Until now I had never been to app panda express I have heard pros and cons about it, but I've never personally tried it until now. My granddaughter wants some plain white rice so since panda express was close to where we are I pulled through the drive-through and while there I ordered myself "house special" fried rice WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT - it was just PLAIN FRIED RICE It had to be the worst I've ever had! I walked up just before 8:30P and since the door was unlocked, I tried to walk in. a guy met me at the door to tell me they are closed. I pointed at the door he was holding, addressing the hours on the door stating they are open until 9P. He said they aren't allowing dining in. I said that I just to order take out. He said that I could use the drive thru but they're not cooking anything. I pointed out that I was on foot. I have visited this location several times. The food is tasty (and I like that they display calorie counts), the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean (yes, the bathroom, too!). I must have looked hungry today, because my plate was really heaped full! You can also request half/half on the side dishes. I like half veggies/half rice. It's a little more expensive, but a value meal at McDonald's is about $7, so I feel at around $10 this is a good value. I hate to say it but the Panda Express in Cali is way better as far as menu selection and the speed of service that's why I'm giving them three stars I was really disappointed when I found out that they don't carry pot stickers! What can I say? I'm a sucker for Panda Express. Their delicious Orange Chicken and Chow Mein are personal favorites of mine and my fiance. However, I've been focused on being a skinny legend so my new go-to is white rice with teriyaki chicken (teriyaki on the side). It's just as tasty with out all the extra calories and fat. The employees at this location are so friendly. I may come here too often so they already know me when I walk in. However, I will say a major negative is the wait time for your food. Nearly every time I have visited this location, our order has taken 10-15 minutes. One would think they would keep stocked on popular items (orange chicken, chow mein, etc), but they don't. I don't really mind because I know the food will be fresh. However, I'm sure you reading this may mind so be aware before visiting. This location is conveniently located directly off of Nicholasville Road. However, we all know Nicholasville Road is just stressful to drive so that does make it difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. The place is very clean- probably because it is very new, but the staff cleans it up fairly well. There are dirty tables. The food is fresh and delicious. The portions are generous and it's easy to get a great meal at a great price. It's also easy to spend a lot of money. Pay attention to what you order, and order less than you think you should. You'll probably still have more than you need. They'll let you split sides and entrees. I like to get a small side, which I get half steamed veggies and half fried brown rice. YUMM. And, it's a full meal. I add iced tea... and the total price is under $4.00 !! Speaking of iced tea... they have a passion tea and a sweet tea. I find that if I fill the cup with ice, put a teaspoon of passion tea, then fill it with sweet tea- it is perfect. All passion tea is overpowering to me. That's all for now. I'll keep coming back. Went because we had a buy-one-get-one-free coupon on Plates. Ordered two plates, then at the window the worker said the coupon only works with Bigger Plates (which is *not* what the coupon said; it simply said Plates). They said we could add an entree to make one of our Plates a Bigger Plate, so we begrudgingly agreed. Added the entree, which was in a small box about half the size of a normal scoop, and left. Realized when we got home that they didn't even remove the charge for the other Plate, so we paid full price for everything, despite the coupon. They also completely screwed up our order -- we ordered Sweet Fire Chicken and got Sesame Chicken. Overall terrible place! read more

Panda Express is pretty much just what you'd expect- Chinese/Asian-style fast food. It's affordable, competent, and fast. Had it yesterday for the first time, and left feeling about how I expected to do so. The interior is typical for a fast food spot. A few booths, a few tables with stool-type seating. You walk to the counter with the menu up behind it on the wall and the entrees and sides to choose from in front of you. It was nice that I was right away asked if there was something I'd like to sample. However, the person asking was also taking the drive-thru orders, so that was a bit confusing at times. I ordered the Kung-Pao chicken with noodles. The ordered was put into a small paper bowl, then taken to the register. The person there decided there wasn't enough of the entree so she added more, which was also a nice surprise. I got a water and went to a table to try it all out. I have to say that it was fine for fast food. The price was about $6.58, and the serving amount was good for the price. The noodles were nothing special, tasting rather stale and bland. But the Kung-Pao chicken itself wasn't bad. The vegetables were ample. The chicken was actually still rather juicy and seemed fresh enough. And the sauce was what I had hoped it would be. The entree was savory with a nice kick to it due to the peppers. So, while I'll not be in any hurry to go back soon, I got what I had hoped for, and sometimes that's enough. read more

Updated: 10/1/17 went for fifth visit. Waited over 30 minutes for order that was never completed. Cook was working as hard as possible but staff running counter through a temper tantrum and was messing up on purpose. Was filling new orders before old orders were filled. Left after 30 minutes with NO FOOD had to go to another restaurant. After spending more than $300 total on our families combined visits. I will never return after such horrible service. This is ALL management fault. First review: They forgot part of my order or I would have given five stars. This was first time at Panda Express. Quality of food and cleanliness of the restaurant was PERFECT. This is the only oriental food I will probably eat on a regular basis. Staff needs help making sure orders are correct. Since I was the only one in line and placed the order online you would think they could follow instructions. What food I did get made up for this!!! read more

Let's be honest, the reason we go here is for the orange chicken and the sweet fire chicken breast. The orange chicken has a nice zesty kick to it and the sweetness of the pineapple is great with the red sweet chili sauce of the sweet fire chicken. I also went with the Beijing Beef today which added a nice crunch, but it can be over-breaded at times. The only lacking aspect is the fried rice. It has great potential but needs to be borderline drowned in the sauce from your entree to prevent it from being overly chewy and dry. The peas and carrots added great texture, but couldn't overcome the rice acting like a filler on the plate. Also, this being a fast-food restaurant means my service standards are not that high. But a few of the staff have started to recognize us and greet us with great warmth as well as fantastic service. Overall, one of my favorite non-traditional fast food joints. read more

The main thing i can say i was beyond not impressed. I walk in and i see what reminds me of school cafeteria looking serving station. All the food is just sitting in warming stations. And all food gets put on a paper divided plate. Another thing with that is everything is all together, so for me i got the beef and it had onions and what looked like orange bell peppers but i got one big piece of pepper and a few big slices of onion and lots of beef. Another person might get more vegetables and less beef. I also got fried rice. I could have had that alone with how much i got. The food itself was nothing i wanna remember. The food had no taste. The rice had no seasoning or taste, and the beef was the same. No salt, pepper, or noticable sauce flavor. The only good part was the soda and the fortune cookie, though the soda machine didnt look cleaned for a bit. I was not impressed the food, serving way, and hearing an employee talk loudly about what sounded like food was oily or something to that effect. I doubt i will ever go back there. read more

So this is only my second time of trying Panda Express the first time was pretty good this time it's not bad but they definitely have room for improvement. I ordered the orange chicken and beef with broccoli, side item of chow mein and crab rangoon LOL I guess I was hungry. So the positive is they give you a huge portion size of everything, it's super fast and you have a variety that you can choose from from one entree up to three items for one meal. My take on what I ordered, the beef and broccoli became Beijing beef (check the order before you leave), which was not bad it actually was a pleasant surprise a little spicier than what I normally choose but tolerable with the chow mein that was kind of dry and not much flavor. The orange chicken is okay but very orangie. I've had orange chicken at other places, even with the orange peel in the chicken and this is way stronger orange flavor, which is fine if you like that, but I will not be ordering that again. Lastly, my flavor preference is a little on the sweeter side for crab rangoon and this one is not, it could use a little more filling, but in the end I did eat enough of everything to get full which is all that matters. read more

They were out of a couple Dishes and hadn't refilled them yet. I had the sweet and sour chicken. It was okay. I wasn't impressed with the food. The sweet and sour sauce seemed to have a taste of heavy vinegar. I would much rather have Golden wok on Richmond Rd than here. To me it was just mediocre. read more

My wife picked up Panda Express to go which we have had on numerous occasions. On this visit we each chose two entrees and one side along with a Chicken Egg Roll. The Orange Chicken was tender and flavorful with plenty of sauce. No petrified pieces of chicken like what's served at some Chinese takeout restaurants. The Beijing Beef (crispy beef, bell peppers, and onion in a sweet-tangy sauce) was also delicious with a nice texture and the right amount of peppers and onions. The Sweetfire Chicken Breast wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. Didn't like the shape and size of the chicken and there wasn't enough sauce, peppers, onions, or pineapple. The Honey Walnut Shrimp would have been good but they were out of glazed walnuts. Really? The Chow Mein had a nice mixture of noodles and vegetables but was lacking any sauce. It was dry and lacking flavor so we had to doctor it up with plum sauce, the only thing we had on hand. A brown sauce would make this item much more palatable. One last note, the chicken egg rolls didn't have enough cabbage or crispness inside. Not similar to what most restaurants serve. We've been more impressed in the past than on this visit. I hope this establishment reads it's Yelp reviews and makes adjustments. read more

She told us that she would make sure the food was fresh. She was extremely amazing and I am amazed at her customer service. I've worked in the restaurant environment for over 5 years and I know how much it sucks to work over closing hours. But she made us feel like we were her friends. I wish I would've gotten her name. I was pleasantly surprised by this establishment. I hadn't eaten here in a long time and was welcomed by friendly employees that answered my menu questions. They also allowed me to sample an entree I was unsure I would like. I ended up getting the plate which is a side dish and two entrees for $7.40. I have ordered through the drive-tru a few times and, while I will say the food has good flavor and is fairly healthier than a lot of other fast food choices, I am disappointed in the cost cutting tactic of filling the bowel almost all the way full with rice with only hat appears to be spoonful of meat/vegetables. The Chicken with green beans I ordered today had about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of brown rice and about six small pieces of chicken with a scattering of green beans. For the little over $7 I paid, it was mostly for rice. If I wanted just basically a bowel of rice, I could have made that at home for pennies. Maybe Panda Express believes customers won't notice...well, they would be wrong. I understand things in general have gotten more expensive, including food, but with all the choices out there, I for one still look for, and expect, decent value on what I spend my money, whether it is a big purchase or small. read more
