Place is tiny. Really low selection of anything. Liquid8 is more unique in what it has to offer

My husband came in to buy a guitar while we were on vacation. The owner Jim was a super nice guy…read more They talked for awhile and looked over the selection. My husband found a basic Jasmine acoustic. It suited what he needed. He quoted $150 and preferred cash. He wouldn't budge on the price. Online, brand new, they were going for that or a little less. So there was no deal. A little overpriced really for a pawn shop, but supply and demand.. Ya know. We get it. And better to have spent money in a small business than a big corporation. He couldn't find the case.. Or even any picks, but my husband left happy that he had something to noodle with, so there are no complaints. The shop itself is a bit disheveled. Nothing is price marked. And the couple things I asked price on,I believed to be overpriced. But again, supply and demand. You're in a tourist spot on a small island.. so I guess it is what it is. He has a large selection of tools and building equipment. Fishing poles. Knickknacks. And what nots. Certainly worth stopping in, if not to just say hi to the guy and listen to his stories.

DO NOT GOT HERE. HES ALREADY BEEN RAN OUT OF HIS FIRST LOCATION FOR SHADY BUSINESS…read more This man literally stole my chain, lied about losing it, and gave me pennies on the dollar for it, and then threatened me with violence when I brought up the fact I was cheated out of my dead brother's gold chain. The old owner even told me I should call the cops because he doesn't actually have his pawn license or at least did not at that time. This was 2024 when it happened. Nobody go here! you will get robbed. Me and my family have lived in Marathon for 10+ years and I have never seen such an egregious theft that was so public and left completely unresolved. Avoid them at all costs, trust me. I was very naïve and young at the time, not that I'm much older/wiser now, but boy did he take advantage of me. I pawned a $3000 chain for $600 and came back with the $600 in cash not 4 days later to pick up my chain. He gave me the run around for nearly a week, Claiming he was out of town. Turns out he didn't have it! He claimed he lost the key to his safety deposit box that he put it in, and he needed his business partner's key to open it. His business partner apparently took two months to come to town and in the meantime, he trusted me with a fake Rolex watch to buy time and prevent me from going to the police. At the end of it all he came to my work while I was serving tables and said that he doesn't know what happened to the chain, but that he could help my father Ray, win his run for city Council if I just let it go and took the $1400 he was offering me in its place. Lucky for him. I was too stupid at that time in my life to look at the price and value of gold on the stock market. It was a 70gram, 18 karat solid gold, Cuban Link chain that was worth over $3,500. Not to mention that it belonged to my late brother who was a marine and died in an oil rig after returning from 2 tours in Afghanistan, which was explained to the Mr. "Jimmy Mac". The only reason I never called the cops was because I took the money in order to pay my rent, being that I was in a pinch at the moment. So there wasn't really much I could do. When I brought it to his attention that I felt mislead and lied to for monetary gain, he then threatened to come to my job and even my parents house bearing arms. Not that I was afraid, but I let this bully win because I don't want the drama in my life at that time. Now I am done being silent about this matter. DO NOT become his next victim. THERE ARE OTHER PAWN SHOPS AND YOU DO NOT NEED THE MONEY THAT BAD. TRUST ME!!!
