Everytime i take my car here they always get it fixed for half the price of any other shop or the dealer ship. They tell me what could be wrong and only fix what actually needs fixed. This is the only shop i will ever go to now. Good honest people are rare nowadays. read more

Not happy with above and beyond they did a water pump for me last year. It was still under warranty when it went out so they replaced it, but they still had to charge me the labor, which was almost the same price. OK they give me my truck back and I'm smelling antifreeze, but I'm thinking maybe It's just from. The water pump leaking before they fixed it. It continues to smell so I called above and beyond now they can take a look at it but they may have to charge me another hundred dollars. if it has nothing to do with them Why didn't they check to make sure it didn't leak before they gave it to me is beyond me you would of thought it was part of the job. Make sure it don't leak before I give it back to my customer now Igotta pay somebody else to fix my vehicle because I do not trust above and beyond you should always make sure you get exactly what you pay for and understand that parts are under warranty, but the labor is not to me. I was driving home to Minneapolis when I started having car trouble. I called and they were able to see me right away. Duane and Maggie were so helpful. There were several issues with my car but Duane was able to figure out what I needed done to be able to drive home. I was out of there in 2 hours with my car fixed and a list for my at home mechanic. He took the time to explain what was going on and got me out of there in a timely manner. Drove all the way with no issues. read more

I will never go here again and I also work for a major fast food company so I see tons of people.The ask me who to go to for auto repairs.Many ask about good mechanics.You will not find either there.Not only did the mechanic basically laugh in my face because I wanted to fix head gaskets he never looked at my car making assumptions and telling me it wasn't worth fixing.After calling D&S automotive I found a much better place to take my vehicle.I will always tell my customers to go to D&S and Northtown Auto from now on.It was only a third of the $4000 he said it would be.Especially did not appreciate how he rudely did this in front of my son who I am trying to teach to respect adults. read more

I was driving down to KC from SW Iowa for a business trip. It was about 5:45 pm that I suspected a problem with my brake, hub or bearings and called a friend in KC who's friend recommended I call these guys. I am so grateful for them it was 3 minutes before the shop closed on Friday night when I called and he told me how to get there and he and his tech had me fixed up and back on the road again within an hour and a half! I didn't catch all of their names but they were all amazing! Roscoe the tech who did the work was really quick and did a phenomenal job! The owner and the lady who worked in the office were both super friendly. I was afraid it was going to be crazy expensive due to the late situation but they were so reasonable!!! I can't thank them enough for their kindness and willingness to stay and get me back on the road!! It's places like this that renew my faith in humanity every day! I really like this place. They are honest, fast, and affordable. Only once have I gone in there and they said I needed something other than an oil change ( a $12 fix, at that.) No "complimentary" car evaluations that come out with a $400 estimate like some places. And, they're very good at explaining what you need and why you need it to someone who doesn't know cars that well. I take my car here for almost everything. Waited till (nearly) end of month to get car tagged. Failed inspection. Asked my peeps at jiffy lube where to go and they sent me to above & beyond. I had been using another small, local shop in area but felt screwed past few times. So glad they recommended. They were great, kind and fast, seemed to have loads of experience and knowledge. Even took care of my re inspection so I didn't have to make another stop. Much appreciated! Don't reccomend this place. They worked all day on my window to get it back in track. When they called me to pick it up door panel wasn't even installed yet. And they apparantly didn't fix the problem, but had no problem taking my money for not fixing it. My door panel wasn't even put back on correctly. read more

Not happy here. I brought my car in for a leak. They fixed it and I spent about 300 for parts and labor. Then my car was still leaking. they said they fixed it again but I still had to pay the time and labor for this visit. A couple weeks later it was still leaking and brought it back. They said it was something else and had to pay 500 for parts and labor. Then my car made a weird sound after. Then a month later had to bring it in again BC the work cracked something in the engine which was a 400 repair then they said something else was wrong which would cost about 1200 more. Seems like a lot of second hand guessing to see what's wrong. read more

I have tried several other shops and dealers in town. But this shop was the best for my money. When it came to replacing my struts on my Ford Taurus the did the best job I have found. I had a great experience here! I had a check engine light come on and they got me right in, squeezed between clients. They took care of me quick and since it was just a clear code issue, they didn't charge me for the diagnosis. I know that if I have any other car issues I will be taking them to Above and Beyond! Being from another state. It's been hard to find a good, quality minded, trustworthy mechanic. These guy's came to me from a guy who had used them and found them good. I talked to the manager Joe over the phone and he was pleasant and straight forward. He gave me a price. At a cost I couldn't find ANYWHERE else. Believe me, I put the Fru in frugal! He got me right in. Gave me a list of some items I may want to look at in the near future. As opposed to some mechanics providing a list of "must do now" or "Surprise!"..these guy's are good. And straight to what needs to be done. I feel like I got lucky to find them today. For the heck of it, just try an oil change. When they say it's $ 19.99. It's that price. You don't walk out spending $ 60.00 wondering how your going to eat! My visit was a bit more complex. But they literally do it all. At the moment, they can't do alignments. But Joe has your back. They did everything but go above and beyond. My car was in their shop for two months, and in that time period , they made so many mistakes it was unreal. They lost a part, and had to replace it, and charged me the price of the replacement part! The bill jumped up $700 because of their countless errors, and the car was in bad shape when i picked it up. They were very rude. DO NOT GO THERE, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! I only put 1 star becuase it was required for the submission, i think they deserve none! read more
