Kevin just finished installing our new replacements today, we couldn't be happier with results so I wanted to give a review before I forget. Our downstairs neighbor and us decided to replace all the windows in the front facade of our Edwardian building all told 9 rather large windows. We did our research and decided on using Kevin to make custom replacement insert windows. Their bid was lower than a competitor's and did a good job explaining how the tilt inserts work, so we went with him. After the windows were delivered we painted them ourselves and contacted Kevin to schedule installation in about a week's time. The installation only took 2 days for all the windows; first day was the actual install (so tye rooms were usable immediately) 2nd day was just putting on the trim so you would never know they weren't original. The craftsmanship is great, and they were courteous and tidy to boot. They also took care of applying for the permit with the city, which is a nice touch. I give Kevin 2 stars for being so very courteous. He came immediately when I called him and even went to a store for me to replace a balance in a sliding window. Unfortunately he installed the wrong balance and now (2 months later) I have a slider that has a broken mechanism, two broken balances and triple the expense. Kevin has been great to work with. Our lower unit got broken into when we were on vacation. It was very stressful thinking that there was an opening in our house for anyone to get in. So we found Kevin on yelp, called him and explained the situation. That day, he stopped by to board up the window and make our unit as secure as possible until we got home. When we returned to SF, we discussed various window replacement options. Since most windows require 4-5 weeks to order and we needed a working window in the bedroom while my parents are in town, he helped us nail together the broken sash and filled in the glass area with temporary plywood.
