I truly can't say enough good things about this office. Dr. Choudry is compassionate, attentive, and incredibly easy to talk to. He genuinely makes me feel heard and cared for as a patient, which means so much when dealing with chronic migraines. The staff has also been consistently kind, professional, and responsive. Anytime I call with questions or concerns, they always return my calls promptly and are very helpful. It's clear that everyone in the office cares about their patients and works hard to provide excellent care. I'm very grateful to have found this team and highly recommend them.

Discharge instructions stated to stop his seizure medication. These are not to be stopped cold turkey. I called to ask what he is actually supposed to do and the person who answered said "I don't know, we didn't discharge him and we were there" ok so just stop the medication suddenly and whatever happens happens is on your office then. She said "oh well I can ask the md" and proceeded to question that we were properly given discharge instructions. Ma'am he's being sent home with a pic line and his discharge instructions were more focused on the care for that. Nothing was specifically mentioned about his medications. And if you think Tri city hospital does a thorough go over of the discharge instructions then I rest my case on the incompetent

They were confident about what was going on but still reluctant to rule out other things (I don't blame them at all, as none of them were neurologists). Dr. Schweller quickly identified the cause, and what was most impressive, made predictions about my symptoms that, in fact, were completely correct. This showed he really understood what was going on. Additionally, he gave me a prognosis that explained why two of my fingers were taking longer to heal than the others. On a side note, he is a really interesting man to talk to, with great stories. And he's incredibly well-trained, having gone to Georgetown for both college and medical school, followed by residency at the Mayo Clinic. His assistant was very welcoming and quickly put me at ease, as did Dr. Schweller when I met him. In particular, I appreciated how patient they were. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork because this was for a worker's comp claim (it honestly took close to thirty minutes), and they didn't make me feel like I needed to rush at all. There was no wait, and, because of the paperwork, they ended up being the ones who waited on me. How often does that happen at a doctor's office?!!! The ambience of the office was peaceful and calm, and when I was sitting down in Dr. Schweller's office, the first thing he said was, "Happy New Year. Life is good. Don't worry; be happy," or words to that effect. I would strongly recommend him as a QME doctor (these are the independent doctors you can appeal denied worker's comp claims to). If he accepts non-worker's comp patients, I would recommend him to those patients as well.

I have been seeing Dr. Frishberg, for years now. I always find him to be friendly, upbeat,…read moreprofessional, and a good Neurologist to work with; I've had absolutely no issues with him so I'm confused as to some of these reviews. There are times he's busy, but he comes in quickly, does what I am there for and we both leave the office. I think he's a great Neurologist, which is why I have stayed with him for so long. As to the Carlsbad staff it seems there are often ones I don't recognize or know (some I do), and I go there every three months! The front desk people are not rude, but I can't say most are friendly (but a few really are).. Moving to PB I have been able to see PA's in La Jolla and find them all to be much more pleasant and accommodating. As to getting through on the phone, I would have to give them 0. 5 stars, and that is because when someone does answer they are typically very pleasant. It had gotten much worse during the pandemic, but we are over 2 yrs post so that shouldn't continue to be an issue. Recording always says they have a number of calls and in my head I'm urging them to get more people to help then! It's unacceptable and I can see why they would lose patients that way. I referred a friend to Dr F, but she encountered this and went to someone else because she said she wasn't going to wait on the phone that long to get through to a medical office. I was bummed because I believe Dr Frishberg could really help her. I called at 8:15 this morning thinking they opened at 8:00 and got the We're not in the office yet message. So I called about 415 and was again put on hold for the longest time and then the phone disconnected; I was pretty upset by that. I called back & the message said the office is now closed. I should not have to wait an hour and then some to get ahold of someone there. So this is an urgent, urgent, urgent plea to please get more people to answer your phones. The prompts didn't give an option to talk with someone if they've asked you to call about a change and you need to ask questions about it; that was different. I would have to give an F on the phones. I think this office would have much higher reviews but it is the phone said really pull them down. I am more than happy to increase a review because I give the doctor five stars he's excellent, but how do I get five stars when the phones system is such a mess. Neurology please improve this, so I can give a better review.

This office has gotten progressively worse in the last year. They do NOT answer their phones. Be prepared for a 20-30 minute hold time if you're given the option to wait. Every time I'm in the waiting room, I never hear the phone ring or see them on the phone. I'm not sure who answers them. The Botox line never picks up so you leave a voicemail and they'll call you back the next day. I left multiple voicemails and requested callbacks to reschedule an appointment. There are three words nobody wants to hear, "You have cancer." I heard these words in June 2004…read more Dr. Scott Meyer was the neurosurgeon who performed the biopsy that diagnosed me. If I will remember only one thing about this man, it will be his favorite line, "I don't know." This man had no answers for us. What should we do doctor? "I don't know." If your son was diagnosed with this, what would be your next step? "I don't know." "I don't know" and "this is a difficult choice" were his two favorite expressions. My wife asked for information to read. He handed her a scientific journal reviewing the current medical and statistical data. She worked her way through this journal and asked him questions days later. I'm pretty sure he was stunned that we were able to comprehend the information enough to ask additional questions. We're pretty sure he handed us this paper to shut us up! Finally, a kind doctor (who will remain nameless) walked into the room and said. "San Diego does not have a neuro-oncology program, you need to leave here and go someplace else." These were his exact words, he/she did not hesitate. Scott Meyer also has no bedside manner. We never saw him again after his "job" of cutting my head open was done. I had an appt to drive to Encinitas for a follow up. Time haven past, with a clearer mind to begin addressing the next step, we came with loads of information and questions. Was he there for the appt? Of course not. An assistant, maybe a nurse, help us. She hadn't reviewed our case, we were just there to see how the scar was healing and that was it. I had a ton of questions of a "what do we do now?" theme. She said he would be contacting you for another appt. This never came. We never saw him again. Years later, a friend told me that Scott Meyer had been telling some people that I wouldn't live much longer! Contrast that with my experience of leaving San Diego and heading elsewhere. Day 1, a team was brought together and a plan was initiated. Director of Neuro-oncology, Co-Director of Neuro-surgery was the team I got. They were all there for anything I needed and still are. Where was this, you may ask? It's just a little place called UCLA. And me? Better than ever! Three year cancer survivor despite anything Mr (he really doesn't deserve the Dr. title) Scott Meyer has to say!

When he came into "examine" me , he said i dont understand why you are here, you need to go to your general practioner.. i said you were the doctor that treated me in the hospital and read the CAT Scans... needless to say he never looked at my head which i had 3 staples in... i would advise going to another doc and avoid this one at all costs.
