THE COLONEL'S LUNCH COMBO KFC has finally jumped on the "$5 box" bandwagon with convincing results. Just as I recently discovered that not all Burger Kings are created equal, not all KFC's assure the same level of apathy and inaccurate orders. Some--like this location on Archer Ave in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood of Chicago--are actually quite good. I've been here a few times for lunch and never encountered an issue. My 8pc nuggets were hot, juicy, and drenched in the very flavorful honey sriracha sauce. Combos come with fries but I asked to sub out for mashed potatoes w/gravy no problem. They even gave me 2 tubs of their 'sticky chicky' sweet & sour, plus a honey packet for the biscuit I forgot about. If you order online, you can get an a la carte chicken sandwich for half price ($2.50, normally $5) in addition to other meal deals, like free saucy nuggs w/$10 purchase. The guy at the drive-thru was much friendlier than I expected, so I was happy to round up my order total for the KFC Foundation, which benefits employees and their families. * TL;DR * A lot of other folks have dragged this KFC in the past for lousy customer service and poor quality food, but things must've changed over the last few years. My experiences here have more or less been terrific (for a fast food place, that is). I'll probably come back here every couple weeks for a cheap, tasty $5 lunch combo that includes 8pc nuggies, a side, biscuit, and drink. Wow, It's been years since I've had KFC. Today decided to give it a try. Ordered 8 piece classic chicken. And can honestly say it was the worst chicken I've had in my life. It arrived luke warm, it could have been easily been sitting in the warmer since they opened this morning. The breading was soggy, and chewy. The chicken was dry. The oil tasted dirty and old. I placed a mobile order on the KFC app on 11/09/2025 around 4:50pm and arrived around 5:00pm and the cashier said it was going to be about a 20 minute wait so I sat down and a lady walks in and ordered 20 pcs of chicken and she waited around 15 minutes and they gave her her order before me so I asked the cashier how much longer for my order and she said about another 20 minute I already had waited about 30 minutes so about an hour since I arrived I finally got my food. So before I left I asked for the GM name and her name so I can call and complain and she refused to give me the names I asked for. Very rude and unprofessional and very bad customer service! Good grief what a joke! Either the girl working here is trying to get fired or is fooling around with the boss- more likely trying to get fired since she's the only person in here. One day I come in and the music is too loud to hear your self think and she holds the line up to chat with her friend who is in their selling stuff to her and customers, then another day my elderly mother goes in to order and brace yourself for this one: Mom said she thought they weren't open because there were no cars and no one inside, but tried the door anyway. She goes inside, the music is too loud, but the same girl (Mom was with me the other time) comes out to take her order. Mom says 2 words to her, the girl was offended and handed Mom back her coupon saying "I refuse to wait on you." Mom left telling the girl " I can see why nobody's here!" and went to McDonald's instead! Waste of gas and time since she lives closer to McDonald's than to KFC. DO NOT COME TO THIS STORE, My first time coming to this store, I asked a question and the manager was being rude and she had and attitude, when I asked why she had an attitude she said she didn't. She couldn't handle me asking her and she basically told me to fuck off and turn the speaker off so pulled up to the window and she didn't let the other employees helped me they came to window until they needed me to move, She treated me on calling the policy if I didn't move, and I keep telling them I'm just trying to order. They kept closing the window on me and told me if I wanted to order I had to go around again. And here comes the manager with red hair, being a bitch again with her attitude. My daughter got so scare she beg me to leave, she said mommy I'm not hungry anymore. When of course she was. I only left because of my daughter. I was genuinely impressed by this KFC location! It's just your basic KFC, but the staff is amazing. I came in on a Sunday around 5pm. They got my order out faster than I ever thought possible. Everything was correct and fresh. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo meal and it tastes great, the mac and cheese was good, their soda machine is clean. I will come back if I'm in the area, I've never had such efficient service at a KFC before. The negative reviews scared me at first, but they're definitely doing something right today read more

Absolutely horrible! Our chicken was old, it's suppose to be extra crispy and not one piece is. The Mac n cheese is a weird color not like it usually is. They shorted us two biscuits and they're not answering their phone for me to report it! I've had problems at this location before. If there was a way I could give negative stars, I certainly would. I am a big fan of Taco Bell, especially the chalupas. This store normally doesn't excel in customer service due to its obvious lack of standards when hiring employees. Yesterday, I had an experience that would rival and easily trump any less than perfect experience I had at this store. I was craving some tacos at a friends house and we decided to make it happen. It was about 10:49 when I got into the drive-through lane. Normally they do not respond right away but when seven minutes passed by with no response I figured something was up. There was only one car in front of me so the store was no packed. At this point I figured they were attempting to evade me long enough for 11pm to hit, which is when they close. Ten minutes had passed with no response which caused me to drive up to the window. I was greeted by an extremely rude and attitude filled what do you want to order. I asked her to greet me again, this time with no attitude. Her response was to repeat the exact same thing except this time adding sir. I then asked her to get her manager. The manger came to the window and greeted me with even more attitude. At this point I was visibly frustrated. There was no, "I apologize for your wait", "let me resolve your issues", no attempts at any sort of resolution. She then followed this attitude by closing the window on me. As you can see by the trend here, if you want any sort of good service while dining in or out at Taco Bell, avoid this location at all costs. If terrible service, rude employees, and slow waits are your thing, then by all means this is your place. read more

The person taking our order was disgusting he kept curling his front curl with his finger touching his hair and his pants could not stay up I've should of never came back after the first 3 x times came prior to this one they had closed early due to something wouldn't say the last two were out of grilled chicken. The guy taking our order came to Mop outside his shoes were both ripped in the front could see his socks he would go back take orders and grab the food until a customer had to tell him to wash his hands. What the Fuck where they thinking, giving away free food on the Oprah show. Every low life in the city, including myself was in line for food. The employees were ready to kill each other. This is the worst fast food chain location. KFC is great- this location is terrible. They are ALWAYS "out" of something. Last time they were out of chicken tenders and they gave me a hard time when I asked to substitute popcorn chicken for free. Today, they're out of BISCUITS! Biscuits, really?! Wouldn't substitute for an extra side. Said they would give us free drinks. Well the boxes come with drinks, so they said large drinks. What a joke. Remember when KFC was the best chicken restaurant around... I do,an it was done hot,freakn fast fresh an thorough. Well guess what people I found it. This Archer store 6040 S. Archer Ave was actually trained by the masters of customer service. Everytime i come here im impressed by the fact that my meal actually taste like what Sanders had in mind an yes i was offered honey an hot sauce with my meal.
