Love the vibe here. I've been to Europe a few times and this has an exact feel as a patisserie in…read moreEurope. However, prices are not even close. I ordered an apple tart and a small piece was $7.50! Yes, it was good, and the cream was wonderful, but paying about $2 per bite is outrageous. The value of their drinks might be a little better. I ordered a Cortado and it was delicious. The volume of liquid wasn't too low. $4.25 I would give it 3 stars, but I know not everyone is good with money and many are willing to pay these prices on the east side Providence. The staff was nice, but nothing over the top.

First, the young woman who took care of us seemed to keep 'checking out', as in, she seemed to temporarily fall asleep with her eyes open. She would become non-responsive and we'd just wait for her to acknowledge us and then repeat what we said. So that's weird. Even after she said 'OK' and went over to the register to ring it all in, we had to repeat the order, again. The Americano coffee was not made correctly. It literally tasted like dirty water. Definitely did not use the appropriate amount of espresso in this drink. The Mocha was not blended correctly and was grainy with a lot of sediment at the bottom of the cup. I was unable to finish drinking that. The friends we met up with mentioned they are surprised how many tables were open on a Saturday. In the past there was 'always a line' of people ordering and waiting for a table. During our visit there were several empty tables. The pastry were very tasty though, so that was nice. They do have a nice selection of pastry available and we might try some more of those offerings another time. The ambiance is very cute. Bus your own tables. On street parking.

Wow why did it take so long to try this place?! So many…read moreoptions! Lots of grab and go, nice amount of seating, a bathroom too. A little pricey, but the flavor is worth it. HUGE sandwiches, fun drinks and fun pastries. Ladies inside were so sweet too. Street parking is pretty easy due to be a quiet area- we will deff be back!

As an Italian from NY and a girl who lived in Rome, I have some high standards for baked goods and…read morepastries because my hometown had some of the best shops around. It's rare that I walk into a place and they blow my mind. However, I found my new spot. Italian Gem Cafe has it all--and the gem in their name certainly belongs there. Jessica is running an amazing business in Middleboro, MA and my only regret is not finding out about her cafe sooner. IGC uses clean ingredients, makes everything fresh in house daily, and believes in small batch or quality over quantity. However, I must say, I was blown away by all of the choices they had. I can personally say that her paninis, made on house made focaccia bread are next level. Whether you're going with house favorites like La Rosemarino, La Diavola or La Porchetta or a weekly special, you are bound to be satisfied. And that's only the beginning of that's they have to offer! The bagel bomboloni was quite possibly the best savory pastry I've ever had. I cannot stop thinking about it. The mini Nutella and wild berry bombolonis were so good too. Their donuts and croissants were also delicious. I know they went viral for their frozen espresso, but I opted for the cookies and creme latte. It had chocolate all around the cup, the espresso was perfect, the cold foam was next level and the cookie details on top were the ideal touch. This latte was amazing and you know I've had a lot to compare it to. Alli def made the perfect drink for me and I am so thankful for her thoughtfulness on selecting one I would love. The customer service at IGC is def next level---they care about their product, their customers and their community. I'll be back soon for sure!
