I wish I didn't have to give a star at all. If you go to the Key mortgage website, the clever marketing says "If you have dreams....we have solutions." This is so ironic to me because Key Mortgage CRUSHED my dreams, all because I trusted them. 2 months ago, my realtor came to my home with an offer from a buyer to buy the property. My husband and I were thrilled because we needed to sell our home in order to buy our DREAM home. The offer came in from a buyer who had a PRE APPROVAL LETTER from Key Mortgage. My realtor told me that she works with Key Mortgage all the time and they are very reliable. The Key Mortgage website even said that a pre approval letter from their company will help a buyer buy a home and a seller be reassured. Well, that's just the beginning of the false promises from Key Mortgage. Long story short, the incompetent employees of Key pre approved our buyer without checking all her information, and she did not actually qualify for the loan. EIGHT DAYS before we were supposed to close, Key mortgage pulled out and the deal was dead. Key Mortgage admitted their mistake and gave the buyer back her application fees, but left US in the dust. Meanwhile, WE, a family of 6, was ALL PACKED, had a deal on our DREAM HOME that we had to cancel, and were left standing stunned, holding a worthless pre approval letter. The owner even contacted our attorney and offered all of his help to fix the problem and get the deal to go through, but then was out of the office when we tried to move forward. He made false promises to us, then disappeared. KEY MORTGAGE SCREWED US OVER. Do NOT be fooled by this company and their false promises. Save yourselves some time and heart ache. Use CHASE read more

Our family relocated to the Chicago market from Arizona and after 6 months of renting we made an offer on the dream home we will raise our 5 children in. The listing agent at Baird & Warner recommended Key Mortgage Services, and referred us to Craig Thurston, a loan officer at the company. I could not have asked for an easier, more seamless transaction. We provided the information over the phone for a pre-auth and received a letter that day which we provided to the listing agent, with our offer. Craig helped us decide on a loan and told us exactly which documents we would need to verify income and qualify for the loan. The next day I was at the Baird & Warner office meeting with Craig where I filled out the application and provided most of the documents. Subsequent documents were provided to him a few days later. Over the following week his assistant requested the final missing documents and they submitted the loan to underwriting. We were informed a week before our 7/31 deadline that we were clear to close. When we shopped around for our loan our requirements were 1) good loan terms and 2) the ability to close by the end of the month. We made our offer on Tuesday July 7th, and closed today, July 31st. Mike Tobin with Key Mortgage was put into a challenging situation and still pulled it off! After switching lenders due to uncertainty in successfully obtaining a loan, Mike was already under strict time constraints. He was honest, forthcoming, and up for the challenge. Mike began the process with me while driving home from the office, and continued to put the pieces together that weekend. We then sat down together and he took the time to explain all of the numbers to me, and seemed to really enjoy his job. We kept in contact, even at late hours of the night. If any phone call was unanswered by Mike, he would return it within the hour. He also responded to text messages within a couple minutes. Finally, 2 weeks prior to the already short time constraint, my loan was approved. I have already referred Mike to others and will continue to do so. The Key Mortgage website was set up to easily navigate and made it easy to upload any necessary documents and to view the progress of your loan. This was an absolutely amazing team to work with in buying my first home this July! Key Mortgage and Ron Haddad a top mortgage broker there did an absolutely amazing job getting me qualified and then helping me jump through a number of hoops to get me to the closing table last summer. Ron is an extremely knowledgeable and very professional mortgage broker. My FHA mortgage was not an easy deal to get done but between Ron and the team he has at Key mortgage my family has a beautiful home and its Ron I have to thank for that. Awful, Awful, Awful! I closed on my home back in 2013. I've only decided to write a review now because I wrote a wonderful review for another mortgage company that my fiance and I decided to go with. They helped us purchase our home and are now assisting us with re-financing. Thankfully, we ended up buying our dream home in 2013 but it was no thanks to Key Mortgage. They were very unorganized, made a lot of errors on our paperwork, and toward the end of our process, the individual that was working with us quit. They tried to have us work with someone else and IT WAS EVEN MORE OF A MESS (just when I thought it wasn't possible)! Thankfully, my friend from the other mortgage company stepped in. Not everyone can be so lucky though so my advice is to save yourself the trouble and just go elsewhere!!! read more

This was my first purchase in Chicago and my first purchase since 2006. I was advised the whole process has changed and while I sure did have to give a lot of documents and information I was told upfront this would happen and they met every expectation they set. The loan officer took the time to give me options and let ME chose what was right for me. The seller was difficult and didn't use a real estate agent so communication was a bear - Key Mortgage went above and beyond to stay on the seller and make sure we got what we need in order to close. Buying a home isn't easy for anyone, but Key Mortgage made the process transparent and smooth- who could ask for more! Would highly recommend them to anyone buying or selling. read more

Worked with Ron Haddad and Kimberly Loomis, or I should say they worked and I just got the benefits. We were under pressure from the seller who wanted to close very quickly which under the new regulations would have been difficult, but Key Mortgage more than did it right. Ron took his time to review options and got me one that was really good for my current situation. Once the application was filled Kimberly processed the documents faster than I could bring the together. I would always receive a response from her within 30 minutes from my emails.
