The chicken was moist and flavorful, still very hot from the fryer. Hot enough that I had to start with a knife and fork to tear it up before I could dig in. My sides were okay. The potato salad was a mush. Pleasant flavor but no texture that leaned into mashed territory. The mac and cheese was good but overdone noodles and no "tang" from the cheese. I'd try other sides next time. Slappy's is consistently rated as a top fried chicken place in a state of great fried chicken places. The concept is top-notch and the chicken was great. My sides are M & C and Collards, and I get a small container of vinegar for the collards - the vinegar, other condiments, and other helpful items are up front to the far left of the counter. Once in a while l will get a scoop of their Chicken Salad. There is very little salad here - this made up of 99% diced chicken with a little mayo - the chicken is full of flavor. When home I add a bit of diced celery, a touch of chopped onion, a bit of dill relish, some parsley, a some of my home made curry powder - damn, that rocks! This is good food, good people, and I hope folks will continue to support their efforts.

The kiddo preferred the fries (which last week she didn't eat fries so her reviews are pretty all over the place). She got a lemonade which we all tried and it was delicious! They have a drive thru and dine in with lots of booths surrounding the perimeter of the inside and some tables in the center. They also have a small outdoor seating area. It's not covered though so it will be a seasonal option. The inside has a large counter that looks like it could be a bar area but it was empty and looked unfinished. We ordered at the counter where a friendly cashier helped us decide on what sauces to choose. Since it was our first time here we wanted to try a variety of items. I ordered three sliders and my husband got a tender combo. Our food came out really quickly and it was super hot. The fries were seasoned well too. No one likes unseasoned fries. One of the first things we noticed was how small the tenders were. I would have expected a larger tender for the price honestly. The flavor was delicious and we loved the different sauces they had. The spicy peach sauce was one of my favorites as well as the honey mustard. The pretzel bites we got as a side were ok. I'd probably skip them next time though. Overall we had a great experience at Ray Rays. I'd go there again for sure. Next time I'll have to try one of their sandwiches or bowls I think.

This day particular, I arrived to the restaurant with my mobile order, walked inside because curb service wasn't available. I see my order already at the Mobile cart and waited until I was helped. I seen a young lady set food on the Mobile cart beside of mine and I thought to myself, "I guess she's not in charge of Mobile orders?" So I waited a little longer and she continued to set another bag down on the cart so I spoke up and asked, "do you mind if I get my order?" She turned around, looked at me then back to the order and grab my food without even asking my name and continue to sling the the bag on the counter in front of me. She turned around and walked away... didn't even ask if I needed anything else, nor did she partways with a "have a good day or my pleasure".. just rude. This has been several times at this location with different employees.. they dont check the bags before handing out the food. Always missing a fork or sauce. When you're on a timed lunch break, it would help if they made sure everything is there before I have to stand there and bother another employee to ask for things that should have been in the bag.
