Pharmacy Manager Daniel Motta should be fired! He's rude, condescending, confrontational, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional and has zero compassion for customers. He engages in personal phone calls at work just a few feet away from the cash register then gets angry when he's asked to do his job. This guy is a terrible reflection of Publix and should be fired immediately. Here's the situation: I had an RX transferred to this Publix pharmacy location from my normal home Publix pharmacy because mine was out of my medication. Specifically an insulin I need to live. When I arrived I noticed a man sitting at a computer just a few feet away from the cash register talking loudly on what was obviously a personal call. I didn't think much about it at the time. Initially I spoke to a cashier and told him I was there to pick up my RX. When the RX was brought to the register, I asked if I could inspect what I was receiving, and found out I was being shorted one of my 3 insulin pens which equals 10 days of medication. I found out I was being charged the full $25 copay, even though I was only receiving a partial order. I've always picked up a 30 day supply = 3 pens for the $25 copay which is the proper amount and price I've paid for the past 10+ years. When I explained this to the pharmacy worker, he had to speak to the manager, Daniel Motta, who reluctantly got off his personal phone call. I explained the situation again to him. It was like I was talking in an alien language. 1. I'm paying full copay price to receive a PARTIAL order. 2. I'm receiving 10 days less insulin than what I need. He had some story about how the pharmacy couldn't do anything to help me. I could either pay the full copay of $25 for the two insulin pens they had available or leave with nothing. Daniel Motta quickly became irritated, berated me and kept saying which part of this don't you understand. He offered no solutions. The only option he mentioned was for me to not purchase my medication, and wait longer, and maybe the 3rd pen would come in stock at some point in the future. (NOTE: When I got home I did some research and found out this medication has been discontinued. So it wasn't going to come back in stock. Why didn't the pharmacy manager know that? Why didn't he look it up? If I can find it you'd think a pharmacy manager with a degree could. Maybe he was too busy on his phone call instead of helping customers). Daniel Motta took zero responsibility blaming my situation on everything but the Publix pharmacy. Out of nowhere he said I was threatening him and he was going to call the cops. I never threatened him or anything close to it. Things definitely got heated and Daniel Motta did nothing to deescalate the situation. His condescending attitude continued to spiral and with that I became more frustrated. You think I'm going to Publix to have an argument over picking up my medication? Daniel Motta had zero interest in helping me and had no problem solving skills whatsoever. He would rather have a confrontation than help a customer with a legitimate situation caused by the Publix pharmacy. Most importantly I was only able to get 20 days of insulin for the month which means I have to go 10 days without medication I need to live! Due to this situation, I'm done with Publix pharmacy. They have no ability to transfer medications from one pharmacy to another like Walgreen's does, which is at the base of this problem. The last 4 months I had to go to another Publix pharmacy other than my local location to pick up one of my RXs which means I had to go to two different Publix pharmacies to pick up my full list of RXs. That's 8 Publix pharmacies in 4 months and that's ridiculous. I'm done with the run around. Good riddance! read more

They're expensive but their bogos are a pretty sweet deal. I usually only come for the bogos but will see other things here and there and pick them up too. It's very convenient since it's not far from the Costco I go to so it's a win win. The staff here are always super friendly and there's a few that we know. It's well lit inside and clean. Pretty organized too. Their fruit always looks super fresh as well. read more

Good Publix that has a variety of different items that not all Publix in the area carry (ex. Beignet mix) . Love the open feel to the store and that they have a salad bar... again not all stores have them. Minus stars for lack of cleanliness at the sub station. I'm a bit meticulous and appreciate good aesthetics. The sub station was messing with toppings all over, stickers and supplies everywhere. The knife used to chop my veggies wasn't wiped down prior to use. It's the little things that add up. read more

Came here to grab some groceries when I was in the area since I was in town for the week. Overall, it's your typical grocery store. Easy to navigate to find any of your home grocery needs There was quite a wait in the check out aisle. Parking can be a bit hectic and the guests are friendly throughout my visit. Food is usually fairly priced, there are okay deals on primarily the unpopular stuff. read more

5 Stars for a big Publix with all the standards, but the wow comes from the floral department. Unlike the Publix near me (Colonialtown), this Publix has a floral department. Rather than the small, shabby bouquets you can get by the frozen aisle at my neighborhood Publix, this one has beautiful arrangements of all kinds of plants for prices that make you feel giddy. I got these gorgeous, large white lilies for a get-well-soon gift. They were beautiful, with a few buds left to make it past the first day or two. Their fragrance perfumed the entire house and I just got another text about the scent! Anyway, a Publix is a Publix. But this one has a bomb floral department that makes it worth the 10 minutes drive. read more

Newly remodeled Publix, located on Aloma Avenue between Lakemonte and Semoran/436- one plaza over from Whole Foods in Winter Park. I like this remodel, it offers a larger floor space and an expanded area in the Deli for a very cool cheese case. I have not seen this cheese section in any of the other remodeled Orlando area Publix I frequent. With Whole Foods a few feet away, Publix stepped up their game. Another different feature is in the nice bakery. There is a large assortment of grab and go cakes in a large refrigerated section on the front wall. Nice, for when you need a nice cake and didn't preorder. The staff in the bakery are always happy to customize. There is an Apron's demo station, large produce section and normal assortment of regular store, floral and Pharmacy offerings. This location has a great selection of sale, feature and regular items. Seafood department staff is very nice and regularly suggests ways to prepare purchases. Great Publix to shop at, with the expansion there is a Publix liquor store next door. read more

I can't say enough good thing about Publix - friendly, helpful staff and always clean and well-stocked. Plus, if they don't carry an item that you're looking for, they'll order it for you. Every time I go to Publix, I can't resist the urge to get one of their delicious subs! The bread is freshly baked in their on-site bakery and there are so many options of high quality meats and cheeses. My mouth is watering just thinking about their subs and I just had one for dinner! Besides the horrible parking lot, this Publix location is as great as any other Publix, clean and staff are always there to help. I do though have to mention, a few weeks ago when I bought my Simply Orange drinks here, when I got home one of my Orange Juice container plastic cover under the lid was ripped off. This wasn't a container what was in the back of other containers, it was literally the first one. No idea why they don't an employee checking them. This Publix Winter Park like Publix Baldwin Park is such a pleasure to shop. They have buy one get one free (BOGO) deals on the stand right by the door. I used to come here to get Hagan Dars ice cream at half the price with the BOGO deal. This time I am here to get French bread. I love Publix French bread. It has a really good smell of bread, fresh and has the right amount of dough. I came to the fast customer service stand to cash out. I was out of there in only 5 minutes, feeling content. read more

I've been shopping at this Publix for years. Yesterday, I needed to return a few shampoos that I bought off the clearance end-cap, and I did not have my receipt as it had been several weeks. They had the orange Publix stickers in the front (as most of the clearance items do), and were clearly unused. The young man at the customer service was so very rude and said they can't return them because they didn't carry them at this store. Well, I bought them there, and they are clearly from Publix. He dismissed me as though I were a criminal trying to rip off Publix for a total of $7.50! I've been to this Publix only a handful of times (and only once since the remodel mentioned by Lisa W. in her review), but it is one of my favorites ... even more so as a result of my most recent visit this past Wednesday morning. As I mentioned in my review of the Publix in Windermere, there is a cannoli-flavored Ben and Jerry's ice cream. It's a limited-edition/rare flavor, so B&J's is helping people out via "Find cannoli" map locator on their website. If you are on the locator and put in your zip code, the results will show you which, if any, local grocery stores/etc. have had this ice cream. Fortunately, I checked the locator on Tuesday night and noticed that several new locations in/around Orlando had been added to the map. This Publix was one of them. On Wednesday morning, I called to check and see if the store did, in fact, have this ice cream. Fortunately, it did - I was so relieved! I had been looking for this for at least a month, and maybe closer to two months. The person who took my call checked on the ice cream for me, was back on the phone in a minute or two to give me the good news and then, to make things even better, told me that B&J's ice creams were buy one, get one free this week. I didn't ask him to set aside the ice creams for me (he said that they had 5 on the shelf), since I didn't know if he'd be allowed to or where he'd even put them, so I just rushed down to the store about 45 minutes later and bought all of the cannoli ice creams I could. I actually found 6 of them, so I got all of them and, because of the sale, paid for only 3 of them. Can't beat that, really. As far as I can tell, I bought every one that the store had, so I feel bad for anyone else in the area who might be looking for it and think that it's there. Maybe the store has more in the back and will put them out for sale now? Hmm. Anyway, I had to buy all of them because at least 2 are for me, 1 is for my parents and 2-3 others are for friends ... so, I had to get as much as possible. Anyway, the store is very cool, clean and well-maintained. It reminds me a lot of my other favorite Publix stores - the ones in Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs (S.R. 434 & Montgomery Road), 17-92 (near Orange Ave.), especially. The customer service at this store is excellent. My cashier this past Wed. was Ernie, who is as friendly as can be. Such a nice guy. The same can be said for the guy who I talked to on the phone, though I don't remember his name now. If it were up to me, he'd be given a medal for checking on this ice cream for me. I guess he just was doing his job, but I really appreciated how helpful and courteous he was. I highly recommend this and the other aforementioned Publix stores. read more

Great publix. Compared to my old hometown, this Publix blows the old one out of the water ! Everyone is so friendly, willing to help and if they notice you enough, they'll let you in on sales happening soon to save money ! Went in there going to get snow crab legs for a special dinner in two days, the guy at the seafood section told me if I wasn't going to eat them that night, that there was a sale starting tomorrow &3 off a pound ! Another time I went and one of the bakery women told me muffins are buy one get one off "tomorrow". And lastly, I was getting spicy wings, but there was none left, they made a new batch and said 7 mins. I went at the end of my shopping about 30 mins later and they were all out again but one of the workers saved me one !! Awesome helpful staff makes for a pleasant shopping experience ! read more

You can never go wrong with a Publix sub. Sorry Subway, but you've been replaced. And Quizno's...well I do love their Italian. But Publix has great stuff, who doesn't love BOGO deals? My boyfriend went shopping and bought 90% bogo items and spent $80! Normally it's over $120! Love the expanded cheese section and of course a great bottle of wine to go along with a nice cheese. Love that they also have some choice craft beers available. Tired of the generic stuff: Miller, Coors, Bud...no offense to anyone because I drank those plus PBR, but craft beers just have a better flavor. Go for Strongbow if you're looking for a good cider. Plus, they have their own liquor store next door. Have a ball shopping here! read more

Overall, this is a pretty good Publix. It's newly renovated, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, for the most part. The downside to this store, in my experience, is the deli department. I do most of my grocery shopping at this store at night between 7-9. The problem is getting someone to help you in the deli dept at night is like pulling teeth. It seems that most of the deli dept staff go into cleanup/closing mode a couple hours before the store closes and leave one or two staff members to handle the deli, subs and the hot food customers. This leaves long waits once a few customers approach the deli. You want a sub at night? Well your bread choices are limited to one full loaf of multigrain or a half loaf of wheat. God forbid the poor sap has to go cut the meat, they hate that. Just like another reviewer said, the deli staff seem to have bad attitudes. The look I get when I try to get a sub at 8pm is that of "Why are you bothering me? Can't you see we are trying to close" It seems that the deli manager needs to communicate to the staff that although they are allowed to start cleaning up before closing, the deli is still open. I would expect to receive subpar service and selection if I were to ask for a sub 10 minutes before closing, but customers should receive the same level of service and selection an hour or two before closing as they would any other time of the day. read more

I like this Publix location. Not only is it really near my house (I can walk or bike to it), it's clean inside and the cashiers are friendly and check me out quickly. I've tried to special order things they didn't have in stock before and while I did get them eventually, it was kind of a pain in the butt. So I do stick to Costco for things that I buy in bulk, like seltzer water. But for regular trips to the grocery store, this Publix is well stocked, clean, fairly well organized, and everyone is friendly and often asks if I need any help with anything. read more

Nice, recently renovated, neighborhood Publix. Not the largest store in it's stable, but it has all the necessities and then some! This Publix ROCKS for it's insanely large and beautiful floral department. Of course having a hospital right down the block is the onus for that I'm sure, and very useful as the hospital gift shop is closed on Saturdays. This is the store I grew up going to, so I'm glad that it's just improving with age! read more

Worst publix ever, not only did it take them forever to make my sub. I had to wait 15 minutes in line to get it. I wouldn't complain about the wait but there were four other guys behind the counter talking and cleaning up. Not one of them helped the one guy making the sub. I freaking love Publix Subs, so that's what I will be reviewing. After several visits to this location, I have yet to see wilted spinach, brown lettuce or have stale bread. Everything has always been fresh and delicious. There is a good reason that Pub Subs have become so popular. That alone would give it 5 stars... but, the service and people drag down the experience so hard that I feel compelled to knock off 2 stars!! Granted, this is a busy location. I understand it can be stressful, but I have yet to be greeted with a smile. The staff always looks miserable! I understand that work sucks and the bottom of any sort of food industry work sucks harder, but this is rediculous! The subs are so good I can tolerate it, but all the times I've come here there has been one person on the sandwich line, usually after several employees state, "I'll be right with you!" Once, a line of us waited nearly 10 min for someone to finally drag themselves over, scowl on their face, to slowly trudge through the line. Today, I counted 8 people in the deli section; two working at the meat counter, 2 bustling about doing things, 3 with their backs to the front and slowly packaging things that could have been put down for a few minutes to help the 1 scowling girl working through the sub line. It was painful to watch. Managers passed us, acknowledging the long line, smiling their robotic smiles and promising to help soon (I never saw them come back) and the single, immensly depressed girl worked the line at a snails pace. The phone started ringing. The sandwich girl called out to her coworkers to pick it up because she was busy, and no one even looked at her. The phone kept ringing and nobody stopped for a second to pick it up. She sighed, and called out again, but everyone ignored her. I was shocked. This Publix lacks communication in a big way. No wonder the employees look ready to quit. When the girl handed me my sub, a flicker of a smile came and went in the blink of an eye. No matter how delicious my sub, I found myself eating it with a frown. read more

I DESPISE this location. I frequent Publix at least twice a week, and I thought that this Publix would be just as amazing as any other Publix is because this Publix is directly across the street from my job. However, one day on lunch I had the absolute worse experience of a lifetime in the deli department. The older woman that was taking my sub order was SO RUDE that I literally walked away and left my order there. I went to the store manager and complained about how rude the lady was and he really just shrugged me off and apologized very bland. This was the pits and cost me 30 minutes of my lunch break. Publix is great! They have most everything under one roof including baked goods, seafood and the usual grocery items. My favorite is their bread items. The staff are really helpful if you ever request assistance. It is also very clean in the store. You definitely are paying for that atmosphere by the prices of items. Usually you can get the same items at Walmart for less. I usually go to Publix for meats, seafood and produce as the quality is just better. My husband loves the Publix subs as well. I am just not much of a sub person but I mean it is made with their bread so how could that not be tasty!! read more

Not my usual store but close to home and I was nearby. I bought a pie from the bakery and when I went to take a slice out I needed a shovel because it was so undercooked. Even a bite sized piece couldn't support its own weight. I peeled back the top and there was just pure raw dough. Somebody isn't paying attention. I won't be back to this location. Yuck. read more

Their recently updated store is much improved. They now have a large variety of cheeses that you'd expect at a Fresh Market or Whole Foods. There's also crunch ice in the soda fountain stand, and the store is laid out nicely. It's one of the best Publix stores around! read more
