You can come in the the convention center and order here, even if you aren't a guest here! Service was quick, not that friendly, but whatever. One star off because they got my order wrong and I didn't realize until I had already left. But good, standard chicken and biscuit!

There's not too many options available in the Charlotte Convention Centre food court and I saw a lot of people eating out of these red and yellow boxes so I thought I should try it. It lives up to its word - awesome fried chicken and biscuits. The biscuits were fresh and super fluffy. Make sure you ask for jam to have with them.

I visited this location on Sunday during the bridal show. I ordered 2 chicken filet biscuits. After I had taken a couple of bites of the second one, I realized I was eating raw chicken. I reached out to their corporate office who said the franchise owner would contact me. I spent Monday at home with food poisoning.

I attended a conference at the Charlotte Convention Center and was sooo happy to find a Bojangles available in the food court.

By the…read moretime we got settled in, dining options were pretty limited, so we searched online and this spot looked like the best choice -- and we're glad we found it. When we pulled up, there was a police outside, which didn't bother us. If anything, it made things feel more secure. They also use a metal detector when you walk in before being seated. Don't let that scare you off though -- this place is a well-oiled machine and everything felt organized and under control. Our server was fantastic: calm, attentive, and never pushy. I ordered the country fried steak with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my husband got a burger. My meal was excellent, and it came with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The tea was Southern SWEET tea, too. My husband said his burger was good for a diner, fresh vegetables and the fries were seasoned well. The diner itself is adorable, full of character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back.

Review for Midnight Diner…read more classic, retro-style diner--the kind with a counter, cozy booths, and a nostalgic vibe. The only thing missing is a waitress calling you "hon," and honestly, that might be part of the charm. I was craving a West Coast favorite--chicken fried steak--which I quickly learned is called country fried steak here in the South. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner... it didn't matter. I wanted comfort food, and this place delivered. I ordered takeout and picked it up without any hassle. They have their own private parking lot, which is a huge plus, especially for an Uptown location. It's situated right across from the Hyatt Regency and along the light rail, so I can imagine it gets very busy--particularly if you're heading to or leaving the Spectrum Center. This is exactly the kind of spot where you grab a solid meal to soak up whatever you've been celebrating. And the food? Generous. Very generous. My order included: * Country fried steak with gravy * Mashed potatoes * Pancakes * And, because curiosity got the best of me, their coconut French toast That coconut French toast was the wildcard--and it did not disappoint. Sweet, indulgent, and definitely a treat. Between that and the rest of the meal, it was a lot of food, but I was very happy. The price point is reasonable, the service was fast, and the whole experience felt easy and reliable--exactly what you want from a diner. Next time, I'd like to sit inside and enjoy the full experience, because the atmosphere looks like part of the fun. As someone still exploring Charlotte as a foodie after relocating from the West Coast, it's always nice to find places that deliver those nostalgic comfort-food moments--and this one absolutely did. Bottom line: Great comfort food, generous portions, easy parking, and a classic diner vibe. A solid go-to spot in Uptown, especially when you're hungry and want something satisfying.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

I live super close to Optimist Hall, so it's been on my radar for a while. This particular night I wasn't feeling great, so I DoorDashed instead of dining in. I ordered the Royale with crispy fries and let me just say... I get it. The burger was genuinely impressive. The quality of the beef stood out immediately. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The meat to bun ratio was spot on, which is crucial. Nothing worse than a bread heavy burger. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the build was balanced, and even after delivery, everything held up beautifully. So far I've tried two burger spots in Charlotte, and this one takes the top spot. I'm not ready to declare it the best in the entire city just yet because my burger tour is ongoing, but right now it's leading the race. I'll definitely be going to Optimist Hall soon to try it fresh off the grill and experience the service and atmosphere firsthand. Expect an update. But based on this first round alone, Harriet's is absolutely worth the order. Burger lovers, this one deserves a try.

But no, this cookout gave me quite the opposite. I went to the doctor after and they diagnosed me with PTSD. From now on whenever I hear the phrase, "cookie dough milkshake", I break out in cold sweats and get light headed. But anyways back to the story, I went through the line asking very little of the employees; 3 burgers, 2 trays, and 3 milkshakes. Pretty easy right? Apparently not. The food comes out in surprisingly good time, so kudos to them for that. But when we got our food and left we realized something was gravely wrong. The milkshakes - they were... it pains me to say this but, they were vanilla. I thought I clearly specified the flavors of my milkshakes. But apparently this cookout has other plans. I will give them credit because the rest of my order was good. So the moral of the story is don't get the milkshakes form cookout.
