This office Rocks!!! From the moment you enter, you feel as if you are family with the staff. The welcoming atmosphere and the ladies at the front desk make sure you are comfortable. The hygienists are all very professional and make every effort to make your time with them as comfortable as possible. Let me say that my teeth are very sensitive. I experience pain easily during routine cleanings. The hygienist I use is always extra cautious and is very careful that I don't feel any discomfort while the cleaning process is going on. Dr. Hansen is a great dentist. He extracted a tooth and I did not feel any pain during the procedure. He only needed to administer one shot of local to the nerves in my jaw. This place is great, the people are pleasant and they accept most insurance. If you are looking for a new dentist...you should definitely give this place a try. read more

Dr. Hansen and his talented team take care of my whole family (2 adults, 2 kids) with tremendous attention and kindness. They are great with the reluctant dental patients in our family, and (unlike most dentists I have visited) don't try to shame those who are, ahem, less than diligent about flossing. The absence of any upsell for tooth whitening services is also a joy. (Were my prior dentists trying to tell me something about the unattractiveness of my mouth, or did they just want the commission?) After doing a lot of research on yelp, I called Dr. Hansen's office to make an appointment and asked for details of my insurance coverage. The woman who answered the phone went above and beyond: not only did she take down all of my insurance information, she then told me she would call my provider, get my coverage details regarding costs (since they were out of network for me) and call me back. I've recently found this office on Yelp and decided to try since it has the best reviews and 5 star rating. I had fears about going in since I haven't been in a while to a dentist, however, the doctor and staff made me feel calmed and relaxed. I was really impressed with everything. From reception to the work performed, it was a top notch service . Very friendly, very thorough and stress-free. The doctor who treated me is a sweetheart, she is really friendly and super nice. I had some major work to be done and she explained everything in detail, really took her time and was real gentle and professional! I have been going to Dr. Hansen since he started his Park Slope practice and have always been so impressed with his professionalism, quality of care and his office and staff. I'm writing this review, however, to say that he is amazing working with kids. My 8 year old daughter had to have a cavity filled and Dr. Hansen took the time to explain the exact process of what he would be doing. He showed her the tools, the sounds, the numbing gel and even had her hold the filling so she could understand what a filling actually was. His assistant was wonderful with my daughter as well. I started seeing Dr. Hansen sometime back in 2002 and have had nothing but positive experiences with each visit. Every time I step into the office, it feels like I am with family and there is no better feeling when one is at the dentist! In July of 2014 I started Invisalign and then in September of 2014, I got a job offer that required me to move from NY to DC. I did move, but I did not change dentists! I have been coming to this dental office for over 10 years. Started coming when I moved to Park Slope. I subsequently moved away and tried a different dentist who told me I needed to have fillings redone on several teeth. I went back to Dr. Hansen and he informed me they had been watching those teeth for years and although it looked like they might have issues at some point, the problems never materialized so he didn't think it was worth drilling and refilling them. After that experience, I decided I'm better off making the commute from Greenpoint to Dr. Hansen's office than taking my chances with a new dentist who may be more motivated by how much money can be made from my mouth. read more

We have been going to Kevin ever since he joined the practice on Plaza Street. By we I mean my husband and I, my daughter and her husband and their young daughter. He is a wonderful dentist and his office staff is superior. It feels like you're a member of their family.
