I love this place. Employees seem actually happy to be working there and the atmosphere is friendly. I was actually asked which hygienist I wanted to see! She was the most gentle hygienist I've ever experienced. I started to doze off while she was working. I'm not kidding. The office seems efficiently run. I have never waited more than ten minutes. the hygienist cleaned my teeth, did x-rays, and evaluation of my teeth and gums; the dentist then came in to evaluate her findings and examine them himself. How can I complain about the cost of a dentist? They are all expensive. Twice long ago I had cheap dentists working for my insurance company. Their work was awful and their offices were dirty. Dentists need a huge amount of expensive equipment to do their work. This office might look slick with all the television screens and fancy toys for kids, but I had a an awful experience with traumatic results due to the poor dental work by Dr. Edward Lee. After going in for a routine teeth cleaning (where the job was adequate, though Dr. Lee could have been gentler), Dr. Lee aggressively pushed for me to get extensive work done with crowns that cost a suspiciously high amount that was not covered by insurance. Within a year and a half, all three crowns had FALLEN OUT. Not only that, two of them fell out during the week of my destination wedding in Africa. Even if the timing hadn't occurred during what was supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life on a remote island, I would have still been supremely annoyed at the decrepit job Dr. Lee did and the consequences. Upon returning from my trip I ended up going to a more experienced dentist in midtown and paying more (but not as much as Dental Arts charged) for new crowns. I would absolutely avoid Dr. Lee and Dental Arts in the future. I don't think he is very experienced. His abrasive bedside manner could be greatly improved. I dislike the way they push services to charge more and, most importantly, the quality of their work is deplorable. read more

I called today (August 16, 2023) to reschedule an appointment that was set for August 29 and was told they can't get me in until May 2024. That's NINE MONTHS later. This practice prioritizes getting new patients in the door--friends I've referred always get a first appointment within a week or two--but don't care at all about existing patients or their dental health. The check-in was efficient since they emailed out the intake form prior to the visit; when I showed up, they already checked my insurance and all I had to do was confirming my appointment. The technicians were professional and patiently did x-Ray and 3-D scanning of my teeth since it was my first visit. They did my cleaning. Once they were done, Dr. Fletcher came to check on my teeth. I was in and out for my appointment in under an hour, and my dentist was so thorough in explaining my issue and recommendations for a custom night guard. His whole team was fantastic. I came here for the first time for a cleaning and exam, although I was very hesitant due to the pandemic. Its a small but busy practice with a lot of staff, which made me a bit nervous when I arrived. Everyone was very friendly and the cleaning was thorough, although it took longer than usual as the hygenist seemed a bit slow and perhaps less experienced. On the other hand, the person who did the xrays was rushing and would barely give me a second to get the film positioned before rushing to the next one, making for some unnecessary discomfort. The dentist came in for a very short period and quickly answered my two questions with what felt to me to be generic answers. Overall, the office was clean and modern and everyone was very friendly. And I can't imagine the stress that they are under as they practice during a pandemic. But I don't think that I would go back for anything beyond a cleaning. read more

As a parent, I am shocked that Park Slope (of all places) has such limited pediatric dentist to choose from. Come on, I'm pretty sure the kids outnumber adults in this neighborhood. I've been bringing my daughter here for over a year and we've had such a positive experience. No bitchy receptionist. No long wait times. Everyone here is super nice, from the receptionist to the dentists themselves. The wait time is less than 5 minutes. Probably because they don't over-pack their schedules like an over-booked flight like some other dental places. (ahem...park slope kids dental care) The decor is warm, made to feel like a home. The equipments are new and they have freaking toy towers for the kiddies. Also, they have multiple tv screens mounted on the wall and one on the ceiling. It's perfect for distracting the little ones to stay put. Having my little one not stress about visiting the dentist is A+ in my book. read more

We went to a different group which gave us the same dental plan and only charged 200. The staff at dental arts are unrelenting. The dentists clearly show how they spend their money on their hype-beast toys that are displayed all over their office. I don't recommend this place at all. They do shit work and when we went back to get a tooth they worked on before that broke, they did an even shittier job. The staff charges you an arm, a leg, and your unborn puppy. Seems like I'm the only person to be put off by this practice. I moved to Park Slope from the West Village in 2013, but kept going to the Manhattan dentist I'd always used, due to a) liking them a lot and b) proximity to my job. When my company recently moved offices, I decided it made sense to finally find a dentist closer to home. (Via Yelp) I found this 5 star rated dentist. A lot of the other Yelp comments are spot on. The place is immaculate, the receptionists are uber-responsive/helpful, and to my untrained eye all of the equipment seems state of the art. The dentist himself was very professional and had a great....chair(?)side manner. Here's my issue though. At my prior dentist, and at the two other dentists I'd been to in my life, I'd always been told that I had naturally great teeth. Could I floss more - yes. Would they ideally be a little whiter - sure. But I'm 38 and only have one filling; very recently at that. PSDA gave me a full x-ray work up, and at the consultation, I was told that there were multiple issues to deal with. Allegedly (after pointing to what may have been very slightly different shaded areas on the x-rays), I had six or seven cavities that had to be handled in the coming weeks - with two or three that were "urgent" and would require immediate attention. The whole episode didn't sit right with me. I ended up going to a different Park Slope dentist (who I won't name here for fear of this post seeming like a plug - but they are another very well-rated local dentist). Their entrance area? A little more drab. Their receptionists? They had that New York charm if you know what I mean. The equipment? Looked like it was a few years old and well-used. But the dentist there and all his team were (are) attentive, professional and very friendly. The dentist looked at the same set of x-rays and said that there were a couple of areas to monitor, but otherwise everything looked great and there was certainly no need for any immediate/short-term work. I read this article today and it reminded me to post a review. Sometimes the ad cards sent to your mailbox work, and even more if a nice picture of the whole young smiling team is on the card. They are not open 7 days a week, nor 5 days a week, but only 4 days a week. Actually, 3 days a week (M-W-F) + some Saturdays. This makes a little more difficult to pick a date and time. Maybe in the future they will be open more days... who knows. In the meantime, make sure you are flexible! The place is clean, modern, and they give you those cool glasses to wear when working on (and in) your mouth. Wish I could keep them as a gadget though! And you can choose your favorite TV show too. I was happy to find a dentist so close by but very disappointed. Before my vacation I wanted to check my teeth which were sensitive to hot and cold. I called in and explained that it's not an emergency and I just need a check up. Luckily I was able to get an appointment in about 4 days. The dentist was very nice and pleasant. she explained what might be happening with my situation. And on the way out the after I paid $70 for the visit, receptionist mentioned first patient discount bundle which includes X-ray and cleaning. Without thinking I made an appointment in 2 weeks. A week later my husband had a similar problem so he called in and got an appointment next day morning. And the receptionist offered the first visit bundle deal on the phone and explained what it is. Which was X-ray and cleaning. So i thought wait a minute when I called in no one told me that there's promotion for the new patient? I had to pay $70 for the first visit and I had to make another appointment if I want the new patient bundle. If I knew, I would've made just one appointment for all so I don't have pay extra $70. This got me annoyed So I joined with my husband on his visit and asked dr about it but his response was totally underwhelming. Basically He couldn't explain why I wasn't offered on my first visit nor why I need to pay $70 more than other people And basically told me that he cant do anything about it. I was expecting a logical explanation or something not this kind of nonsensical response. This was more than disappointing and uncomfortable experience and no! This practice is a one stop shop. I came here because after 10yrs with my dentist , I changed jobs and had new insurance. Well I am super pleased! From the front office Ms.G and Ms. Angela all the way to the back with the hygienist and docs, top notch!! I also brought my son here. He is 2! He let them brush and floss his teeth!!! The other dentist place I had for him he did not like it at all!! Today I had braces put on , I had to come back a little later for bracket to be fixed. I had my son with me. MS. G and Ms. Angela jumped right in and played with him while I was being worked on!!! My son was laughing and having a ball "cooking" lol. Excellent place. You make an appointment for 3:00, you're in the chair at 3:00 provided you get there on time. I've been to medical/dentists' offices when you book an appointment for 3 pm but no one sees you until 3:45 or 4 pm which then makes you wonder "Why did I even book an appointment?" If you're a first-time patient you can fill out all the necessary forms online thus saving you time and the frustration of filling out medical forms on the first visit. The place is brightly lit, filled with friendly and professional people and you can watch TV in front of you or on a screen affixed to the ceiling which will help distract you as they are digging and poking around in your mouth. I am a big baby when it comes to doctor appointments of any sort. Crying, high anxiety, sometimes panic attacks... it's bad. So searching for a new dentist when I knew I needed some work done was not something I was looking forward to, to say the least. Thankfully my husband came here before me and had a good experience. So I decided to try it. I had a great experience with Dr. Eddie. I went for my cleaning / checkup with super high anxiety. He was patient with me and worked around my anxiety, but at the same time, was clear and up front with me about the work I'd need to get done (2 old fillings fixed and one serious cavity verging on a root canal), and let me know that the work would go much better if I could try to keep myself as calm as possible for the next appointment. I opted in for the nitrous oxide (only $40) for the appointment when I got the 3 cavities fixed/filled. It helped a lot with anxiety. Dr. Eddie was very accommodating and worked skillfully. He also spent a good amount of time at the end educating me on optimal at-home dental routines. I really appreciated the way they set up the environment as well. Super clean, well-renovated, two TVs playing HGTV in each dental room - one in front of you when you're sitting up, and one mounted above your head that you can watch while they're working on you. I never saw the dental tools as they are placed out of your view, and instead of the standard surgical-type light placed over you, they use headlamps to further improve the environment. read more

We booked our appointments using ZocDoc (we found them because they accept our dental insurance). Both of us really loved our experiences with Park Slope Dental Arts. Here is a breakdown of what we loved: - Excellent Communication: The office reached out prior to our appointments with the online intake form to save us some time once we got to the office. All we had to do at the appointments was sign the forms. Additionally, after my husband had his fillings done, Dr. Eddie followed up via email to see how he was feeling and to make sure that if he had an issues or questions to please contact them. - Quality Service: I really dislike getting my teeth cleaned. It's loud, it's messy, and at times uncomfortable and painful. Now I realize that I've always characterized my teeth cleanings by dentists who just aren't as good at their jobs as Dr. Eddie. I always figured there's not much that can be done about the noise, but Park Slope Dental Arts had TV screens on the ceiling so you can be distracted while you're laying down and getting your teeth cleaned. Also, in the past I've had issues where dentists didn't make sure to pull my lip back so it wouldn't get irritated by the tools or the cleaning. Dr. Eddie was quick, efficient, and painless with the cleaning. - Family / Prenatal Friendly: I'm currently pregnant and instead of getting x-rays for my teeth, they conducted an alternative method of taking images of my teeth that didn't involve radiation. When our kid is ready for the first dental appointment, we are definitely taking the whole family here. - Professionalism: My husband's teeth are really messed up. After completing his cleaning, my husband received a consultation for the orthodontic work that he needs. They never pressured my husband to getting the work done. Rather they gave him a detailed overview of what they recommended. They also tried to see if we could save some money if they billed the services differently to our insurance provider. If you don't have insurance and you pay up front they really work on making it less expensive. If you need to make payments that is possible too (but no discount). Dr Eddie has been my dentist for about 2-3 years. He and his staff are all very knowledgable, professional, and friendly. Dr. Eddie always does a great job of informing me of every step he takes during a procedure. I went in last week to do a root canal, and when making the appointment the dental assistant/receptionist told me that my insurance will fully cover my root canal. The day of my appointment I arrive I arrive and she tells she needs to talk to me about my insurance, saying that the insurance will cover my root canal, but if I need a crown procedure done, my insurance has a 4 month waiting period if I do need a canal performed. Like, why wait to a patient come in for you to tell them this information. She said I can either wait for months to get the root canal to ensure that I get a crown after if needed, or do the crown now and pay them $900 out of pocket to get the crown procedure done. She had to explain it to me a couple of times because I didn't really understand her and she me my insurance policy online to explain what she's talking about. Like, lady this is information you couldn't told me over the phone before I even came in, so I wouldn't come being surprised. She said I can try calling my insurance to ask if they waive this 4 month period, before I see the doctors but my insurance said they couldn't. My month was in pain so I waited to see the doctor anyways, the doctor ended doing the root canal. The doctor was nice,etc. but the receptionist:dental assistant clearly waited to make money off someone. Like why leave out information on what someone insurance won't cover and wait the day when someone arrive. She really acted like she doing me justice by telling me this information when I arrived. After the procedure I showed her my referral for my dentist that she didn't bother asking me for in the beginning. And she got an attitude with me about it, and told me we evaluated the world tooth, like I told you what tooth was bothering me. And she asked me if I wanted to get my teethe on the referral to be x-rayed by the doctor, so I waited in the seating area, a few minutes later she came back asking me if I waiting for something. Like lady, you told me to wait to for the x-ray, and told me I'm free to go, like she never told me to wait for the doctor to get x-ray. This lady literally wanted me to come in to make money off my insurance. You could've told me that I have a waiting period before I came so I can figure out what to do. read more
