    Peanut butter brownie
    Angel S.

Loved the carrot cake, but didn't care for the raspberry almond cake. The brownie was different, it had a hard layer of something in it. I prefer fudge brownies. Overall, good dessert.

This is a top notch bakery in Providence. We had excellent service throughout our visit and the desserts were incredible! The servers were all polite, patient, and kind. They offered to wrap our three items together or separate. The packaging was so pretty , they were a treat to open! The restaurant is stylish inside and pleasantly decorated. We took our scrumptious treats to a nearby park and savored every bite.

I got a Peanut Butter Brownie. It was good, but it had more a texture of fudge than brownie. The place is on Federal Hills On Atwell with limited parking. Limited seating inside. It's a small cute little place. The staff is nice. I was there on a busy day but everyone was greeted and attended to. Would recommend.

Came in around 3:30 pm on a Saturday. The place had quite a few people in looking at pastries. I quickly scanned the pastries they had to offer, and I was helped very soon after. I opted for a crumble cake (a coffee cake type?) and it was instantly put in a box and I was charged, all very efficient. They are a a small shop with not a lot of place for people to eat there, but they have a lot of easily accessible napkins and utensils. I opted to take the cake to a nearby park. I liked that they offered whipped cream on the side since I tend to not like a lot of it. The cake was good, good amount of sweetness, adequately moist, and good flavor. I liked it a lot and would be thrilled to try their other items!

It's been a minute since I've been back to Pastiche Fine Desserts. Desserts (cakes, slices, and pastries) at Pastiche are always so delicious and you can never go wrong with any item. They are all prepared on-site daily. The Pineapple Mango Panna Cotta was delicate, creamy, airy, silky, and just melts in your mouth with every bite. In my last review, I said the iced passion green tea was too sweet, but this time it was perfect. Staff are always great and friendly. The desserts are always very consistent in their flavor and you know it'll be great quality.

This college town spot was open on the weekend. The selection was not wide, but it was quality stuff. I note that while I was part of a last minute rush, they handled service exceptionally well, taking orders rapidly, with separate people packaging food and taking payment. Line management is a lost art in my experience. The pastry I took a shot on was a tiramisu slice. It was very cake-y as these things go, but made for a mouthwatering breakfast the next day. I didn't need any more than that, but I suspect that most people's desires for dessert can be satisfied here.

I'd say this is more of a 3.5 but the staff was so nice and they had birthday cards and candles so I gave them the round up to 4 stars. Cake was decent but not spectacular. Theres a bench if you'd like to sit and eat but it's more of a to go place. They have some plasticware if you're not taking your cake home. I'd try again but I probably won't rush back.

Lemon Mousse cake, sorry made a cut in it!

Another cake, birthday this time w lemon mousse. Not as spectacular as last cake, but good. We even started to cut into it before a photo. Next ones will be chocolate, but the best cakes we have had in the area.

My additional update to this spot (which I love) is the cost. I know there are a host of reasons for rising costs: Inflation The cost of goods The cost to employee people Yes, these are all factors, but it seems also like "they just can." They don't have to employee people to act as servers anymore, just to box up items to go. It was really a loss to no longer be able to come here and enjoy desert. "To go" just doesn't feel the same, but... The prices have also consistently gone up here. I paid $9.50 each for 3 slices of desert. Was I willing? Yes. Will I do so with the frequency I had in the past? Probably not. I still love their products, but maybe not their policies or prices. And I am sad about it.

    7/24/24: all YUM!

Date of visit: 7/24/2024 We got 4 different cake slices to try. Fruit tart, tiramisu and carrot cake are all very good and highly recommended. Rhubarb upside down cake, however, was the one that caused disagreement among members of my family. I personally liked it, while the other 3 didn't. I get it that the sour rhubarb topping can be a turnoff for most people, but imo if you have it with the whipped cream and the strawberry sauce, it still falls under my "ORDER IT" category. Stop by after a meal and try this place out if you happen to be in Providence. You won't regret it!

    So many choices!

This was my first visit to what I know is Federal Hill, RI icon. The staff was patient (I mean sweets are a big decision! lol) and friendly. I took my sister there for birthday dessert. We got two slices of different cakes and two chai lattes and sat on the benches in the back of the room sharing the decadent calories. All I can say is....YUM!!!

    Chocolate Raspberry Cake

I got my birthday cake (their new raspberry chocolate cake) and a few single slices (torta de chocolate and tiramisu) here, all of which were delicious. My birthday cake specifically came out beautifully. Although some may argue that Pastiche is now overpriced, I would disagree due to the high quality of the desserts, cost of labor, and current high cost of ingredients. I am rating 4/5 (leaning more toward 5) because I would love to see them bring back seating inside; it used to be so nice to have dinner on Federal Hill and then walk over to Pastiche for a sit-down piece of cake and a hot drink. Overall, service and desserts are great, and I will definitely continue to go here!

During our quick stop thru Rhode Island we were on the hunt to try the best desserts in the state and Pastiche certainly delivered! My wife and I both ordered a mochachino along with one dessert to share in the store and one to enjoy later on the road . Our first choice, the butterscotch bunt cake with their fresh creme, was absolutely heavenly with its soft texture and tasty morsels inside plus crunch crumbs atop as we dunked each bite into the container of whipped goodness. Later with the key lime pie as we venture back towards our destination of Boston we savored every bite of the tart slide combined with the savory graham cracker crust and the house whipped creme We loved the quaint storefront, the friendly staff, and the quick service. Highly recommend making this your spot for sweets if you're passing thru!!

My friends and I waited about 40 min on a Saturday morning to try their viral whipped lattes. I ordered the whipped cookie butter latte and tried their banana caramel and matcha lattes. I was sad to see that the toasted coconut is no longer an option and was surprised that no one seemed to order the red velvet one. Any latte can be whipped for $2. My drink came to $9 and became the most expensive small latte I've ever paid for. I also ordered one of their Cowboy cookies and regret not buying another. It's like a kitchen sink cookie with a sweet and salty mix. The cookie butter flavor didn't stand out in the actual latte, but the whipped was thick, sweet, and delicious. It's worth doing to experience why this place has become so viral, but I wouldn't be able to justify it on a regular basis. I'm happy to see this small business succeed and expand.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.

Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches.
