We live on the seacoast in the northeast and Key did a superb job in advising us on how to achieve total comfort during the summer. We have an old house (ca.1804) in the historic district of Portsmouth that places many restrictions on changes to our property. The team at Key took care of the necessary issues with the city to come up with an acceptable plan that does not impinge on the historic aspects of the property. The installation of 10 Mitsubishi head units and the corresponding heat pumps were performed in a totally professional manner. The age of the house increased the complexity of the project and the team at key solved all issues without delay. They left our property clean and neat at the end of each day and kept us informed of their schedule to minimize disruption to our daily lifestyle. Most importantly, the system works great! We had an incredible heat wave the week following completion of the install and the system was able to keep the house cool and completely comfortable. The system is unobtrusive and silent. We are extremely happy with the results. In summery, they engineered and installed an A/C system that exceeded our expectations every step of the way in a professional and respectful manner. I had a simply outstanding service visit with Justin from Key Heating and Cooling. I needed to have a smart thermostat replaced for control of the temperature at my lake house, since my primary residence is in New York, and my older thermostat had become irregular in its operation. Justin not only was able to navigate installing a C wire connection to the new thermostat, but suggested a better functioning model than the one that I had purchased elsewhere. He not only installed it perfectly, but guided me through the app and its features. This thermostat issue has been the number one problem with my lake house in the past, and I am so thankful to have it expertly solved. And the price was quite reasonable for parts and labor. Mr. Smotrilla was tasked with assessing our heating system, finding problem areas, and providing some recommendations. Lorne accomplished all of those goals excellently. He was polite, courteous, personable, and very professional. His knowledge and expertise were apparent immediately. Lorne determined the deficiencies in the system and gave us low and/or no-cost options to get better performance. I have to say that I was skeptical about the service. I paid less than $200 and was expecting the worst. When the tech arrive he was professional, initiated the process by a proper greeting and introduction. He was quick and efficient. He did not waste my time with sales pitches, rather a no nonsense appraisal of the situation. our A/C units were leaking and pouring water intermittently. i scheduled service and they scheduled an estimated time to arrive, they called on the day of service to ask if they could come early - worked great for me! Matt arrived and was very personable and knowledgeable. He explained everything that could cause the issues and showed me what he was going to do, then he fixed all the problems. We had stopped using Key three years ago after being dissatisfied with delays in fixing our AC that in the end didn't solve the problem. However, we recently decided to try them again when our gas burner seemed to be dangerously overheating our hot water--not to mention the surrounding area in the basement. The technician sent to fix the issue--Matthew Kinney--asked great questions and quickly diagnosed the problem. A stuck relay kept our gas burner constantly heating hot water. Field technicians are professional, do quality work and clearly are well trained. Very very pleased with the work of the technicians and price paid for services! Very pleased with the thorough servicing they have given to my WeilMcLain system. Key has struggled lately with communications, maintaining appointments(!) etc. The scheduling/main office needs to catch up with the quality service provided by the technicians when they do arrive. Need to give credit to Key AC after a less than positive review regarding their 24/7 Emergency service. There was some miscommunication between Key and their answering service which took my call on a Sunday. Once Key was aware of the situation they informed the answering service that the message should have been forwarded immediately and not shelved till Monday. They were prompt in scheduling service, the technician showed up on the appointed time and repair to the AC unit took less than 30 minutes...thank you KEY! read more

I've been relying on Key for my annual HVAC maintenance for the last number of years, and they offer affordable rates for very thorough tune-ups. I just had my furnaces looked at, and they found a small crack forming in my heating exchange. I would have never known if I didn't have my scheduled maintenance done. These guys are incredibly professional and organized, it seems like some of the other reviews are focusing on equipment issues versus installation.. But as far as installation, expediency and professionalism go; I am extremely satisfied. They did the entire install in my new build, and used top shelf components for a whole house radiant system.. Dennis came out in the spring to tune up our AC units and returned this past week when one quit working. I have a pretty complex system and he took the time to learn it and understand everything. he's very knowledgeable and offered several solutions to fix the current unit. We had Keys install our central AC unit two years ago. We have a check up done on it every spring. Curtis arrived promptly this morning and checked the entire system. He recommended several things be taken care of. He took pictures of the items that need to be addressed and I was told that they would be back in a couple of weeks to remedy those issues.
