I don't know what it is with this KFC location, but they NEVER get the order right. They also refuse to make a Twister even though it's listed on their menu. Today I ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwiches, a chicken breast, two biscuits, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. ONLY ONE SANDWICH was included in the order. This has happened many times and I have to report it to Doordash to get a credit. The chicken sandwich I did receive was not made with a chicken breast, but three little chicken tenders. We had come in on a Sunday and waited over half an hour. There was no communication about the wait especially since over twenty minutes of that wait was at the speaker. When I got to the window I paid for my order and after I was given my receipt back my order was wrong. I asked to speak to a manager and he was great. He said my next order could be comped but when I came back today (five days later) they said they could not honor it as the man "had no authority to comp a meal" and instead offered only five dollars off. This version of the KFC franchise is fantastic! Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a Pepsi. Sandwich and fries were fresh and hot and the Pepsi was cold and fizzy. I got change from my $10 and was on my way in like 3 minutes. The service was courageous and quickly efficient. The sandwich is a real boneless piece of KFC fried chicken, with a crispy pickle and super spicy sauce. Delicious!! The foil bag really keeps the sandwich warm. Great touch. The chicken sandwich war saga continues. This is my third fast food restaurant that I've reviewed in my search for the best chicken sandwich. See my two previous reviews for Popeyes and Burger King (BK). I must say, I was a bit skeptical about KFC's offer before even trying it. I mean, there weren't a ton of vehicles waiting in line to order this sandwich. Traffic wasn't stopped in the middle of the street. This sandwich was the exact same price as Popeyes ($3.99) and less than BK's ($5.89). The chicken breast exceeded BK's in size, but maybe 10% smaller than Popeye's. KFC had the spiciest chicken sandwich, hands down. The hot mayo they slathered on put it over the top on spicy. Their chicken breast was moister than the rest and had a perfect crunch. The bun was just okay compared to Popeye's, but overall flavor, size, moister, crunchiness goes to KFC. I know I'm going to get some hate and incredulousness, but I have to put KFC ahead of Popeyes in the war so far. On to more fast food chicken sandwich restaurants. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!! They have become absolutely horrible. Zero customers service. Rude employees and borderline fraud. I placed an order which included 3 pieces of white meat chicken. I am more than willing to pay extra for this. After waiting 20 minutes in line, I get to the window and CONFIRM AND ASK POLITELY that it is all white meat. The rude employee looked at the receipt and nodded "yes". I got my soggy order and drove home. I screwed up and didn't open all my boxes to confirm AGAIN the order. Of course I get home and what do I have...two legs and a thigh!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Of course the manager wont answer the phone and "corporate" is a computer. The good thing is that I will be eating less fast food and cooking more. These businesses and owners don't care about customers, only about lower food quality and making money. The employees are all horrible, rude and take no pride in work, but upon reflection, I can't really blame them too much which how they get treated (obviously horrible with how customers are thought of). Anyways, enough ranting, please go to Churches's or Popeyes and avoid KFC in Bernalillo. Maybe someday Golden Pride will expand to Rio. read more

In 2016 I gave this place a glowing review. Sadly now I feel compelled to adjust it down. First admission is that I don't go to KFC often at all so my last 3 visits contain 2 pre covid visits and this latest one last week. We are talking years in span on 3 visits. Honestly because I don't eat fast food much, but also because even before covid this place seemed to be continually advertising for all shifts and various management positions. That kind of turn over just said problems in the location to me so I avoided it. My adjustment down does not come from service as that has always seemed pleasant, but rather food quality. At least from this location. The last visit was the last straw for me and I won't be back. In each of my last 3 visits I have ordered fries. EVERY time they have been lukewarm, leathery and chewy. Like they were made the night before and sat all night under a heat lamp to keep them somewhat warm for orders the next day. The chicken and other sides also seem to have been sliding in quality and freshness. On this last order I was going to order 2 meals. One reg recipe and the other extra crispy. I ordered them thru the drive thru. Was told that they were out of regular recipe and only had crispy and would be 20 min for any reg would be available. That is astounding to me to be out of the mainstay of the business as you have systems in place to keep your supply. Either way I ended up just ordering one meal of extra crispy. I get my meal quickly thru the drive thru and pull away. What I find is my mac n cheese is a congealed glob, my biscuits are doughy, the fries are leathery and old seeming and to top it off, the extra crispy order is found to be a soggy regular recipe chicken. Did not seem even close to fresh or moist. Just blah. So, a fan of KFC from childhood, but now I'm done. Loss of my tiny business will mean nothing to them, but I hope they can turn around the quality issues as it would be a shame to see another of the long standing big names dissapear. read more

Bernalillo location: waited five minutes at the order intercom to place order. Ordered popcorn chicken combo, no drink. Was told I have to get a drink. Didn't want the drink, agreed to pay the combo price regardless if I get a drink or not. Also ordered a six piece wings and two extra biscuits. Get to window, she tries to hand me a random drink. Waited for food. Got bag of food. Get home, we have a pot pie, two biscuits, fries and hot sauce. WTF! This location is the worst. Called about 10xs to ask for a refund. The recipe is not the only thing you guys keep secret, where the food and employees are is a pretty closely guarded secret as well. Why do you offer online order ahead, if all the doors are locked and you won't answer the phone to bring my food out. I orderer 50 dollars of food that was ready at 6:05 pm. I've been here since then waiting in the drive through. It's now 6:38 and I'm still 10 cars deep in the drive through. You can see the 3 or 4 people standing around behind the counter. Got home and no gravy, so I gave my wife the chicken and went back to the store to get my mashed potatoes AND gravy. The kid at the register acted as if my wanting to get my order correct was not a good thing. I told him I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy, and he said "You wanted gravy?' I said yes, and slowly, very slowly, he went to the another employee and finally got a gravy and handed it to me. I told him that the potatoes were now old since I had to come back all the way to the store. He acted put out that he had to walk 25 feet to get me more potatoes.
