From the beginning, I repeatedly requested to see the physician, Dr. Perez, for my primary care concerns. Despite multiple requests over several years, I was consistently scheduled with the Jen the PA instead UNLESS I wanted to invest in aesthetics treatments. Yah it's Scottsdale, but I'm here for my health, not my appearance. While I understand the role of physician assistants, I specifically wanted physician involvement in my care and was never able to obtain it. (I still don't have answers from last summer's outstanding health issue because they truly don't care about their patients health). I also experienced ongoing communication and billing issues with the extremely rude front staff. On more than one occasion, I was told coding corrections would be submitted to insurance and that I would receive updated itemized invoices. The invoices never arrived. When I called for updates, my voicemails frequently went unanswered. I later learned that at least one bill had been sent to an incorrect address. My final experience was the most concerning. I had recently recovered from Influenza B and was suffering from what was later believed to be Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. I was in significant pain and visibly ill during my visit. As I was leaving, I was aggressively confronted about an outstanding $100 bill that I had previously called about and requested information on. When I attempted to explain that I had already been trying to resolve the billing issue, I was repeatedly interrupted, dismissed, and treated with hostility rather than professionalism and empathy. The girl rolled her eyes at me, shook her snubby pony tail at me looked like she wanted to hit me. I told her to just email me the itemized invoice and I'll pay it when I get home. That invoice also had an incorrect address on it. Go figure. The competence here is real high as you can see After sending a message through the patient portal about my experience to Jen, I finally received the first and only message from Dr. Perez himself. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the communication and billing concerns I raised, I was told that I seemed to "have a problem paying my bills" and was informed that I should seek care elsewhere. This was particularly surprising given that I have always paid my balances and had repeatedly attempted to obtain clarification before paying invoices that I had not received. It's not about the $100 invoice. I make way more than that by posting a 20 second tik tok, and I spend way more than that in 5 minutes on a round of drinks for friends. It's not the price, it's the principle. Healthcare is about more than diagnoses and referrals. It is also about communication, respect, and patient advocacy. In my experience, those areas were severely lacking here. I have since transferred my care to another physician and have received a level of attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism that confirms my concerns about my experience at this practice. Based on my experience, I will absolutely not recommend this office. For the record, Jen is nice and caring.. she doesn't belong there.

A word of sorely needed advice: less time hawking reviews online and getting bent out of shape for the poor job you did, more time acting ethically to the patients who pay far more than the 30 second visits are worth.

I was left with hypopigmentation on my cheeks and scarring on my chin and nose. I found Dr. Lal through a recommendation, and he has been the one guiding me through the remediation and healing process. He travels often for speaking engagements and he sees a lot of patients, so there can be a wait, but he is absolutely worth it. He knows exactly what he's doing, explains everything clearly, and will never recommend anything harmful or unnecessary. You can tell he genuinely has your best interest in mind. On top of that, he's funny, personable, and just has a great heart. They have billed my insurance and i have self paid without issue. I do book in advance because i want to keep things on schedule. On a rare occasion they have had to reschedule they have made every effort to accommodate. I rarely wait long to be seen but when there is a delay i don't mind. He is incredibly busy and takes such good care of me and my skin. Its because when he sees a patient he is 100% present and sometimes things take longer than expected. The staff is amazing mianni and yossana are the best medical assistants I have ever met in my entire life and I'm not exaggerating. I've gone to Morgan for injectable's and would highly recommend her. They are definitely the assets. The front desk people are really friendly and do a great job accommodating all the requests. I see Nikki the most and her efficiency - I'm sure its not easy being the main point of contact at such a busy practice but they do a great job The lobby is pleasant and parking is easy. I take the stairs but there is an elevate if mobility is a challenge. If you're looking for a dermatologist or need help with difficult skin issues, I highly recommend getting a consultation with Dr. Lal.

I first met with Mr. Lal for a vitiligo study back in 2023. My first visit was an absolute disorganized mess. I reported to the address I was given, but the receptionist had no idea who I was, who Mr. Lal was, or even vaguely familiar of a vitiligo study that was literally happening in that office. It turns out Mr. Lal was using a back room of affiliated dermatology to conduct this study. I assume he did not have permission. I worked primarily with his two medical assistance, who likely never attended medical school, as they were also the most disorganized "medical professionals" I have ever encountered. Mr. Lal was late to every one of my visits, which were at least weekly, sometimes more frequent. I waited for up to an hour at times, at his mercy, and he never made an apology once. Part of the study required using the Excimer laser to burn off layers of skin in the affected areas. It was obvious Mr. Lal had never used an Eximer before. He literally caused the third-degree burns on my hands. I have had previous experience with the laser, and in trained hands, it is not as destructive as it was in Mr. Lal's hands. I did not complete the study. I drove over two hours every week to be treated by imbeciles who had no business involving themselves in such a complex study. I bailed before the study was complete. I hope it caused a financial loss for Mr. Lal, as he deserves nothing for his incompetence.
