I will admit, I have driven past this place many times but failed to stop in. I saw posts on Facebook about their Wednesday wing special and decided to check it out. Upon entering I was greeted warmly and the place was nice and clean. I ordered the Wednesday special which was 10 wings with fries for $10. You get one sauce so I got mild sauce on the side. Additional sauce is available for a small fee. The wings were a nice size and were cooked to perfection- crispy, with good seasoning. They were absolutely delicious! The fries had a little salt and pepper on them as well. Everything was hot and fresh. I hate it has taken me so long to try this place but I will definitely return to try their shrimp and fish and of course, more wings. read more

I know this must be a prank! This is my first time ordering food from this restaurant. This tiny itty bitty cheesecake is $4.50! Wow! That is not a $4.50 worth of Cheesecake. Yes, it's good but it's a rip off! If you going to sell pie or cheesecake at your establishment you should consider adjusting the size of the dessert or lowering the price. If there was a picture showing the size of the Cheesecake I would not have purchased it. Consider adding a picture so us as consumers wont be bamboozled. Spoiler Alert: Best chicken tenders I have ever had. It was a blustery evening - a light snow whispered around me as I got out of my Jeep in search of some fried chicken. Nothing beats fried chicken when it's cold and the snow is beginning. I walked into this place - lit up and inviting and crossed to the counter where the woman was helpful and explained everything to me. I - uncharacteristically chose tenders. I rarely eat tenders, but lately I have been seeing friends order them and I thought I'd try. They come with fries and lemonade. When she brought them to the table I was struck with how big they were as well as how fresh and crisp the fries were. I always have to ask for well done fries - I forgot to ask and these were perfect. The chicken was also fresh and perfectly cooked. There was no grease or greasy aftertaste. They were truly delicious. I was feeling good. The snow wasn't going to bother me. The lemonade was tart and sweet and balanced perfectly. Love this place! One of my favorite chicken restaurants in the western suburbs. Casual always clean and Service is always very professional. The owner does a lot of volunteering and supporting local youth so that's always a plus. The chicken is always hot fresh well seasoned it has always been just consistently good. I promise I was eating like I never had fried chicken before lol also had the fried okra....THE BEST! Most places have frozen okra that are just tossed in oil yet I strongly believe these were not...just the way they were seasoned instead of that breaded stuff! On 3/21 I called at 8:32pm they close at 8:30. The voicemail had already picked up but the worker went ahead and still picked up the phone he said we are closed but I'll still accept your order. ok, kids. this one's for you... this chicken is OFF THE F'ING HOOK. damn. best chicken i've had since dooky chase in new orleans. it's a black-owned business with a convenient location. plenty of street parking and the owners are wonderful. and i'm not kidding - their chicken is amazing. crispy skin (even after a 20 minute ride home), most tender meat and perfectly seasoned. the okra is also amazing and the only drinks they sell are bottled water, homemade sweet tea, lemonade and three or four flavors of kool-aid. they have some great deals on mondays and tuesdays and we're definitely going back to try the chicken sandwich and fried catfish. the food is way too good to keep this place a secret. This is my first time going to this restaurant. The wings were very good, you get fries and coleslaw. The wings and fries were cooked to perfection, I did not need to add salt or pepper it was seasoned very well. It kind of taste like Harolds's chicken, I would say it's little better. The only reason I did not give it 5 star is the customer service was not very good, but I'm not there to make friends. Still good customer service is always a good thing. I love supporting a local black owned business. But, this business will be a never again for me. I saw the 5 star reviews and was like ok I have to stop in there one day. Well today was the one day I came inside to order some chicken. I was on my lunch break and happy that I was the only customer. I placed my order a 4 wing dinner fries included. I told the lady to make sure my wings were fried crispy (no mild sauce on the chicken only mild sauce on my fries. She handed me my receipts and told me it would be a 20 minute wait. I went back to my car and waited until 20 minutes. Went back inside my order wasn't ready. I waited and waited. I was now getting frustrated and ready to get my money back. The lady kept telling me my order would be up shortly. It was well over the 20 minute wait time. I thought maybe someone had to run out and buy some chicken wings. I get my order and nearly ran out of this place. I should of checked my order before I left. The chicken wings were so small no mild sauce on my fries. Better yet NO mild sauce to be found. Forgot to mention the lady was unprofessional when handing me my food. Not one apology came out her mouth for the long wait. I can say the chicken was very well seasoned and the fries were nicely hot and seasoned. But the service here sucks. I rather go to Uncle Remus next door next time. read more

I have family that reside in Broadview and they have been talking about this new chicken spot. I was thinking Ok no big deal another one to add to the list, along with Uncle Remus and Como's. Fast forward I was in Broadview around lunch time and decided to give them a try. I called in to place the order. Ordered 4 orders of a 4 piece with wings. Every order was specific and different. I must admit I just new they were going to get something wrong, but they did not! Impressive. The wings were really good and seasonsed very well. I do not like my sauce on my wings and prefer to add my own so I opted for the sauce on the side and honestly I could of eaten the wings without sauce, which is very rare for me when ordering fried wings out. This is what I meant by cooked and seasoned very well. You can tell evey order is made when placed and they not just making big batches of chicken and have them sitting waiting to sell. Price point is comparative to most chicken restaurants. I also like the fact it's a black owned business. It's good to see minorities opening businesses that predominatly blacks patronize and servicing this demographic. There was a QR code to scan which did not work nor did the website work from which they told me to order online. So I had to call them to place the order over the phone when I was just inside the restaurant and could have just placed my order then and there! I have also heard other stories from around the neighborhood about this place and some miscommunication. But it could have been an honest misunderstanding and the staff were not unfriendly, just a bit unorganized. The food was nothing special, I've had way better. The chicken was fried really hard and it was very dark, as if it stayed in old grease too long. It had a scorchy taste. The fish appeared to be fried in the same old grease. It was really hard on the outside but the inside was mushy. Maybe this was a bad day for the cook. The restaurant is located in broadview and I live in Rogers park so it was a hike to pick my food and go home but it was still fresh when I got back! I drove from Elgin to Broadview and what a disappointment. The chicken had a smear of mild sauce on it and the sauce was not that good. A small catfish has only one piece of fish and the fish is not fresh. The fish is some type of breaded catfish . The food was really salty. The best part of the meal were the fries. I will be sticking to BaBa's the food is so much better. The food was not good enough for me to go back again. The pictures on the website must have been photo shopped .
