I have a bad experience with the university branch, I ordered online, and when I arrived at the store, I had to wait 44 minutes, while I received a warning that the order was ready, but unfortunately they did not receive the order in the first place, and then they gave me a missing order, and the worker's clothes are really very dirty, the last time I ordered from KFC

Mar 2020 Hope they make it permanent.

What a great KFC! I've been to many KFCs throughout the country and this was one of the nicest, well run version that I've been to. I went here for the beyond fried chicken which was being test marketed in early 2020 in the Charlotte area. I knew 6 pieces wouldn't be enough, so I sprung for the 12-piece and got 6 plain and 6 with Nashville Hot sauce. I'm not 100% sure if the sauce was vegan, but I figured it wouldn't kill me. The square nuggets themselves aren't "vegan" due to the fact their cooked in the same oil as their chicken fried chicken. But all of the ingredients are non-animal based. Everyone from the people taking orders to the staff in the back was super friendly. For a busy lunch crowd on a rainy day, they were awesome. The food came out quickly and I was in and out and back to the office in under an hour (mostly due to the traffic in the area). The presentation of the food was great too. The trays were nice with a wood-grain pattern and the food was hot and fresh. The beyond fried chicken is pricey though. I wish they had a 9 piece as I knew from a previous KFC that 6 wasn't enough. 12 was too many for one person, even a fast food junkie! (I did eat it all, but was super stuffed). The steep hill kinda sucks, but it is what it is. You can go in from the back behind the QT if you're a timid driver.

Ordered through Door Dash, got a chicken sandwich plain, large mashed potatoes, a biscuit, and a large sweet tea. Honestly, chicken sandwich was made as asked, potatoes were great. Biscuit was hard but I don't mind. The 1 star is for the fact that my Sweet Tea is UNSAFE FOR CONSUMPTION. It smells like a gym rag you left in a dark warm closet for an entire season. The stench of mildew coming from my drink is unbearable.

My family was hungry went here because I was in the area and chicken sounded good. This location by far is a disappointment. The wait was very long but that's fine I didn't mind. My chicken LOOKED COOKED but it wasn't cooked all the way at all which is the worst thing that you could receive ( undone chicken). They ran out of sides so that was another wait. The coleslaw was very dry and the mashed potatoes just didn't taste right. The Mac n cheese was good and the biscuit was super hard. The dining room wasn't open but for some reason was dirty. Cashiers was all over the place but not professional in any way. I don't recommend this location. It's sad because kfc could be really good but unfortunately they always slack off.

Fried Chicken that I'm having to reheat bc we waited almost 40min for biscuits.

Terrible service, terrible food. I ordered $35 for food that they gave me no biscuits and no gravy. I pulled back around for them to tell me the biscuits were cooking but didn't even tell me. I have soggy chicken, a soggy broken bag and not even one pack of honey that I asked for. I've now watched other walk in to complain. I've been waiting now over 30min. I've watched people play with there hair and still fix food. Some things needs to be done about this location.

Well packed. Nicely prepared. And the potatoes are so good!

Every time I eat here the food come fresh and I have all of my items I wanted. Say the tenders are small i never thought they'd give a extra one, or just remaking orders like the reviews below aren't nice. I've seen them busy and taking orders and all I can say is ordering fast food isn't for the impatient and definitely not for the inconsiderate. They some nice ppl there.

Flights from Guatemala would arrive, and passengers would walk off the plane carrying bags of Pollo Campero. The aroma was unforgettable. Ever since then, I've been curious about what made this chicken so special. Fast forward to Charlotte, and now I finally understand the hype. I stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the four-piece roasted chicken meal with sweet plantains, coleslaw, and a roll. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The chicken was juicy and packed with spices that set it apart from your typical fast-food chicken chain. It's hard to explain until you try it, but the seasoning has a distinctive flavor that makes Pollo Campero uniquely its own. The sweet plantains were excellent. Soft, caramelized, and sweet with those slightly crispy edges that make plantains so addictive. The coleslaw was cold, creamy, and crunchy, which paired perfectly with the chicken. The service was friendly, the value was excellent, and my order was accurate. I always take a moment to check my order before leaving the drive-thru, and everything was exactly right. If your fried chicken experience begins and ends with KFC, Bojangles, or Church's, give Pollo Campero a try. It's a delicious taste of Guatemala and a reminder that great chicken comes in many forms. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte.

Several excellent local restaurants, too. So I had high hopes today for Pollo Campero. PC was clean when I arrived at 12:30. Quite busy with about a third of the tables in use and the remaining were clear of dirty dishes. Surprising because they don't have a trash can that I could see - the staff bus and clean tables, clearing them swiftly. I ordered a three piece at the counter and it didn't take long until a running found my tent card and I was able to start. The chicken was thoroughly cooked, still moist. Not much for flavor in the skin today, it needed some hot sauce to bring out the taste. The cole slaw was creamy and crisp. Still good but also a little bland. The small dinner roll wrapped in plastic was fresh and fluffy. Overall, it's a nice little fast food spot. If you're looking for something in a known quantity along South Boulevard near the light rail, this will work nicely. [Review 728 of 2025 - 4162 in North Carolina - 24288 overall]
