It pays to be very, very cautious when selecting a marina because once your boat is in there, pulled from the water, dry and setting up on those boat yard blockings your wallet can end up being little more than captured, caged prey and some of them don't mind raping it over. Key Largo is a neat, clean rather big marina but to me one with little if any bang for the buck, excessive fees with generally arrogant management. Oh, they tend to be rather nice but that is before your boat is hoisted out. After that, watch out!

Keel 24 hours after being put in water and hauled out at another marina, Keel was not prepped in any way. No primer used. Rip Off!!

Bottom line up front: you won't find a better mechanic or better human being to work on your boat…read morethan Mike LeBoeuf. If you read no further, know that Mike and his team will do the job extremely well and do it right. I am surprised that there are not more reviews on here, but I attribute that to the LeBouef's strong word of mouth business in the Keys and relatively small online presence. I witnessed this first hand, meeting SEVERAL people in Key Largo who went out of their way to vouch for Mike and his incredible reputation. I got to see first hand just how experienced and meticulous Mike is, and even more impressively, what a stand-up guy he is. How was this so clear to me? Well, I was very fortunate to recently purchase a meticulously maintained boat from the LeBoeuf's, and through the process got to know Mike and his lovely wife Lori on a personal level. They are expanding their business and needed to sell the boat. Being a relatively novice boater who recently moved to Key West, I was a skeptical buyer keenly aware of my own inexperience, and I spent a large portion of the long drive up to Key Largo wondering if I would regret not having a professional surveyor accompany me. As it turns out, a surveyor would have been useless as Mike essentially did it all himself, while giving me an education in how to properly survey a boat in the process (e.g. at one point he was literally hanging from the motor while shoving it down to demonstrate the strength of the newly customized transom). We came to an agreement soon after, and my "new" (1987) boat stands as a glowing endorsement to the meticulous work the LeBoeuf's are known for... The story doesn't end there. While on the trip home to Key West with the boat, one of the tires blew on the trailer and I didn't have a spare. It was night-time, and my wife and son were with me. On a whim I texted Mike to let him know our predicament, and Mike and his wife Lori DROVE 45 MINUTES WITH A SPARE TRAILER TIRE AND HELPED ME CHANGE IT (an extra 1+30 ROUNDTRIP ). He didn't have to do that. Money had already exchanged hands, and this boat was no longer his or his responsibility, but he and Lori extended their already long day to help us out for no other reason than that is the kind of people these folks are. My only complaint is that these folks aren't located closer to Key West. People like the LeBoeuf's are hard to find these days; trust them with your boat!

I can say working with Joe is awesome and it is rare these days to work with any trade or industry where the experience is this easy. Highly recommend.

My experience was very similar to manuels.. drove many hours to look at a boat that was "for…read moresale".. being I am a mechanic, I was going to be going over all the details myself. I was told on the phone that and sea trials were "encouraged". Arrived to find the guy I had been talking to for a month wasnt there. It was a complete clusterfk. None of the information I was told was available was there. I was dealing with a guy who said he was "just the detailer" who then tried to tell me the price of the boat had gone up.. After that argument, it was time to sea trial.. I was told their insurance company says they have to charge 200 dollars for that. BULLSH1T! Their insurance company takes their premiums like any other, they have no say in charging 200 dollars for a sea trial. They just flat lie. After telling them to KMA on that ditty.. they then decided it was ok to do. I had to use MY truck to haul the boat to the ramp.. nice. And stop for fuel along the way because it was empty. Once launched and on the water.. headed west.. the boat started taking on water.. had 4 inches in the cockpit. I trimmed bow up and blasted toward shore. Turns out the valve was broken off the scupper and there was nothing to keep the water out. Pulled it back to their shabby operation where I was fkd around even further. The "detailer" was now doing up sales paperwork and adding additional line items to the cost.. extra 75 here, 250 there 350 here.. I questioned this and was fed an excruciating line of BS. One was that they were required by law to provide the safety equipment on the boat, so I had to be "charged" for it. I saw what was onboard, it was the same old dirty stuff the boat came to them with .. more lying. I had set up to debit the purchase.. then was informed they have no way to run a card.. what kind of business cannot run a card?? Ill tell you, shoddy, sloppy, fly by night sheister types. They wanted cash or a wire transfer to a bank in another state.. hmm. The idiot also said "his insurance company" would not allow him to take a check either. Pi$$ down my neck and tell me it's raining.. no insurance company gives a tinkers damn how you take payments for "business" transactions.. liars. After which a phone call is made to the "owner" Ken and the price is jacked up another 775 dollars.. I am like "what?!?!?".. and "detailer guy".. who admitted he does the ads as well, who was now finance guy.. says, "oh I made a mistake on the paperwork" I thought you were just the "detailer".. At that point I was done.. told them to shove it all up their ass and pound sand there after. Steer clear of this fly by night scamming, lying, sheister. The whole place and crew are sketchy as hell and will lie straight to your face without ao much as a second thought
