The chicken is always great, always juicy the mashed potatoes are always hot and great, the french fries are always crisp. The service is always great even while being swamped by both the drive-thru and the walk-in customers in the lobby. My main complain is the music in the lobby; it was way to loud even while people were waiting the employees just turned it up while customers were yelling to turn the music down. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our order to be done when the restaurant wasn't even packed. The workers were rude and had no patience. We finnaly get the food and the chicken is soggy, the biscuits were dry and hard, and the Mac and cheese was gross. My whole family's stomach hurts after eating this. Very slow service...waited 10 minutes just to order because there was only one cashier. BUT when I did order, she was the nicest cashier ever and helped me make my decision on what I wanted to eat. I got the $5 famous bowl which reminded of my highschool cafeteria days. It was pretty good, not too salty and very creamy for fast food haha. Very good deal for the amount you get! I love KFC....... but there are a lot of flaws that could and much more importantly SHOULD be fixed by this franchise. 1st off stop forcing people to buy more food than they can eat. Your portions are either too small or FORCE YOU TO BUY CHICKEN STRIPS.... or even the smaller of the meals are wayyyy too big. I love the chicken and don't want to waste it by not finishing it.....which leaves no room for the sides (which I love too)......but, when you are forced to by like 6 extra pieces of chicken to get a decent deal on the sides, the sides get wasted and don't get touched. Why can't you have a deal with 4 or 5 or 6 pieces of chicken.....and 2 sides. NO, you just want to make more money. You don't care about your customers IMO. Until you offer a 6 piece bucket with 2 sides and 4 biscuits, I feel like you don't really care about your customers, or at least a customer like myself. Too much food.....too much sides, too much price. Last time I went to the KFC on Oxford st. in Hanover......they forgot my biscuits and when I called them to ask for free ones the next time I came they said I was liar and I just wanted free buiscuits.......I've never been to Hanover KFC since......but I have been to the Keyser Oak Plaza one, the Dickson City one, the one in Hamlin, and multiple times to the one in Kingston. Kingston one is superb, except they don't have green beans or corn sometimes, which I'm not sure why......out of season maybe ??? But on a whole, the Kingston store is very good :) Hamlin was in and out of construction and was unpleasant the 2 times I went as well as the one worker was extremely rude. Hopefully they'll be fired or quit by the next time I go there. The store is in a good location and the other workers seemed fine. Keyser Oak Plaza KFC was awesome, and the drive thru was fast and friendly, no qualms there !!! The Dickson City KFC building looked FILTHY and the drive thru person was just trying to rush us through.....no pleasantries there !!! read more

They ran out of breasts at 5:00 PM today. How poorly managed do you have to be to run out of food at the START of dinner service? Edit July 2016: I was looking at my Yelp page today. Some times, I'll look at businesses I've given bad reviews to, to see what's up today. I was surprised to see so few Yelp reviews on a chain place like this. I was surprised to see that their sole 4-star review was someone criticizing me. I mean really, me? In response to the comments made about my criticism of this location's management (see above); nearly everyone who got a work permit and spent at least a summer in fast food. As someone who ran away from fast food like I was a pretty college girl at Camp Crystal Lake and fast food was wearing a hockey, I can assure you it only takes five minutes of working in fast food to realize when you don't have a menu available. I worked at McDonald's, the fish and McBLT's were made fresh, because no one ordered it. If they were just out of the Original Recipe, I'd take that grilled stuff they sell (or even worse, extra crispy) instead, I remember they were out of all breasts, period. It's basic food management. They have a limited menu, an empty restaurant and no food at 5:00. That's poor management. I know my review is old, so maybe this location has new managers and everything has changed. How do I know, I never went back. That's the issue that poorly run restaurants have. It only takes one bad experience to never return. And I looked at restaurants that I gave poor and positive reviews to, many of them are out of business now. I'm sure this one survives because they have the ability to spread failure against successes. However, when the Wilkes-Barre Twp. location closed, people lost their livelihood. Good managers and employees take criticism as an opportunity to improve. Maybe they have, how would I know. I just didn't go back. That said, I'm a pretty reasonable person, if they said, "we just got slammed, we're out of breasts," I wouldn't have complained. If they said, "the fryer broke, we can't make more breasts," I wouldn't have complained. They chose to make me take to Yelp! Enjoy your day. read more

I love Kentucky Fried Chicken. A proud Yankee since birth, I would move to the Bluegrass State in a heartbeat if it meant I could live out the rest of my days eating only KFC, sipping fine bourbon, and overindulging in other Dixie charms. Alas, this particular Kentucky Fried Chicken did not inspire such paradisal visions of a southern utopia. I was initially served a tray that contained few of the food items I actually ordered. After trying to exchange my dinner for the one I paid for, a visibly stressed employee informed me that the kitchen staff had run out of extra crispy breasts and I would have to make due with lesser pieces of chicken. I also have to take a moment and mention the restroom - while it was relatively clean, the men's room lacked paper towels and was only equipped with a hand dryer. Being germ-conscious, I usually wash my hands before eating and use a paper towel as a type of glove so I don't have to touch the dirty doorknob upon exiting. Unfortunately, we live in a world where not everyone washes their hands before leaving the bathroom and therefore some surfaces are not safe to touch. Offering both an air dryer and a roll of paper towels in your restroom is a hygienic must. read more

So went through the KFC drive thru. Told biscuits will be 8 minutes so pull ahead and we'll bring it out to you. Got distracted by texting and playing with my car settings and noticed 5 cars go though the drive thru during this time and 2 people get out of their cars and walk in then out with their food. I think that at least one of those people had ordered biscuits so I look at my receipt and it says 513 PM, it's now 538 PM. I call inside and ask what's taking so long and they ask me who I am and what do I want. I say I'm the guy waiting 25 minutes for the biscuits that would take 8. In an annoyed voice I'm asked well do you still want it. No, it's either been sitting for 20 minutes or they're liable to screw with it, give me a refund. Ok, it'll be right out. I waited 10 more minutes and went inside. I asked the slacker with no soul at the counter to see the manager. The manager didn't come out or even look at me when I was asking what happened. I ask did they forget or something. No, we've just been really busy. Like I wasn't sitting there counting the cars and people for 35 minutes and knew exactly how busy they weren't. First off. I enjoy reading these comments by people who CLEARLY have never ran or worked in a restaurant. Yes it is very possible to run out of a certain item due to a few things. Demand for a product, food order hasn't arrived yet. I have never had a problem with KFC. So before people start complaining about managers or supply of an item, maybe you should think of how much was already sold that day. And the preparation time of each item. Would you make an entire meal for 60 when you are only going to feed 5? Food cost is an important factor. And NO I do not work for this establishment. read more

The restaurant is not the cleanest, especially the nasty bathrooms. The workers are lazy, unfriendly, and treat you like they are doing you a favor for taking your money. They lie about menu items being unavailable. I was actually told extra crispy and regular were the same thing. I know its not, and asked for extra crispy anyway. The fryer and cashier told me, "Are you sure, its the same thing, it just takes longer to cook". Apparently they think customers are stupid. I asked for extra crispy anyway, and still got regular. The biscuits were stale and the chicken looked like it been sitting for hours. The chicken s dry and the breading/skin had fallen off to the bottom of the bucket. The workers are rude, lazy, and don't care to improve because its been like this the last 3 times I went. 2 was for my family. I only returned because they USED to be good. The 3rd time I went with a co-worker, and nothing improved. It was a waste of my time coming home after a long day, and a waste of my money, to have to wait for trashy service and old, nasty food.
