails coming thru and making holes, their service dept tried to convince us multiple times to put parts on that did not match and were not what we bought the camper with. when we spend 50k on something it's obviously because we like it and want it that way. Months later....Feb in fact they claim it's fixed and we go to go thru it and pick it up which is a 3 hr drive for us and the first red flag would be our door being held shut with the handle. secondly the damage in side is in fact worse then when we took it there in the first place for the 3 things that were warranty issues. I would be embarrassed as a company to even let someone see their new camper looking the way it did after it was there to be serviced. I would be embarrassed to know that quality of work was coming from my company and the fact that the service manager is getting by letting this happen is also very alarming. I was already amazed that she was trying to change the look and quality of a camper that was brand new by throwing together something mismatched just to get it done after I spent thousands and the fact that her workers tell me that she was trying to have them come out and convince me to go with it says even more. The next steps we are going to have to take are not going to be good ones but when I buy something brand new and take it to be serviced I expect it to get done and done right not to come back in worse shape. I bought a Lance in November '19. Since then it has leaked propane. I called and a technician came out. Discovered it was our oven slowly leaking. It took them a month to get us a new stove as they argued with Lance and Dometic as to who should foot the bill. 2 weeks ago it started smelling like gas again. Alarms started going off. Meanwhile we are in the middle of the pandemic. Ketelsen says the camper needs to be quarantined 4 days. Sure. HOWEVER, they want me to pay for the hotel room in the meantime. As if its my fault they sold me a piece of propane leaking garbage. I am currently looking up the better business bureau, lawyers, and lemon laws. Ketelsen is that FAKE friend. Terrible experience here. I took my 2013 Denali HD to them to have a BW turnover ball installed. They ended up charging me $100 more than they quoted. When I got my truck back, there was a 3 inch dent and scratch on the passenger rear bumper. I called them about it right away and they gave me the run around for 3 weeks. When I finally got them to look over all their camera footage, they claim it wasn't them. Not once did they call me back, I had to continuously call them even though they said they would call me. I'm only giving them a one star because they ended up refunding the $100 difference on the quote. I think it's their way of trying to hush me up since they know they were in the wrong but won't admit it. I was originally planning on buying a 5th wheel toy hauler from them to live in while I'm mobilized with the Army to Ft Hood, TX. I will be looking somewhere else and will never do business with them again. I will also recommend that anybody looking for a camper or to get work done go somewhere else. I have attempted to work with Ketelsen to buy a camper three different times over the last two years. I have been with a different sales rep each time. I tell them my must haves in addition to our price point. Typically what happens is they show me several units on the lot and do a search in the other locations and that is it. They claim they will follow up if something comes in that fits what we are looking for, however, that hasn't happened with any of the 3 people I worked with. My feeling basically is that they think that one of the units they showed me should be fine even though it doesn't have all that I need. It is almost like they don't want to have to do much "extra" for a sale.....like getting what the customer wants! I have searched myself on their website and have seen several units that were possibilities, but at this point, I am pretty much done. Will give my money to a company that will work for the customer. If they can't put the effort into getting a sale, I have large doubts about their support and customer service after the fact! read more

I want to thank Ketelsen 's for the assistance they gave me when I was in a difficult situation. I was returning from a trip with our 5th wheel that had been cut short because of my serious medical issues. We needed a place to drop off our unit and it was late in the day. I called Ketelsen and Gary waited after hours to get our unit inside the security fence. They also did not charge any storage fee for the extended time I had to leave it as a result of my hospitalization. I have used their services many times over the years and have found them to be fair and accommodating.
