Food tastes like KFC should , hot and good after a few tries. Several people were given cold fries and came in rightfully complaining while we waited 25 minutes for our food. Order after order they told folks we are out of livers. we are out of dark crispy meat, we are out of green beans and they were staffed but poorly execution of service. We ended up with the last of the green beans and some hot fries. but the easy off to get fast food was a major travel delay. Ugh. Cool thing was they serve Ale-8 a proud nod to the city. read more

First of all the food wasn't that great. It needed to be hotter. Also didn't like how the menu has changed. They aren't accommodating. I asked for the gravy on the side. I like the chicken here, not to greasy like some other KFCs. Has a buffet that they know how to keep it stocked. Place is clean. The worst part of this place is trying to get to it. Turning onto and out of Carol Rd can be tricky depending what time of the day it is. read more

I'm sorry but this place is the nastiest looking food joint I've ever seen... Jesus it's rough... my step son was aggravating me to death wanting kfc and we live in Winchester so this was our only option. So we go and they are out of regular and crispy chicken and only had spicy so he got it and when I say it was way over spiced I mean I could smell the spices when they handed me the bag lol.. he took one bite and I could hear him sniffing cause it had his nose running and all it was so spicy lol.. well he called and complained and the lady told him to come back when he wanted and they would replace his meal. So I take him back a few days later and they had crispy so he got it and after pulling the skin off and eating it he pulled the chicken apart and it was freaking red inside..... he is only 13 and has autism so I had to pretty much take it away so he wouldn't eat it... needless to say next time he wants kfc we are going to Lexington!! Quality of all KFC has gone way downhill. This one isn't as bad as some others I've been to, but their chicken is still way too slimy & undercooked. The skin is usually crispy, but the inside is usually very greasy & slimy, not tender & juicy white meat. The food is always hot, which I like, but they need to learn how to fry chicken better. The KFC in Winchester has the best buffet of any KFC in the area. The staff is friendly, manager actually cares and the new renovations bring the restaurant up to date. I personally dine there at least twice a month and have rarely been disappointed. read more

My husband and I got the buffet. When we went through the line, the only extra krispy chicken was back sections. The original had back sections and wings. I asked a worker could she put more krispy chicken out because I don't like the back sections. She said it would be up in a minute but gave me a drumstick to hold me until it came out. After 15 minutes or so my husband went up and asked a male worker for some krispy chicken and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes and 30 seconds. 15 minutes later since no chicken had been put out and those back sections were getting nastier by the minute, I went up again and asked about the chicken. This time I was given 2 krispy drumsticks to "hold me". Suffice to say we were there for almost an hour and during that time NO KRISPY CHICKEN WAS PUT ON THE BUFFET. When we left the same nasty chicken pieces were on the buffet that was there when we came in except for the pieces the customers ate. None was put out! We used to eat at a KFC in Lexington until it refused to put out fresh chicken. After we experienced that twice at that location, we vowed to never go back. That's why we drove from Lexington to eat at the Winchester location. This is another KFC to write off. Unless your favorite piece of chicken is backs that have been on the buffet for hours, I would suggest you stay away from this place. I've enjoyed eating here off and on for years but now they seem to think after you pay for the buffet they can force you to eat the worst part of the chicken. Go on up the road to the Golden Corral for better food for a couple dollars more. read more

Went to the drive thru today, 4/24 at 5:25pm. Put in my order, was told the tenders would take 3 mins. Not a big deal, easy wait for 5 mins. My wife took a drink of her "unsweetened" tea, was sweet tea. She went inside and got NO help from the counter folks so she went to get it herself, the tea was empty. So she asked a counter person and they went to the same empty container then with a "oh well" attitude told her they were out. 15 mins later, still haven't gotten our order so I went in. Asked the counter guy for a refund, he looked around and I told him he could do the refund at the register since I gave him the receipt. Well, a minute later a girl walked by with our order, 20 mins after we placed the order with the 3 min wait. I told her to keep it and get my money back since the kid at the register didn't have a clue. This "smart ass" that was apparently in charge of the shift went back in the office with the girl who had our order. Myself and other customers could hear them arguing in the office. Finally a few mins later the person that was supposedly in charge gave me my money back and smiled back at me and with a "smart assed" attitude told me to have a great day. Well, needless to say, going to this place was a huge mistake. That shift leader should be fired and the whole crew needs a serious lesson in customer service. Went to another local fast food place, was in and out in 6 mins. KFC, you should be ashamed of this location. I will drive to Lexington or Richmond before I would ever go back to that location.
