I cant stress enough how awesome is Dr Wong. He is: - A top notch doctor who cares about his patients. I've been seeing him for 12+ years and no disappointment. He had me come in today to see him for possible flu so I need not to go to ER. In addition to my treatment Tamiflu, he called in RX for my hubby too. - He would make sure your lab results are read, and share with you. - If you leave a message, you'll know he will call you back. It just happens to be at 6-7pm (clinic closes at 5 and he's doing his follow up til late) - Beside the fact that he gets to know you and your family, he explains to you the lab test you'll be taking; what are we looking for as results, and when you should return. Patient centered care at it's best. I don't walk out the office confused. - Yes he takes time to get to you, but it's because he spends time with patients. Not one of those 8 min, you're done type doctor visit. - He does his own vitals. Not his M.A. or nurses. Even if they did, he rechecks it. What not to love about this doctor. My mother saw Dr. Wong for low back pain with sciatica. She left the appointment feeling dismissed and disrespected. According to her, Dr. Wong told her she was being "annoying" and advised her to find another primary care physician rather than return to his practice. My mother is not someone who complains easily, so hearing about her experience was especially disappointing. As a primary care provider myself, I believe patients deserve to be treated with respect and compassion, even when visits are challenging. Based on my mother's experience, I would not recommend Dr. Wong as a primary care physician. read more

Dr Wong is great. He takes his time to explain everything and is always willing to answer questions HOWEVER the front desk staff leaves much to be desired. Faces are always getting lost, you can never get through on the phone, when you finally do connect with a human, they put you on hold only to hang up on you after 20 min. I spent an entire day trying to find a new primary care doctor and found Dr Wong. When I called the office and told them my insurance provider, they took my insurance and sent me an email with new patient paperwork. I filled it out the 6 pages of paperwork and personal info and emailed it to them. I called them multiple times to verify that they received my paperwork. Many times I got a message saying all lines are busy or no one picks up the phone. When I finally got a hold of them, they told me they don't take my insurance. Very frustrating. Though Dr Wong is very nice I was very disappointed with our first visit. The staff are extremely rude. They don't acknowledge your existence when you come in and when they finally do call for you the front staff especially this Asian girl is rude and arrogant. Tried this medical office 1st time after my MD of 10+ years had retired and has bad health issues. This office is disorganized... as confirmed by a simple google search. My annual physical was horrid, MD Wong is quick to assess, nice bed side manners. BUT it took this office 3 phone calls and 3+ weeks to follow up on blood test results (something I was worried about). If you go to their office, the 1st thing you will notice is that walls full of papers... which explains a simple misplaced bloodwork/lab results. Stacks of paper and medical records on the FLOOR! Its not MD Wong I dont like, but the way how their office is ran. Not to mention the lack compassion nor do I feel that they are actualy hearing me and responding to my needs. Dr. Wong office WONT even call a prescription into Target pharmacy located 1/2 mile away. Requiring me to come in and "pick it up"... wtf. Calls from MD Wong: "I dont have those records... let me get back to you on that" Wait a week, call again, and get another response with similar outcomes (repeat again). I miss my old MD (1 for 20 years, another for 10)... These young MDs just are out for a buck, and you are just a stack of paper they have to deal with. I was just kinda disappointed when this asian lady with a strong accent talked to my grandma over the phone and overheard her being rude on her. Didn't get her name as she always "sighs" on the phone and that irks me. I was kinda frustrated too cos I was looking for the smiley front office staff named Rona who's been very easy to talk with. Sadly, I found out from my grandma that the MA that has been helping her regarding her appointments already resigned. I was kinda sad because she was the only one who is very knowledgable on what was going on in their office. Good thing Karla was still there but barely in the Daly City office because she's working in their San Francisco location. How I wish Dr. Wong will find exactly like Rona that has been so passionate in helping patients especially the older ones like my grandma. I was just looking for his number when this came up. I was shocked to see the negative reviews. I have been to Kevin before. All good. I was hoping for a appointment tomorrow. That wasn't possible but he was able to get me in the same day as my call! He was able to look at my problem I was concerned about and come up with a great solution. I am not looking for someone to make me excited about going to the doctor just someone to help me out and Kevin did that perfectly this time as well as the last time. His mellow attitude is what I like. I don't want to go to a sales man. I will keep him as my doctor. I can't stress how terrible my experience was with Dr. Wong and his staff. The office almost never answers the phone and are rude when you arrive. Dr. Wong seemed nice enough during my visit but, he requested I get pretty extensive blood work done which I had to go to 2 separate labs for. He said he would call me after he got results. Well, he never called. I have e tried calling his office for weeks and can never get through. Either they never answer or put me on hold and never get back on the line. Apparently *someone* complained about my review and also a third review that agreed with mine so that they were removed. I find it suspicious when someone writes a review of a doctor in Daly City and lives quite a ways away, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt that they are actually an unbiased, unrelated patient of Dr. Wong who drives 40 miles to visit Dr. Wong due to work or whatnot. Here is the original review with portions redacted: Not that great. Long waits in the office with unprofessional secretaries talking about weddings. I sat for 50 minutes in the waiting room listening to one receptionist talk non-stop in her high-pitched, high-volume voice. Why would you set up an appointment when you can't see the patient until an hour after the appointment time? Set the friggin appointment up at the right time! And they let the phone ring if they're in the middle of the good part in their story. Why do they have 2-3 people standing around doing nothing? And no apologies from the doctor. He's brusque and doesn't really seem to care. It might be strep throat, but we'd have to take a culture and it'll be 3 days before we get the labs back. If it is strep, we'll have you come in again for meds. What?! Yeah, you want me to come in again and pay $$ the copay twice for the same thing and wait for an hour listening to your screeching secretary? No. Find another doctor. Moving into San Mateo county, my parents needed to find a new doctor because of their insurance. I met dr. Wong for the first time, I was so surprised. He was so dull and made us feel unwelcome. He talked like a robot with no emotion. He also mention to me that it's very hard to find a doctor with their insurance. I wonder was that an insult? He made my mom feel uncomfortable asking why was she here because she doesn't have much health issue. She's old so of course she still need to be checked out. I spent three hours there translating for both parents. That took forever. I'm gonna have to try dr. Lai. Than if this doesn't work out, another search I have to just do. read more

Dr Wong has been my pain management doctor for a bit now and I highly recommended him. For me he explains my treatment plan fully which allows me to make an informed discussion on how to proceed. Dr. Kevin Wong is one of the worst Dr's in the area. Takes Patients who are mentally and physically handicapped just for the money. He does not care about his patients. Dr. Kevin Wong is a great Doctor. He takes his time with me and always makes sure his patients get the best medication & care. I have been seeing him for about 3yrs & he accepts most major insurances like Health Plan of San Mateo, United, Federal, & the Blues. He even speaks Cantonese & does weight loss. I don't really go there for the staff but, even when I'm having a bad day they make me smile & I never have to pay copay anyways. I agree that the receptionists at Dr. Wong's office can be trained to act more professional and courteous in their interacting with the patients. However, I really appreciate the time, effort and patience that Dr. Wong gives to his patients. He is the type of doctor that sees a patient a patient, not a billable slot. When there was an issue with a lab test, he calls back and explain the result in good details on a Sunday!!!! Perhaps that's the time he is free to make phone calls to patients. Dr. Wong was my Father's doctor who came highly recommended by our long time family physician who longer took my father's insurance. My Father has a brain injury and has a hard time answering questions, which is why I was there. He snapped at my father asking him why I was answering questions for him and ask him what his diagnosis was? When I expressed concerns he told he that I was not his patient and he was not going to listen to me, which under normal circumstance where a patient is able to speak for themselves I totally agree with, but not in my father's case. Three years ago, I had a wired cough for months and had seen three different doctors, took all kinds of coughing medicine, I was over drugged, but nothing changed. I still coughed. The fourth Dr I went to see was Dr Wong, he fixed my cough in two weeks. Dr Wong told me that was due to allergies. So I didn't need to take wrong drugs anymore. Be Aware of the billing! We were paying doctors bills for months, every month paying off every amount that came. And regardless, we STILL had statements coming that were saying we were 30 days overdue, 60 days overdue and 90 days overdue!! Like, what the hell? So i looked back over the last few months and realized we were getting new charges PLUS apparent charges we were overdue for and i KNOW we had paid it. Everything is paid by check so i went back and found those checks had been cashed. Each bill had the same 90 days overdue charge on each bill plus added overdue charges from months before. Wrote back and added copies for everything and asked what the heck was going on. The very next month we get a new bill with new dates and new charges. No credit for those overcharges and no explanation. It's ridiculous too because the person who this doctor is for has been deceased for 4 months now. When do these bills end????? read more

Doctor Wong is a very knowledgeable physician. If you are only expecting to hear what you want, then he may not be for you. I've had good experience with him. Yes, he is always busy, but always calls me back. He's also given me samples of drugs to try before committing to expensive prescriptions, as I have bad insurance coverage. No this office is not club med, but then I came here for medical treatment, not a facial. Dr. Wong is always seen running around often skipping lunch for his patients. His partner John is also a very good Doctor who has filled in when Dr. Wong is not around. If you want to be pampered, then go to one of those Marin offices with "annual practice participation fees".
