My boyfriend had to get his Movado watch fixed as a pin had fallen out. I called mid-week and spoke with a very nice and informative woman who told us the watchmaker himself would be there on Saturday. We may have shown up a bit early and missed him however, my guy came out of the store grinning from ear to ear. Not only do he have his watch fixed and was excited to wear it again (that's a guy for ya), he wasn't even charged. He made the biggest deal about it for a solid 25 minutes. And said "I won't forget that kind of thing. I would have paid and the guy said don't worry about it." So in a matter of 10 minutes, they have managed to get and keep 2 customers for years in kindness and a willingness to help out. It just says "we are good people" and that is what I love. I entered the store with three watch's to be serviced for new battery's . The man , maybe the owner or manager instantly had an attitude .I have been through this before . Unless one has bought a watch from that certain store , said store is not interested in helping . So , this idiot comes out and has an attitude . He told one one watch would be have to be sent direct to the manufacturer . I asked why and in a high pitch voice he stated , he did not want ti ruin it . What ? I thought he has skills ? Okay , so then he takes out a watch I bought from Native Americans ten years ago , it is silver and it was tarnished . I said , as he took it out , that I was sorry it was dirty , then he had a bigger attitude and started being mean , instead of educational and helpful . Said he would not touch it . He could have been nice , that was all I wanted . After all , I am the customer . The women seemed very nice , this gent , I use the term lightly , is horrible . I told him off and left with my watches . DON'T GO TO THIS STORE ! That man has an attitude the size of Texas . He is mean and nasty . Plenty of other jewelers in the area . What an amazing experience! I started engagement ring shopping about two months ago at Kevin Edwards. From the moment I walked in I knew I was at the right place. The staff members were very welcoming and helpful, especially Alisa and the owner Kevin. Everyone was very supportive and patient and understood how hard of decision it was to purchase the perfect ring. After about a month and a half I was ready to make my final decision and they made the entire process easy and stress free (I'm sure the wine they offered helped also). I'd been shopping online for a diamond engagement ring for a few days, doing diligent research and trying to understand a good balance of quality versus cost, when I hit a brick wall - I had absolutely no way to know the exact size of a 1 carat diamond without seeing one in real life. So that's what got me to stop into Kevin Edwards. I said adamantly, "I'm not looking to buy, I'm just kind of starting to look around, and I was hoping you could just SHOW me what a 1 carat diamond looks like, just so I have some perspective." No questions asked - Marc brought out a few different 1 carat diamonds, all different shapes and clarity ratings, some set, some loose. He let me hold them and analyze each - even take pictures - while also giving me some exceptional knowledge on what to look for without once coming across as pushy. It only took a few minutes and I left with a thank you and goodbye. With that kind of friendly, knowledgeable service to someone who explicitly stated they were NOT buying, I was totally sold and went back a couple days later. I found a solitaire engagement ring I loved at Michaels that was way overpriced. But after seeing it, I had my heart set on the single cushion cut diamond. My mom and I went into Kevin's store on a whim (honestly I was worried that an independent jewelry store in Avon would scoff at our budget). I was really surprised at the comfortable and friendly, no-pressure atmosphere and described the ring to him. He said he could recreate it for $1k less with a similar quality diamond. This was much more in line with what we were comfortable spending. Not once did Kevin or (his daughter, I think?) try to pressure us into spending more or make us feel like they weren't interested in our business (this happens a LOT at other jewelers). Kevin worked with my fiance the rest of the way - I couldn't have been happier with the result. He found a gorgeous diamond and they set it perfectly in a medium-height four-prong setting. He kept his verbal promise on the price even though I think the diamond he ended up finding was nicer than he originally thought he could do at that price point. I had been into Kevin Edward Jewelers twice in the past to purchase gifts and always received great service. Last week I walked in and asked if they could look at a ring I had purchased in NYC. (I knew if I took it into other places, I would be told that it had to be sent out and the cost would be TBD.) The ring had a removable piece where I could drop in different stones. I accidentally put a stone in the wrong way and it was stuck. Marc worked on my ring for about 20 minutes trying to remove the stone without scratching or damaging the ring. After looking at rings at many different jewelry stores and not finding the ring I was looking for, my fiancé and I stopped at Kevin Edward Jewelers one afternoon hoping to view a Simon G band that I had seen online. I break a lot of jewelry. Some expensive, some costume, some not so expensive. Being that I'm kind of new to the area I wasn't sure where to go to get my stuff fixed. I googled "jewelry repair near me" and Kevin Edward's popped up. Which was great because my manfriend has bought me jewelry from them in the past. Each time I've gone the service and quality has been exceptional. They are SO NICE. And I'm not really a big spender. My most recent visit was to repair a necklace I had purchased at Target and the clasp broke. I really loved the necklace and went back to Target to buy a new one but they were not selling them any longer. So I took my cheap-ass, $15 necklace to Kevin Edward's and without judgement they took it in for repair, being completely respectful of the necklace's sentimental value to me. The repair was ready early and when I went in to pick it up I was told "no charge"! This has happened to me more than once now and they have a customer in me for life.
