I don't even know where to start. I am 33 years old and have been to many OBG's in my life but…read morenever in my life I had such low quality interaction. I am pregnant for the first time, and if this wasn't terrifying enough, I have had severe bleeding and cramps for over a week prior to my appointment, so I went there with lots of questions, and hoping to get some clarification on what was going on. The office staff was very courteous, that I cannot complain. Unfortunately however, one of the girls (the one who took me to get the urine test) forgot to tell my boyfriend (i told her I would like him to join me when he arrived (he was on his way) and she guaranteed me she would let him know where I was. He got there, looked for me, and nobody took him to me. Shame on them. Onto the "doctor". I don't even think I can call that person a doctor. She introduced herself and gathered my records and took a 3-second look and started to ask me questions that she clearly hadn't read a thing about me. "You've had 3 miscarriages?" No, Ive never been pregnant, it's written there. "Oh, thats your second pregnancy?" No, ma'am, Ive never been pregnant, its right there on the paper you are holding. She was aloof and I don't even think she knew my name at that point. She seemed in a hurry. I proceeded to explain about my severe pain and bleeding and all aha said was "There really not a way to tell you whats that". Well, maybe thats why we come to a Doctor, to get answers! She then proceeds to get my IV ultrasound. Good Lord. My boyfriend is a Radiologist, so watching her doing my ultrasound was scary. She didn't know how to use the machine! She didn't know how to freeze the image, she didn't know how to print, she didn't know how to MEASURE IT! She actually measured my yolk vertically so there was no way to see the size of the fetal pole. She was so clumsy I actually has to hold the ultrasound pole inside of me (I SWEAR TO GOD, I'M NOT JOKING) while she franticly tried to find the button where to print the horrible image she chose to look at. I swear any 1st year med-student would have done a better job. She printed the thing, looked at the blood test I brought with me and said it was inconclusive. She didn't exam my breast, she didn't ask about anything. She said she needed another blood test and if the results are not good, I should decide on how to proceed with the miscarriage and then "move on with my life". She then proceeded to tell me not to give up yet and left the room. That was it. My very first pregnancy, one million questions, hundreds of weird symptoms, a doctor unable to operate an US machine and a 10 minute appointment. I actually thought she would meet me at her office so I could ask her more questions but no, that was it. I left with more questions than answers, and when I showed the picture to my boyfriend (who's been reading those for over 15 years now) he said "Who took this? And what the heck is she measuring here?". He wanted to go back there but I was already too disturbed to bother. Fast forward one day and I call the office to let her know about my second blood work. Receptionist says Doctor will call me back with instructions. About two hours later someone calls, but thats not the doctor. Its her assistant. The call lasted 0:58seconds. She told me "blood results were inconclusive and not so good, doctor wants a new ultrasound and if theres no heart beat, you need to chose the miscarriage/abortion option". Like that, cold as an ice cube. I was in shock for a bit and was like "but does she want another blood test?, do I just wait here for a week, Im in pain, and bleeding!".. and he assistant said, "no, just another ultrasound. No heart beat, make sure you chose your miscarriage options." And that was it. Heartless, inconsiderate, cold and unprofessional treatment from both, this doctor and her assistant. I was hoping the doctor would call me and explain me something, give me some word of encouragement, provide me with some explanation. But apparently her assistant does that for her, and very poorly. I broke down in tears not only because of the not so encouraging news, but because of the WAY those two ladies dealt with such delicate situation. I bet they don't have children or never had a miscarriage. This is not a way of dealing with a first-time pregnant woman who's scared to death. "Choosing a miscariage/abortion way" is not something you tell people like you are telling them they have a cold. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF MY LIFE, and all they did was treat me like one more patient to be billed. This was traumatizing and I can't wait to actually deal with a HUMAN doctor, someone that will actually seat down and talk to me, someone that will pick up the phone and speak to me and give me some compassion. Those two women were not human. Those are not Doctors. It takes more than an MD degree to make someone a good doctor, and she is not one of them.

While I was in a lot of pain, I also understood there are patients with far more critical emergencies, so I was prepared for a long wait. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. From arrival to X-rays, diagnosis, pain medication, splinting, and a prescription, I was in and out in about two hours. The intake process was efficient, and I especially appreciated that the staff prioritized getting me evaluated and comfortable before collecting my insurance information. That patient-first approach spoke volumes. Dr. Subramani was kind and took the time to explain my injury and treatment plan. To top it off, I received a follow-up phone call afterward to check on my recovery, which was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch. Emergency rooms often get a reputation for long waits and impersonal care, but my experience was the opposite. There was a team surrounding me & Dr. Fierer was the only doctor who was willing to take a chance & perform surgery. He told me and my husband if my blood count went any lower, he wouldn't be able to do the surgery as I would not survive. An ICU nurse later told me I was extremely lucky that Dr. Fierer was available that day. Oh!! Did I mention Dr Fierer performed the surgery without the use of blood?? We saw the first surgeon and upon learning mom didn't want chemo, scared her badly and was very curt. We then saw Dr F and he was much gentler. Now my mom has been blessed to not have had any major procedures all these years so @ her age, this was very scary. Dr F discussed several ways to remove it and did the procedure @ his office. I was allowed in and watched (which i don't recommend) but wanted to be with mom. Thankfully he got it all, no need for lymph node removal or even the CT whole body scan so mom was very happy. It's was a large incision but she healed very nicely. On our first visit, mom who suffers from low blood sugar, was feeling faint and the nice receptionist got her some crackers. We felt very cared for and are very thankful.

I practice more functionally based medicine than allopathic medicine. Dr Weiss is the most thorough provider I have seen in endocrine and I have seen a lot of other providers over the past 60 years. I feel that I have found also someone who can take wonderful care of my patients when I finally fully retire. My patients will be in wonderful caring hands. I am 71 but love my work. I had been dealing with major health problems for over a decade and have done everything holistic that exists, so I thought ok let me try the traditional medical model just to see. Granted, I am major hate of big pharma and the western healthcare anyway but wanted to cover all my bases and get an opinion. To book the appt they charged me $75 off the bat, which is fine (I am a chiro and I also work with patients and it sucks super bad to have people flake on you or no show so I get it). When I arrived they charged me for the rest of the visit before I was seen. Annoying in my opinion. I mean, what if we did more or less than what the standard office visit is? But ok, a lot of offices do this now so that's fine. The part that pissed me off is that I had sent in all my labs, and there was a lot about a week prior and the doc was 30 min late to my appt. I had to wait 30 min! Then she told me she was reviewing my labs. Um....as a doc myself I ALWAYS review the clients' info prior to the appt, not during or before to the point I am late. During the lengthy visit I went over all my problems and the doc gave me one holistic suggestion after the other, after the other, after the other, meditation, grounding work, supplements etc. When I specifically said hey I have done and do literally everything holistic under the sun. I want something different. After all that, she wanted to order more labs, labs that I had done literally a month prior that were extensive to see if they changed since. I made it clear I am a cash client with no insurance and money is tight. I was upset she wanted to take labs "to see." I asked her specifically what her gut was telling her could possibly be wrong with me and she did not know. It is ok for the doc to not know, but I would have felt more respected and cared for if she simply said "I do not know how to handle your case, and I do not have any idea what it could be realistically" instead of wanting to rack up huge lab bills. I am sure she is a great doc when it comes to the typical diabetes or something that is more well known, but for my case it was a large waste of $250. I went seeking her medical knowledge, skills, and opinions and did not get anything out of it. She is a really nice person and I am sure she is a great fit for a lot of people but I wanted to share my experience. In short, don't see her if you have a very complicated case that is across the board confusing.
