This looks like a little hole-in the-wall type of place, so I should've known it would be great! We got hotdogs all the way with no onions, I think they called them "regular." We also got fries and drinks. It was about $24 total, which isn't terrible compared to other hotdog places in the area. Everything was served piping hot and the hotdogs I would argue are my favorite of any in the area. They are a red hotdog and the white slaw and chili are almost sweet. It reminds me of the hotdogs I grew up eating at a local drive in restaurant back where I'm from. It is a walk-up stand and you're served at a window but you can take your food back to your car and eat in the air conditioning or take it back home with you. The lady taking orders was managing phone orders and in person orders while fixing drinks and calling customers up to get their food. I loved my visit to this little place and I'm going to definitely keep it in mind for lunches in the near future. Can't wait to go back soon!

The exterior is pretty unassuming, so I wasn't expecting to walk into such an awesome spot! From the super-friendly welcome from our smiling hostess, who seated us immediately, to our waitress, Carrie, who was incredibly nice and provided excellent service, everything was top-notch! I'm always on the hunt for the best club sandwich, and I can honestly say this was THE BEST club sandwich I've EVER had! It was so beautifully presented, it almost looked fake, but it was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Pick 3 appetizers and loved the fried mushrooms, southwest egg rolls, and bagel bites, and we had a burger too! We're so happy we found this place and can't wait to come back. 10/10!

There are tons of appetizers to choose from, which is great if you just want a drink and something small to eat. Regarding the entrees. Burgers, wings, wraps, and sandwiches dominate the menu. They do have a "plate" menu which has chicken and steak options. Nice variety, which includes a kids menu. I got the wings which are a solid 4 stars. Lots of flavors to choice from. I sampled my wife's Hamburger Steak plate and enjoyed it. Tons of beers (many regional) on the draft menu. 5 stars for their draft beer selection. Full bar if you want something harder or just having a bad day. Service was very good. No issues with the wait staff. So I know what you are thinking. "Overall a positive review Tim. Why not 5 stars?". It's freaking LOUD. At my table, we had to shout to carry on a conversation.

On my return visit, only a couple of months later, it was myself and a friend dining. While this particular rib-eye was much better than my first visit, the service was worse, the price of the same meal had jumped significantly also, so much so that my friend, who has been a LONG time supporter, even commented on the price of his dish. While the steak was good, the twice baked potatoes remain a mystery....I'm used to my 'twice baked' meaning there is much more effort put into them being prepared than simply resembling mashed potatoes with some (cheese) infused throughout ? In closing, I can't say the food was terrible but, the service was 180 degrees different from one visit to the other and the prices CERTAINLY did not measure up to the quality, portion size and service that I've experienced at other restaurants. I walked out of my last visit telling my friend, '"I just spent $53 (tip included) on a meal for one person, I think this will be my last visit here"

Tarheel Q is about 7 miles west of downtown so it's mostly locals dining here. Self-seating but warmly greeted and offered drinks, they are a Pepsi place and they also have sweet/Northern tea. Breakfast and lunch/dinner menus on the table and specials posted on the wall. I got the barbecue half-and-half plate which came with two sides. Chopped pork and a quarter barbecue chicken (I chose dark meat) with fries and potato salad plus hush puppies. It didn't take long to be plated up and brought out. Served hot, the pork was delicious. Moist, flavorful and not needing any sauce to bring out the flavor. Chicken was nicely done and came apart easily. Crinkle cut fries were crisp and hot. Potato salad was creamy. Huge portions, I could eat barely half of my plate. And then our waitress asked if we had saved room for dessert. Ha! Great service, great food, five stars!
