Fortunately for me, when I have shopped here, I usually deal with a young good looking male employee who is super helpful and is extremely friendly. He has been working here for several years now and always has a variety of liquor to sample; which is fun since the samples are something I have never tried before, hence turning me on to some new great choices. We recently had a party and purchased several bottles of liquor and mixers to fill out our bar. While making our choices the staff member allowed us to sample several types of liquor they had on special, ultimately, we decided on a new Bourbon, Vodka, and Tequila we never had before at a much better price than our typical choices. One of our bourbon choices came with a free 16oz can of Out of Order Sour beer, which I've never had before but was very satisfied with. Something that is also fun about this store is they have to-go slushy's for sale. The containers are sealed so you won't get in trouble for open container. They are a great way to start the party when you get home on Friday after a long week. The store is quite large and there is a variety of liquor, wine, and beer to choose from. They even have a decent cigar selection available. The store is clean and it's conveniently located off of 17-92 in Sanford. I've shopped at every liquor store in this area and for me shopping here has been the best experience next to ABC. I recommend them and will be back.

Additionally there's an ABC liquor in the vicinity as well. I stopped by today after passing this store on 17-92 a few times. Immediately on entering you'll find the cashiers station on your right, the wine selection in the center of the store, the beer coolers to your left and liquor lining the other three walls of the store. I walked down the coolers to the back and continued along the wall looking through the liquor's. At this point I realized I was being yelled at with increasing urgency by an employee. I'm mostly deaf in one ear and am often slow to realize I'm being spoken to unless face to face with someone. I had inadvertently walked behind an employee only counter that opens at the corner of the store were the coolers end and the liquor shelves begin. This was my mistake and I fully own it. I'm usually not the type to be so oblivious. Having said that, yelling at customers is never acceptable. All of the liquor is behind these counters. Why? Having the vast majority of you product out of reach of the customers in a manner that is not in line with other stores selling the same product is odd and doesn't lead to an easy or enjoyable shopping experience. It's inconvenient to lean over counters to read labels and require an employee to retrieve products. While the gentleman was perfectly happy to help me afterward, the jarring 180 attitude change and the other employees throwing out F-bombs (I have nothing against this but it's unprofessional in front of customers) while talking to each other did nothing to improve the experience. I am angry at myself for making a purchase here and not just leaving. There's several proper liquor stores nearby where people can freely browse and not be yelled at for doing so.

Kevin's corner store has become a local favorite in the Sanford area. There are two buildings here;…read moreKevin's main convenience store, which supplies all of your normal convenience store needs minus gas. Adjacent to the convenience store is Kevin's Liquor store. My wife and I frequent both locations weekly. The store is within walking distance of our home so it is a quick easy spot to grab a snack, drink or cigar for that fun night out on the town. I would say that Kevin's prices are fair market value when compared to other convenience stores in the area. There have been occasions where I have been able to get a bottle of Jim Beam or Makers Mark at a better price than ABC or Walgreens. On a side note, if you love Bud Light Platinum this may be the only place you can find it in a 12 pack or more. I am not sure why 12 packs of Platinum are so rare but if you need it Kevin's almost always has it. The parking lot can be quite active so be prepared to navigate around other people who cannot park, drive in general or just don't know how-to walk-in public. This is part of the reason we like to walk here but I guess that's how it is when your business is located at the intersection of French Ave. and 20th street in Sanford. The staff here are always helpful and friendly. The guy who is usually working in the liquor store is awesome at helping you find what you need at the best price. I feel is a great way to keep customers coming back. If you are visiting Sanford for a fun day/night out, stop in to Kevin's before heading downtown. I brought the 80 & 100 proof Rebel Bourbon to the counter to check out. The 100 proof is ringing up over $29 (before tax) and the 80 proof is ringing up over $32 (before tax); however, the tag on the shelf shows $21.99 for the 100 proof bottle and $29.99 for the 80 proof bottle. The clerk would not honor the shelf price which I explained to him was False Advertisement. Unfortunately I am not the only one having issues at this store. You can check for yourself on Google to see the many other complaints describing this same scenario. On my previous visit, they ran my card before I caught them because they we're installing a new system. This time around I could see my total price before paying. This store does have a lot of great liquor options; regardless, the cost here is much higher than just about anywhere else in Sanford. I ended up grabbing the smaller bottle of Evan Williams Fire which came to just over $18 when I could have gotten the same bottle at ABC for just over $15 or switched up and got a 1.75 liter of Fire Ball at Legacy Liquors for $19. All in all, if You do decide to shop here know that you will pay more and there's a good chance just about everything that you pick out on the shelf will not match the price when you pay at the counter so be sure to have the clerk show you the price on their computer before paying otherwise you may end up paying much more.
