I noticed they had plenty of empty spots, so I asked if they would consider renting me a monthly spot. They agreed, and I have been a responsible neighbor paying my monthly bill ever since (it's now 2025). I was always well aware that they would always need to prioritize tenants, and that it could be a reality one day that they'd need that spot. That, however, is not the issue at hand. Some time around Nov 2024, a new tenant started parking to my left. They were CONSISTENTLY an issue. Parking crooked, parking in my spot, parking over the line, etc. I complained to them numerous times, because once they park weird, then I have to and so does the next person, etc. It was never a big issue because the spot at the very end of the line (which is right up next to a telephone poll) had always been empty so we had some leeway. Beginning of Feb 2025, someone started parking in the very last spot next to the telephone poll. Thus, everyone must park perfectly so that person has room to park. One day I'm pulling out from my spot and am stopped by the building manager. He starts saying that I need to park straight so other people can park straight. I kindly explain that of course I always do my best to park straight, but the tenant next to me is notorious for not, so then my hands are tied. He kept saying "I know, but YOU need to park straight" as if I was the issue. This went on for over 5 minutes, with him blocking my car, putting his hand through my window and verbally harassing me. He then threatened to call management and have my spot taken. I reported HIM to management. I can't explain how violating that was, especially since I have been a respectful parker for 6 years! I have never had a complaint once about my parking. Since the new tenant came, I have a camera roll FULL of photos of the actual parking culprit, and I can't even tell you how many countless photos there are of that person parking like a complete jerk. I soon get a call that my spot is terminated. I explain the situation - they said nothing of the fact that I was harassed. Susan Caren, who I spoke with, defended her employee's inappropriate conduct. I asked her directly if my spot would have been taken had this incident not happened, and in one breath said both "well no but we need to prioritize our residents". Which as I said at the beginning, I understand you need to prioritize your residents, but also your residents are the ones not parking correctly. If it was truly that and not caused by the incident, I would have received an email or call without being harassed by the building manager. Also, for a woman to dismiss another young woman who said she was harassed by your middle-aged male employee without even an apology for his behavior is a disgusting business practice. As of March 1, I have been parking somewhere else and have noticed my spot has NOT been filled by anyone else, so seems like they didn't need the space that badly to me. Don't deal with these people if you care about doing business with companies that actually care how they treat people!

Remember when Chicago Top Agent Magazine called Ream Masoud one of the top agents back in 2015 for…read moreher "honesty, integrity, and creativity"? Yeah, apparently that was a long time ago--because my recent experience makes me wonder if they should consider taking that one back. I rented a house from Ream and her company, Dream Realty Services, for two years. Everything was fine until the end, when she told me she didn't want to renew the lease. Fair enough--I appreciated the heads-up. We agreed I'd move out by June 30, 2025. She also told me a new lease would begin on July 1. We agreed on an exact day and time for the move-out inspection and key handover: Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. So what did my family and I do? We drove an hour from our new place, spent hours deep-cleaning the house in 90-degree heat--scrubbing the fridge, oven, bathroom, everything. When I messaged Ream that we were ready, she casually replied she wasn't available. "How about tomorrow?" Seriously? We held up our end of the agreement--she just... didn't show. No explanation, no solution. I waited for hours with no guidance on what to do with the keys. So I did the responsible thing: I filmed the whole place (which looked great), left the keys on the kitchen counter, locked up, and left. Later that night, Ream messaged saying she didn't have keys to get in. You'd think a landlord would, you know, have keys to her own property? I even suggested going through an open window--seriously, it was easier than this nonsense. She said she'd "check" if she had keys somewhere. Honestly, you can't make this stuff up. Fast forward ten days--yes, ten--on July 8, she messages to say the dryer isn't drying and the fridge isn't cooling. I told her both were working fine when we left (we literally used the dryer on move-out day), and as for the fridge, I'd reported issues months earlier. She sent someone who basically did nothing, so we just lived with it, knowing we were moving. Now, somehow, it's my fault that the fridge allegedly failed--after we moved out, after new tenants supposedly moved in. Am I going to be blamed for a burnt-out light bulb next month? To make things worse: today is July 29, the 30th day since I moved out, and she has still not returned my security deposit--or even provided an itemized list of deductions as required by Cook County law. That's not just shady, it's illegal. She's in clear violation of the Residential Tenant and Landlord Ordinance (RTLO). Even if you're buying--not renting--why put your money in the hands of someone who doesn't honor basic legal obligations or contracts? It's clear she plans to withhold my deposit over this made-up drama. After two full years of trouble-free tenancy, this is how it ends. I'm more than ready to take every step necessary to recover what I'm owed. "Honesty and integrity"? Not in my experience. I can't recommend Ream Masoud or Dream Realty to anyone who expects fairness, professionalism, or lawful treatment. Dream Realty? More like Nightmare Realty.

Also, things weren't done in a timely manner and any delay with the listing and processing of paperwork was always her "assistant's fault." Overall, clear lack of professionalism.

Amy listened to all we had to say and carefully found great listings for us to consider and see in person. At the time, we were living out of state and decided that we wanted to spend a weekend in Chicago to check the properties ourselves(I would highly recommend you do this if you are in a similar situation as it's easier to get a feel for things in person vs pictures/videos). We looped Amy into the dates that we would be here and she worked her magic and had all of our listings showed to us on a single day. The night before, we saw a listing become available on the market and also asked Amy to include that in the showing. She worked diligently and made it happen come showing day. Amy's got great communication skills and made the whole process a breeze! Since we did not have a car with us, she even offered to drive us to the showings and also show us around the neighborhoods. Such a stressful experience if done on your own but again, Amy made it such a great, and easy one. Since she houses her business in the building, she or others in the office are always available to receive packages and even go out of their way if I lock myself out, which I have done a few times. There are building developers who leave the new owners to sort out any problems which arise, but Saima and Northside are NOT that kind of people.
