This last trip it was windy so we actually drove up and down the Keys multiple times being tourists. I stopped in my favorite bookstore in Islamorada to purchase another copy of Capt Fizz's book on Treasure Salving to re-read. When we got home, I started looking up some coin information online. I have a 1 Reale pendant that I love for the shape and I started thinking about maybe getting an (authentic) 8 Reale for my husband for his upcoming birthday. After quite a bit of looking, I kept coming back to one listed by DePaula Jewelers. Not so coincidentally it was a Capt. Fizz coin! I kicked myself for not getting this idea while I was THERE and could have shopped in person. I sent an email with a couple of questions and got a response the next day. My questions were answered and I was offered an incentive to purchase. SOLD! I PayPal'd the money and my purchase was mailed immediately. Thankfully the husband went offshore fishing today so *I* got the mail. O_O. The only drawback is that now I have to wait to give the gift! It is SO cool. I feel like I got 5 star service even with an online purchase. And I like that I got to shop from my home away from home. I recommend this store for unique items and superb service.

It was within the warranty period from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was giving me problems about fixing my watch. I contacted them and Billy had the issue resolved almost immediately. This is a great local establishment. I shop mostly at the south store here in islamorada because of close proximity to home. I was looking at my receipts and comparing them to my online banking transactions and saw a discrepancy. I called and said just that. The lady said, in a very nasty way "tthere are signs all over the place, there is a 3.9% extra charge to use a credit card". First, I was asking in a polite way and you don't need to attack me. Second, is gouging really a nice practice as it adversely affects your local population too? Or do they know not to come to this business because you do gouge? Anyway, next year, we won't come here and will call to see who is the best bait place to go to that respects their customers and neighbors.
