My mother laid in the hospital morgue for four days before they went and picked her up. She was then taken. to an offsite location, per Adam , the funeral director. Adam informed us my mother would not be brought to the funeral home until the day of the service In 2002 when my father passed away, our mother had paid $13,000 she paid for his and her funeral so we wouldn't have to be burdened with the stress of everything. We found a receipt, but given that it was 23 years ago, it was faded, and you really couldn't read it. Adam kept saying that there was no record of anything other than the mausoleum that my mom paid for. The mausoleum already had my father in it so it was a double he said nothing for my mother service was paid for and the woman that handled everything wouldn't be back till Tuesday. (we never heard from her). They wouldn't go pick up my mom until they made sure they had full payment of her service which was $12,000 that is in addition to the $13,000 she paid in 2002. My brother who was in charge of everything didn't want to rock the boat because Adam told him he saved us over $6000. I would really like to know what $6000 savings he gave us. The hurse drove 500 feet to take my mother to the mausoleum charges. 800 bucks and and charge for a funeral car was also in the paper. Every little thing was nickel and dime. To have my mother's hair done we had to pay $100 and we bought the hair dye. Her hair was terrible and even look like how she would wear it. The day before the funeral, my brother received a phone call from Adam asking what kind of barbecue we wanted served at the service. Again this was a funeral not a wedding baby shower or bridal shower. On the day of my mother's funeral the "Chapel " and I use those terms loosely,, was set up more like a wedding reception or bridal shower with round tables throughout the room with chairs around when we open the door we were in shock! My sisters and I went up to my mother's casket, and it all went downhill from there her hands were blue, She was stark white her face had an expression that looked like she was so angry and she would've been if she could see herself, we were mortified. I asked Adam the funeral director, who, by the way was dressed in more of a jogging suit, not a suit and tie, if he had make up to fix her hands he asked what did I want him to do and I told him to go get make up to fix her.Adam then handed the brush to my sister and had her fix them. However, my sister was so upset she couldn't do it so he said he guess he'd have to. When it was time for the service to begin. Adam said to my sister let's get this party started. First of all it wasn't a party, It was my mother's funeral!!!! We lost our mother!!!!! Adam has zero and I mean zero compassion for the family or the person that has passed away!! At the burial site. Adam said for everyone to go put their hand on the coffin so a piece of everyone could be with her ineternity when my sister and I went up there he said go ahead rub it good and get your moneys worth. And then called my mother by the wrong name and when we corrected him, he said Eileen/Elaine Whatever! At the mausoleum, my father was in the front and they put a small curtain in front of his casket, but you could still see it. Everyone at the graveside could see it. After the so-called service at the graveside the grounds workers grab duct, tape and caulk and they had the pallbearers placed my mom into the mausoleum in front of everybody, which i have never seen at ant funeral, And they started stealing her up right in front of us. I have never in my life been to a funeral where our loved one has been shown so much disrespect it is appalling. It is mortifying. My mother did not deserve this, and we, as her children did not deserve it . My granddaughter asked me how she gets the image of her grandma out of her head when she closes her eyes because she looks so scary. I have been to many funerals and have never ever seen such unprofessional work behavior and for lack of a better term a party sanctuary. This place is only in it for the money They don't care about your loved one they don't care about you. PLEASE do not use this funeral home. They will treat your loved ones with disrespect. They will treat you with disrespect. This is not how someone you love should be laid to rest.

Same result. 100% Do yourself a favor. Dont listen to all the remarks. This is a classic retro building with great people here happy to assist. I had a great experience all around on the other end. This is a feel good place although it's old, it has a good vibe inside. Go see for yourself. From what I saw on my end, pricing is by computer and you can't adjust the price. I visited the Heartwood Preserve after reading an article about the facility in the Tampa Bay…read moreTimes. The grounds are open to the public during normal business hours. I walked the cemetery and the preserve. I didn't inquire info or pricing of services.. A description of what I viewed while on the property is below along with several photos. The Heartwood Preserve is a medium size property and is essentially the same environment as Starkey Park. In fact, the most southwest corner of Starkey Park borders the Heartwood Preserve. The border fence can seen on the preserve trial which is probably a quarter mile long. I walked through the cemetery portion of the property viewing two graves. Small grave markers can be seen along the trail indicating gravesites. One grave not pictured was circled by pinecones with pineneedles a top. Each gravesite was directly beside the cemetery pathway (not paved) identical to many field like trials at Starkey where many fan shaped palm fronds are. The welcome center was staffed when I visited and a separate employee was tending to the grounds and politely waved and smiled. I learned a lot by walking the property on my own and will consider burial on these grounds.
