I went camping here for a quick trip to the lake region. I got to try a few wineries and take in a concert at Point of Bluffs. I loved my site with trees secluding me from my adjacent neighbors. I biked all around the site and lake. The lake looked awesome for swimming, fishing and boating access. I saw several playgrounds for young kids. Each of three campgrounds had their own wash house. The one, near my campsite, was really nice! The campground was well maintained and clean. They allow pets but please note most sites don't have RV hookups. Price after fees was $36.25/night. read more

Keuka lake is beautiful! The state park has a playground, picnic tables, boat launch, and swimming area. We went in early November, which obviously is the off season and no one else was there. This was a lovely time to enjoy the view and take some photos (trying out a new camera haha). There were two bathrooms, as far as I can tell, and one of them (near the front entrance) was heated and had actual toilets. read more

Tip: There isn't a lot of shade here, so you might want to rethink visits on very hot sunny days There's a fairly large grassy area here that offers benches and picnic tables for sitting and picnics. Loved our stay. We were in Twin Fawns site 82. Plenty of room, plenty of grass and plenty of privacy. Loved the hikes through well marked trails. Lake is absolutely beautiful and park area is lovely and well maintained. Bathhouses at campgrounds were very clean and water was hot!! Will be making this an annual trip. read more

Although I've been camping my whole life, this was the first time I've been the one to initiate the trip and choose the location. Keuka Lake State Park was a great success. I was looking for somewhere we could camp and do some kayaking. This location looked great since it is right on the lake, and there is both a boat launch and a beach we could use to launch. In the end the lake was a bit choppy that day so we drove 5 minutes toward Branchport and launched at the Sugar Creek fishing access site and boat launch and paddled to the lake and back up the creek. It was great! Back to the park, we arrived after check-in but had no problem finding our reserved camp site (and checked in the next mornong.) The site was in great shape--clean, flat, and partly shaded. The park sells ice and firewood, but the aren't working past 4pm right now. If you need anything after then, you'll need to leave the park to find it. We reserved a site for a tent on the non-electric side of the Twin Fawns loop, which was far enough from the RVs to be nice and quiet. The bathrooms were great! They were nice and clean and there was an equally clean shower in the bath house. Overall, it was a great experience camping here and I'd definitely come back! read more

One aspect I really like about Kueka lake state park is that all the campsites have grass. At other state parks I've stayed at were mostly gravel and just dirt. Our entire campsite was covered in grass and was decently quiet because the park was not overcrowded. The campsites are also not too far away from the lake. The Rangers were very nice especially since I had to check in after hours. read more

We booked a reservation beginning of the year for a week to be near my daughter to visit. We cancelled April 28th because they could not say if June 5th would be open. We were still charged the booking fee and the cancel fee. After being on hold and finally speaking to someone, the fees waived. Now 13 days later...no refund. And this is all done electronically. My husband called today...the message said if it has been more than 10 days hold....for 45 minutes. Then when spoke to a live person, was told oh...that message is wrong...takes 4 to 6 weeks to electronically refund. Seriously...guess since New York ran out of money they are taking it from anyone they can. My husband said , don't you think you should change the message? Never again...we booked..with a private campground and will support them from now on. Footnote...Maryland state campgrounds open and some really beautiful ones!! read more

I stayed at this campground (Deer run loop) for 3 nights in July 2017 and liked it very much. The sites are very large and include a picnic table and fire pit. The official rules are 2 cars and two tents only per site, but the sites are large enough to accommodate more, I hope they change the rules to 3 or 4 tents per site. Parking for 2 cars is included in the campsite reservation costs. Many of the other sites also had a boat hitched to their truck. I picked this campground because I wanted something a little bit off the beaten path and was worried by some of the camping reviews I read of Watkins Glenn State Park; but if I were camping in the area again I probably would try Watkins Glenn just because it is much closer to everything. In miles this campground isn't far from Watkins Glenn, but you have to drive around the lake, which does end up taking a good amount of time. The closest town is Penn Yan (10-15 min drive) and has everything you need: booze, supermarket (Ralph's*), Walgreens, and a Dunkin Donuts. For the most part our neighbors were fine and the sites are well lined with bushes between sites, this was the most privacy I've ever experienced while car camping; you could still hear your neighbors, but you couldn't see them! The bathroom on the Deer Run loop was pretty nice, there were 3 stalls plus 2 shower stalls. The last stall is ADA compliant and has a toilet, sink, and shower stall with bench. The second to last stall is a regular sized shower stall. No extra charge for showers which was a first for me. Another bonus was there are a few electrical outlets by the sinks. Also located in the building with the bathrooms was a closet with a deep sink for washing dishes. I found the sink to be a bit low so I suspect it is also ada compliant. As for the lake and beach, it is easy to get to in a car, slightly less so by foot, but I was not temped to go for a swim. It looked okay but swimming is limited to life guard hours which start late in the mornings. If you are booking at this campground to have beach access I'd look elsewhere. Lastly, we stayed Friday - Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday nights were very busy but we were practically alone on Sunday night, so if you are looking to avoid the crowds consider a Sunday - Tuesday stay. * I preferred buying my firewood at Ralphs over the truck that stops at the campsites nightly as that wood was pretty wet on the night I bought it. read more

Great Views ! Sites private. No Covid-19 precautions with the Delta Variant rises in The State. Bathrooms need twice daily attention. Pavement in campsite loops are in bad shape. Evasive Species protection is non existent at boat Launch. People bringing firewood in. Not knowing if there bringing in pests. Agriculture areas surrounding park. Farmers should be concerned. I camp full time so I observe many State Parks. Also When you enter the Park Office. A Good Morning will do. An older woman who works there should work on. read more

Camping was a regular summer vacation for me from toddler stage to adulthood. My family and I have been to many state parks and really loved Keuka. I went twice as a kid with the fam and have now been twice as an adult with friends. When my family went, we had a nice shady site that we booked both times, lots of space and a sweet trail that lead to this awesome sand hill my siblings and I had a blast sliding down. As an adult, I wanted to replicate this fun camping experience with my friends. We got a group together, booked a site last summer and spent the 4th of July vacation living in the wild... well not really. We cooked like pros over the fire and spent the day at the beach. The weather was amazing during our visit so we took full advantage of cool water and the private beach. There's a raft out in the water to jump off too and lifeguards on duty. I'd recommend bringing water shoes or sandals if you can, it's rocky at the water's edge. The beach is a short drive from the campgrounds. I recommend you drive down because it is about a mile from the sites which are situated above the lake and it's no fun carrying all your gear from the site to the beach. Plus there's a full parking lot so it isn't a hassle. You could even enjoy the park, playground and beach for a day trip if you wanted. Several trails for hiking too. Some of the sites are better set up than others. I prefer the Twin Fawns and the Deer Run lots and got a site on the east side - sunny all day, cool and shady in the late afternoon. I recommend checking out the layout of the campgrounds on Google Maps to get a view of the actual surroundings like which sites are back to back and which ones are up against the woods. I always recommend the latter for more privacy. Buy wood when you get to the park. It's cheaper at the neighboring homes up the street on Pepper Rd who sell nice sized bundles for ~$5. If you can, do a wine tour along the lake. Heron Hill, Ravines, and Dr. Konstantin are awesome ones to visit. read more

We absolutely love this spot! Clean park facilities, great camping spaces, and excellent lake and playground access. It's also just a short drive into Penn Yan (see Penn Yan Diner), Branchport (see Branchport Hardware), and Abandon Brewing. This year's 4th of July trip was made especially pleasant because of our interactions with Manager, Bill Ferrin. He served at the gate all weekend, greeting guests, and was around and available for requests (including unruly guests) or just a good joke. That's exactly what a professional should be. We came here at the end of the day to eat dinner at a picnic table and play in a playground. It has a beautiful view of the lake and a nice playground with facilities. I am giving it four stars because you have to pay $7 to park and most Pennsylvania State Parks are free. But overall a great little park with a great location. read more

Walked the Keuka Outlet Trail. We basically had the trail to ourselves. Very pretty and easy walk to the Old Mill Waterfall which was beautiful. Great for bikes. read more

Campsites are nice. They offer you a little more privacy compared to some State parks. Bathrooms are kept fairly clean. Nice park with swings and stuff. Nice little beach. Walking trails and paved roads to bike on. Park staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to get firewood. Close to Penn Yan. Absolutely beatiful lake. read more

First things first....I would have given the park a 5-star rating had it been closer to home, had more shade in the campsites and had more entry paths to the bathroom facilities. 3 families and an elderly parent stayed at sites 42 and 44. While the sites were flat (we tented), large and well-maintained (think grass mowed etc.), there was minimal shade at both sites. Site 44 had a bit more shade than 42, but still largely an open area. We prayed it wouldn't rain as was forecast, and we were lucky. No rain. Had it rained, it would have been hard to protect the tent from any downpour. That's one of the few downsides at an otherwise great, well-maintained state park. Bathroom facilities are extremely well-maintained, especially for a state park when even private campgrounds can't do a good enough job. The facilities in our loop seemed rather new and extremely clean and well-stocked with toilet paper and HAND SOAP! There were only two showers in each gender though. The not so great part was that for a relatively large loop, from where were were at sites 42 and 44, bathroom was bit of a walk, especially if you had little ones and elderly folks like we did. There are few sites on the opposite side of the road, backing into the big open space around the bathroom, that had what seemed like intentionally maintained (mowed, wide walking path) paths behind a few sites. Though helpful and thoughtful, we felt awkward walking through someone's site, especially when the whole place was booked up. On our second night though, few sites cleared and we were able to use those paths without any hesitation. But before that though, it was "bathroom shuttle" service using our vehicles for the elderly and the kids who "really have to go now". We spent an afternoon at the picnic areas by the lake with a wonderful large playground for the little ones and easy access to water. Plenty of picnic tables, water spigots and bathrooms. Parking was close to easily carry in picnic supplies. Kids had fun wading in the water - that is UNTIL few ignorant, inconsiderate people let their dogs run around in the water (although there are signs that say no pets) just because there was no lifeguards on duty. Sure enough, few of the canines decided to do their business - both #1 and #2...So that's the nice way to stink up someone's fun! All in all, a great park that is well-maintained and worth the visit. I personally enjoy supporting government funded parks and this one is worth the money! read more
