Have had my share of getting raked over the coals by car mechanics, but a co-worker that witnessed my frustrations for the umpteenth time referred Kev's to me. Although it was not a muffler I needed, my friend insisted I call them and see if they serviced the issue at hand. Been so long ago that I don't even remember what it was, but do know I've been going to Kev's every since. Have yet to be disappointed. Great work, great prices, and great fair and very honest folks. As one other reviewer mentioned, the shop is not posh, so if a bit of dust is not your style, you may want to pay for all the fluff somewhere else. You won't find a Starbucks coffee brewer, a big screen TV, reclining leather seats, or any other fancy ammenities. I had brought my Jeep into Kev's a couple years ago to have my brake pads replaced. They did a great job, at a great price, with great customer service then. About a week ago, I was in a situation where I had to hit my brakes hard. Within a couple of days the brake pad was gone and the rotor was getting hot. Of course I brought it back to Kev's. They were very busy so I made an appointment to bring it in later. He came out and looked at it and could tell it was close to being a bigger issue. It turned out I had another vehicle available so I dropped it off to work on when they could. Also with the pot holes and a couple of rough roads, had them look at the suspension. I didn't expect them to even have time to look at it for week. I talked to them 2 days after dropping it off and they knew what was wrong, but still might be awhile to get parts in and get it back in the shop. I told them no rush. The next day they had it ready. Rides great and no more grinding. Great communication, knowledgeable, fair price, and friendly. Won't go anywhere else!! read more

Kev's M & B was my second opinion on an exhaust system replacement/repair for a 2005 Honda Accord. They diagnosed the issue and repair that was needed, and determined what was needed. It was far less than our first opinion and didn't recommend the repairs that the first shop suggested. They were responsive and very respectful in the communications. The most honest shop in the KC Metro area and they are reasonable. They've helped me keep 3 kid's beaters running. Took a while to get there, but, love it. Reminds me of shops back home that cater to you are you need. In my case I do most of the car work myself and they catered the exhaust system install/modification to what I exactly needed performing better than expected. Went in today to get my muffler and tailpipe replaced and they did a great job. I was in and out in under half an hour and was very satisfied with the price I got, just over $60 for parts and labor. It's a little family business and I would go to these guys every time over some chain. There's a little waiting room if you're sticking around with a tv, about 7 chairs, and some coffee. These guys did a great job and had the most reasonable price in town! I got a quote from about two other places to get my catalytic converter replaced one was over $500 the other was $350. These guys got it done for $230 and were incredibly efficient. Not to mention I was an hour late for my appointment and they still got me in and out no problem! Highly recommend. read more

I had an exhaust leak in December 2016. This shop quoted me $200 for a whole new exhaust system or $37 for a new resonator. I chose the new resonator and it quieted down the exhaust very well. I like how they were honest about the options and not even a hint of up selling. He just asked me which option I wanted. Their office/shop is not fancy at all and perhaps it would turn some ppl off but don't be one of those ppl! Trust the reviews! I contacted Kev's about getting the exhaust repaired on my old Ford Escape I use as a daily driver. The exhaust had rusted out just in front of the rear axle and the muffler was barely holding on. With only a brief description, the guy I spoke to on the phone knew exactly what had happened (apparently it's a common problem with this generation Escape). He quoted me a very good price and said it would only take about 25 - 30 minutes to replace the section. I dropped the car off two days later first thing in the morning. They told me they probably wouldn't be able to get to it until 10:30AM when I booked the appointment but let me drop it off earlier so I could leave on my business trip. Once again, the guy that checked me in was very nice and helpful. They called me at 9:30AM and said the car was all done. I called back and was able to pay over the phone and make arrangements for my wife to pick up my keys so I could get the car that night. Overall a great experience with Kev's. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. And of course did great work at a very reasonable price. read more

My tailpipe was fell off after the muffler. Came here to see what they could do. A new muffler and dump pipe was installed in less than 30 minutes and I was gone. I'm an electrician so I work around metal fab guys all the time and I know a good wed when I see one. Very good welds. They even looked pretty too. read more

I was looking for some exhaust parts for my own weld up project. I had called ahead and was told they could probably make the part I needed. When I arrived I was helped quickly, and even though there were other customers waiting on their vehicles, Kevin jumped in and quickly made the two flanged pipes I needed. Unfortunately they didn't have the mounting flanges in stock that I also needed for the part. Kevin was very nice (but hurried), and refused to charge me anything for his time or materials. 5 stars for customer service, -1 because they didn't stock they mounting flanges. I would definitely go back. This is the kind of small business that deserves your business. Afterwards I had a horrible encounter at A1 muffler in lees summit, and posted a 1 star review. I won't be going back there, horrible customer service. read more

Just had my brakes done at Kev's, they were long overdo to be replaced. I was worried because my front left brake had over-heated and smelt like burned rubber. I dropped it off and was dreading the call with the estimate. When I got the call all it needed was new pads and the calipers cleaned and greased, $189 total, very reasonable. I'm sure if I had gone back to the tire place I used to go to it would of cost much more, nothing there is ever a simple fix. read more
