If you like freeze dried instant coffee the Keurig system is for you. Received a machine as a gift and wonder of wonders, I can now make coffee with the same care and robust taste as the waiting room of my local mechanic or the nearest police holding cell. Honestly, drowned in ice, Splenda and milk it's not that bad but if you're a coffee purist who likes it black, it has all the complexity of a melted inner tube. Also, the newest systems appear to have an optical reader which renders the machine inoperable if you try to use non-Keurig pods. Nice that they have taken a page from the Gillette marketing playbook... handles are virtually free, blades are virtually larcenous... Thought I'd already left a review for Keurig, but here I am, starting from scratch. Dear Hubby and I switched from conventional coffeemakers to Keurig brewers about 10 years ago. Something about the wiring in our previous house would burn out appliances at a crazy rate. Plus, we'd had our share of cracked or broken glass carafes. I bought the first Keurig as a gift for DH so that we could offer a variety of flavors and styles when we entertained, which we used to do a lot of in that house. We ended up loving the reliability of the Keurig brewer. The first one developed a wonky issue after about 10 months. They replaced it under warranty, with a gracious response. The next one lasted about 3 or 4 years. Overall, I think we've owned four over a 10 year period, versus needing to buy new coffeemakers every year previously. I signed up for their rewards program, and ordered a lot of K-Cups from them. Free shipping and rotating discounts have made it easy to order online. I've cut back or ordering from them for 3 main reasons. 1. Lack of innovation in decaf flavors. 2. Uneven shipping experiences over the past year. Often had lengthy delays. 3. Got no problem with the coffee/coffee maker, but their customer service is beyond BAD.... My charge card was replaced.... I attempted to change it in my record, but it required that I call the 'brew' number. I did that and the card was entered. Next day I got email that it did not work. so I called, gave them the new number again.. and the next day same thing. I gave a different type of account and it also 'bounced.' Do not buy a Keurig, they don't last and are not repairable! I got a K90 model Keurig for a x-mas present in 2018. It lasted until February 2020. Approx 13-14 months of use. I am the only person using it and it brewed 1-2 cups of coffee a day. It was cleaned out every other month. It started leaking out the bottom and I tore it apart to find the leak. The Mini-Pump is spraying water out of the center of the pump by the electric section. I called Keurig's support line and I was told that they don't sell a replacement part and to just throw it away. Surprisingly I was disconnected by them before I could even say anything else. Very poor customer service. These are very pricey coffee makers and it is wrong to not be able to get parts. I bought hundreds of dollars of Green Mountain coffee over the years. I was always happy with their coffee flavors and not one complaint. The last order I placed was for 6 bags of ground Southern Pecan. Each bag stated it was Southern Pecan. Sorry to say it was not. I filed a complaint. The worst experience I've had ordering online. I ordered a keurig coffee maker from their website because with free shipping it stated it would ship in 1-2 business days and arrive in 3-7. Well after 3 days the maker has not shipped. I called customer service and talked to Juan and he told me NO the item ships in 3-7 business days (even though while I was talking to him I was looking at my account on their website where it stated 1-2 days) He assured me the coffee maker will be arriving soon. I was not happy with that so I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Lisa. She told me the coffee maker is on its way. I responded saying I was not happy and I wanted a refund. She told me once an order is placed they cannot refund me but since the coffee maker didn't ship on time I would not be getting charged and the order and it would be canceled. That last statement completely contradicts everything they had been saying as they had told me multiple times the coffee make would be arriving soon. I asked her about this and she assured me since the coffee maker didn't ship the payment will not go through. I wish this letter could have been written with better conditions, but unfortunately my experience with Keurig has been an absolute nightmare. I was so excited to buy my first Keurig machine and when it didn't turn out to be what I wanted - I had to return the brewer. Unfortunately, the return process of my Keurig wasn't going to be easy as this company does not provide a shipping label to ship the Keurig back. Thus, I spent around $90 in purchasing a Keurig and received free shipping to have it come to my house - but to get my money back I had to spend an extra $30 out-of-pocket at the post office. Even the people at the post-office were surprised they didn't provide a shipping label to return the item because literally it's just bad customer service. To top it off - I went to the Keurig site where I had created an online account and I looked up the return policy. NO WHERE in the return policy does it say that you have to pay for your own shipping back - this is probably because Keurig knows as other companies do that this is just awful customer service. You don't make a customer pay more for a product they didn't like - because then you lose a customer for life rather than just for one wrong purchase. I figured that although I didn't like the Keurig I bought that maybe in the future I would try again to buy another. However, now I feel deceived. It does not explicitly state anywhere on the return policy that customers are expected to cover their own return shipping costs and you would think this is an important detail to add as people are purchasing from their website. Thus, I do not recommend ANYONE to buy directly from the Keurig site unless you want to get swindled if you plan to make a return. The only options they give you for returns are basically keep a machine you don't want - or pay more to get the original amount you paid back. After trying every google search and fix for my Keurig Classic, which refused to heat, I finally gave up and went to the Keurig site and searched for answers. Unfortunately the wording is so strange it made no sense. What does " Lower the Cold Water Reservoir Lid" even mean? You can't lower it unless you mean to put it back on the top after filling the reservoir. So I called and waited and waited for a tech to come on line. When he did I felt like I was on a hidden camera show or gag radio. Open the K cup lid, lower it, open it again, now lower it. Now touch the back, is it warm? Now unplug it, Plug it in, open the K cup lid, lower it. Touch the back. Is it warm? Give it a few minutes. Warm yet? NO! Oh, it is the heating mechanism. But your warranty expired. ( I bought it less than two years ago) But good news, I can offer you a one time discount. Best price ever but you must order now. $99 dollars and free shipping. ( It is $85 at Target, and the web site offers the $99 deal with two free 24 coffee pods. Some deal!) So off to Target I go and guess what? When I plug it in and run the test and make my first cup I touched the back. You don't feel the heat. WHAT A SCAM!!!! Sadly the new one is much more cheaply made than the last. The plastic handle is much lighter and sure to break. But maybe that is what they are hoping for. Poor Customer service!!!! I ordered a large order of coffee from keurigs website on 12/30/2010. It's now 1/19/2011 and my order still hasn't even shipped. I found out that half of my order was out of stock after making numerous calls to the customer service phone number. After finally finding this out, I wanted to make changes to my order for items that may be in stock. The customer service agent said I couldn't do that. There is nothing I can do but continue to wait. This is incredibly poor service as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't recommend anyone do business through keurig for their coffee unless you are fine with waiting a very long time for your order. The brain trust over at Keurig decided it was a great idea to no longer let us use our own coffee grounds in the new Keurig 2.0 machine. I purchased my new 2.0 machine at Costco and set it up at home. I dropped my trusty refillable k-cup into my new machine and I was given an "Oops" message and a phone number to call. I called it and was told that Keurig is no longer allowing the use of anything other than their k-cup brand. Not even the Keurig My K-Cup will work in this machine. So, back to Costco this boat anchor is going. It is a terrible idea to restrict your customers. Sadly, I liked my old Platinum machine but now I will be finding another option for a single use coffee maker. First to be replaced is the one in my home, which is the 2.0, second will be the Platinum machine in my office when it stops working and the third I will be replacing is the the Platinum machine in our vacation home. Shipping is extremely slow. Sometimes orders take 2 weeks to arrive after ordering and processing. I bought my daughter a Keurig 2.0 as a housewarming gift and she loved it as it enabled her to make a carafe to take upstairs or a large mug to go. Now, they've discontinued both features, so she has this giant machine that can only make a single cup of coffee. If the price of the pods wasn't so heavily discounted when you order from their site, I definitely wouldn't, but shipping is so agonizingly slow that I often run out of coffee before it arrives and have to buy it from my local store. read more

I ordered an e-gift certificate from Keurig, advertised on their website as an "Instant Stocking Stuffer", for a Christmas gift. The e-gift certificate is supposed to arrive by email. I placed the order on Wednesday and still haven't received it almost 2 days later. I emailed customer service and got an auto-response. I called customer service and was told their "Instant Stocking Stuffer" can take up to 48 hours to process. UPDATE: over 3 full days and I still don't have my e-gift certificate. Tried several Green Mountain Keurig kcup pods from two different boxes. Same problem although would brew Sumatra from Starbucks. I immediately contacted them and was told once an order was entered it could not be canceled and once shipped it could not be returned. Auto-delivery program for K-Cups is horrible. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I placed my order and it took much longer than what they stated. I adjusted my auto ship to allow for the extra week it takes to receive my shipment, only to wait 10 days and not receive my coffee after I received an email stating that my coffee was going to ship on 2/27/18. I called them on March 3 to find out where my coffee was as I did not receive tracking for the shipment that was to supposed to ship on 2/27/18. He told me I should have my coffee in 2 business days! It is now March 7th and I still do not have my coffee, FedEx shows that a label has been created, but no movement. The company will not take it back and refund my money. They will only offer a replacement machine. Replacing a poorly designed and faulty machine with another poorly designed and faulty machine isn't a solution to a problem, it's just a waste of time and money. This company sucks. I began to create a profile on their website so that I could apply for the role. However, I decided not to proceed with the application due to geographical area and NEVER completed the profile or application and NEVER submitted an application. So you can imagine my surprise and confusion when I received an email from Keurig Talent Team claiming they have reviewed my application and credentials and are going with a different candidate but request that I consider them for future roles. Not sure how this is even possible seeing that I never completed the profile and never submitted my application. How can one have faith in a recruiting process with such questionable practices? To make matters worse, I notice on my LinkedIn account analytics that a staff member from the Talent department has been reading and sharing my articles that I write on Talent Management. Absolutely agree with other post like "Eats Too Much F", that Keurig has lost my business and those of all my family members because of their terrible marketing.... by forcing their customers to purchase the new k-cups. Evidently, their management came from the software industry. People who purchase a Keurig are coffee lovers (and tea lovers). Coffee lovers often purchase fresh beans and grind them, mix them, brew them. Tea lovers brew their own fresh tea leaves as well and can brew them in the single cup adapters. The original Keurig systems actually came with the adapters to brew your own grinds/tea leaves; third-party vendors also provided options for brewing your own coffee/tea. Then they came out with their version of the "New Coca Cola" ... the Vue. Where you could not use your standard k-cups! Now the 2.0 won't allow you to brew your own grind; use k-cups that do not have the "code" on the top of the each k-cup and that includes house brands like "Daily Chef" from Sam's Club and the Kirkland brand k-cups from Costco.Not a good move on Keurig's part. Like other posters, I am returning my 2.0 and will use my older Platinum model until it stops working. But for my motor home and office, I am going search out other options. Our first machine was great. It lasted about 5 years. Ordered a new one, which was twice the price of the first and it died in the first few weeks. Figured it was just a fluke, and switched it out for a second. Tried dealing with customer service first and got no where, so just returned it to the store. Last week tried to purchase the new Kold system off of their rewards catalog online. The price was $185 + 1,000 points. Only when you went to check out, the price showed $185.00 less $114.99 sales discount and the total was $299.99. I called to talk to someone and the girl looked at it and couldn't figure out why it wasn't using the sales price of $185 for the final purchase price, so she processed the order manually. I gave her my credit card info and a few minutes later I was told I would be receiving the system in about a week. Later that day, someone called to tell me that they were not going to sell me the Kold system at the advertised price because someone made a mistake and it wasn't suppose to be in the reward section. Then he told me that they were out of stock and couldn't sell me one any all. Today I got a call from keurig corporate customer service. She told me I could buy the item when it goes in the reward catalog but I had to pay the new price, what ever that turned out to be but to make it up to me she would give me a discount on one package of beverages (my choice). When I told her that her customer service for the company was very poor and left me feeling screwed over she hung up on me. I tried calling back, but I was told that corporate customer service would not take my call at this time because I was not being reasonable. I don't leave reviews, this is my first. I am just amazed that after all these years of being a customer and racking up thousands of reward points, I would at least get someone who would pretend to care. It is obvious they don't. I will be returning the new coffee system and go back to mr coffee. I'm done with keurig.
