I hired Kevin to paint the interior of my home two years ago and decided to hire him again to paint the exterior this month. Overall, Kevin's bids are reasonably priced, but he is heavily biased to use lower grade material in the quotes. Since I'm more inclined to use top-shelf paints and products to increase appeal and longevity, I negotiated with Kevin to include those products in the bid. My other comment is that Kevin has a tendency to "paint around" things that should just be removed. This includes things like lights, locks, cameras, doorbells, outdoor electric outlet covers, etc. It's probably easier, but it causes problems especially when those things get damaged or need to be replaced (and there's a weird different paint color underneath). At least Kevin communicated with me the four times I needed to remove & reinstall my door locks so he could prime, sand, and paint the doors. There are a few things that I want to call out. 1. I had some concerns about paint prep which I sent pictures to Kevin about. He initially dismissed my concerns, but was on-site the next day to ensure the prep was done better. 2. I went out of town, but I learned that Kevin was painting the main part of the home with a low grade paint (Ultra Spec) instead of the (Regal) paint I ordered. When I texted him about it, he told me that he determined my stucco was too rough and needed a base coat of this material before applying the Regal paint. He made it clear that I would get two coats of the correct paint at no additional cost. 3. He cared enough to find the time to spray paint over the lenses of all of my remaining security cameras including a $450 Unifi G4 Pro. 4. His team broke another camera (an affordable Unifi G3 Flex) with the pressure washer. When I texted Kevin about this, he didn't initially believe that could be true, but then blamed me for not removing this camera before his paint job. This camera hasn't been replaced yet. He did replace two of my sensor floodlights, but I needed to replace three more. 5. His team did go out of their way to fix some interior drywall/paint damage that I caused. 6. Shout out to Roberto who painted 2/3 of the house by himself. Make sure you review every last detail before signing contracts and final payment. In the end, the house looks fine, and I am generally happy with the end result. I just wish there wasn't so much drama to get there. read more

Kevin's quote was competitive, and he could start the work earlier than the other, so we decided to go with him. We had multiple siding repairs needed. Kevin's brother Marvin is a skilled carpenter. Marvin did all our siding repairs competently. He noticed our mailbox post being wobbly and offered to improve it. We accepted their proposal and added it into the contract. We had been thinking about having the improvement done. We were happy that Marvin could do it for us. Roberto and Aturo did most painting work. It was done well. This company painted my unit last year, now I find that the paint did not stick to the walls. If anything touches the walls like the lamp cord or picture frame, the paint will bubble and create a hole and the paint will start peeling off in SHEETS. A fairly big patch just came off today and there was a ton of dust on the backside of the paint. From what I understand about why paint doesn't adhere, I dont think the paint crew cleaned the construction dust off the walls, and maybe didn't prime the walls either. Just seems like they painted over all the dust and now the paint wont stick. This paint peeling is happening in every room of the house. It really sucks and I don't know what to do or how to fix this fiasco. This company ruined my house and the stress of this is immense. Wish I had never met this guy or this company.
