Monday Oct. 12th I called to alert the Doctor that I had that experience over the weekend but was not able to reach anyone after several attempts. Tuesday I called and they scheduled me in the next day. I asked if there would be a charged and was placed on a brief hold. Upon the return to our conversation I was told " No charge as it is part of the post-op follow up, but if further testing needs to be done they will contact the Lions Club for authorization". After completion of the exam I was then told I will be required to pay contrary to the initial answer I received. I will contact the Lions Club ( of which I am a previous member as was my father) and suggest perhaps they should no longer recommend Lakeland Eye Clinic. The initial procedure was adequate but the follow-up communication was most poor. My cataract surgery was done by St.Lukes prior to moving to Lakeland.

Within one hour I get a call from their office only to be told that the physician will not be available on that date and the next available appointment will be in December. I was very disappointed due to the fact I patiently waited and to be treated as though I don't matter. The customer service is lacking as well as their timely communication to new patients. I would not recommend Lakeland Eye Clinic to anyone.

I had a severe astigmatism and terrible vision( almost -12 diopters), along with cataracts! Dr Mulaney made it his personal goal to get me perfect vision! I had my subcapsular cataracts removed and intraocular PREMIUM lenses put in and my astigmatism corrected. I now have perfect vision! I cannot express enough how life changing this is for me! Trying to make an appointment is a 1 star experience. They have an online option but don't…read morerespond. Phone appointments are routed through Winter Haven and I spent an hour between operators, referrals to technicians' voice mails and threats like "we only have2 appointments left but you have to go through this number" transfers. They should be ashamed of billing themselves as a great multi-city ophthalmology group with such poor appointment service. I decided to try a walk-in appointment and got lucky. No one in the very clean & comfortable waiting room and was able to be seen immediately which was a blessing after the phone treatment. (I wonder how many potential patients they lose?) Of course, the first question is do you have insurance rather than "what is your concern/issue?" Dr. Adam Berger is a great eye doctor, 5 star in the knowledge department.. Neither he nor his tech were particularly personable but they get the job done. You need to be quick with any questions because he/they are in and out, a plus if you are in a hurry a minus if you are slow to think. They don't explain as they go (even simple things like why 3 sets of eye drops or what does that test show?) But you will leave knowing if you have a retina problem or not.

From first time walking in I noticed a clean striking clinic with inviting atmosphere. Staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable. Doctor is understanding, explains exams with results thoroughly. From arriving a bit nervous to walking out with relief that my eyes are in good shape and experience was a pleasant as it could be. I just needed new glasses. Highly recommend!
