I really liked this venue. I had visited Louisville before and walked around the outside of this building, but I had never been inside, so I was excited to finally see it. The inside is beautiful, spacious, and well maintained. My school hosted our graduation here, and it was an excellent choice. Getting there was easy because we stayed at a hotel directly across the street, and our room even overlooked the venue. I didn't have to worry about parking as I parked at the hotel and walked across the street, but I believe there is either street parking or garage parking available. Outside, my school had several photo props set up, which made for a fun experience before and after the ceremony. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized. There were staff members throughout the venue directing graduates and guests, so I never felt confused about where to go. They even had people available to help graduates get dressed properly and make sure everything looked perfect before taking pictures. Although there were nearly 1,000 graduates, the ceremony moved along surprisingly well and didn't feel overly long. The seating for spectators looked comfortable, and it seemed like there was a good view of the stage from every section. The venue was also very comfortable, I never felt too hot or too cold during the ceremony. The graduates' seating was nice, and I appreciated that there were large TV screens displaying each graduate as they crossed the stage so family and friends could easily see them. The stage setup looked great, and staff members were there to assist graduates as they walked up and down the steps, which made everything feel safe and organized. The school offered both a morning and an afternoon ceremony, and I attended the afternoon one. Everything appeared to have been cleaned and reset before our ceremony began, and the event ran smoothly from start to finish. There was no food served at the event, but overall, my graduation was a wonderful experience, and I thought this venue did an excellent job hosting such a large event. read more

We enjoyed the Sunday night special summer deal to see Weird Al Yankovic and the opening act by Puddles Pity Party. Venue was able to accommodate the fairly large crowd and had great audio and visual effects. Our seats were in the 108 section, row CC (3rd row from top of this section) and we were all pleased. We did have some initial difficulty locating our seats and finally able to find a helpful usher after some effort on our part. read more

I can't complain about the the seats at the UL Women's Basketball game as they were basically center court to watch the 13th ranked Cardinals play the Virginia Tech Hokies. It was a memorable afternoon watching Jeff Walz earn his 500th victory as the UL coach. Pleasant staff, reasonable priced tickets in a facility with amazing views of the city and the Ohio River. Quick tip:street parking is free on Sundays and I snagged a spot a few blocks away from the area. read more

We hadn't planned to go to any concerts while in Louisville, but we found out that the Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks) were playing at the KFC Yum! Center on our second night in Louisville (Tuesday July 25, 2023), so we bought tickets. We were seated on the "terrace" level, which is a relatively small area between the lower and upper bowls. We chose it because there were fewer people in that section, and it turned out that there is a concession on that level, so it was quite quick and easy for us to purchase drinks at the bar (and we purchased a LOT!), as we didn't have to wait in long lines, as most people were at the concessions on the other levels. We also had an excellent view. It was a great concert, and there weren't any issues. Like all venues these days, the KFC Yum! Center has restrictions on the size of bags (a standard purse purse wasn't a problem -- at least it didn't have to be a clear bag, as some places require) and what you can bring in. As Canadians, we thought it was utterly bizarre that there is a specific policy on firearms: "During Louisville Athletic events, no firearms are permitted inside the venue. During all other events, firearms may be restricted at the discretion of the individual promoter. To find out the firearms policy for a specific show, please call the KFC Yum! Center at 502-690-9000 on the day of the show." So basically, other than at athletic events, firearms may be permitted, depending on the event. Fortunately, the Chicks did not allow firearms. In summary: decent venue, the terrace is a less crowded place to sit, and confirm first if you can bring a firearm! I've been to this venue several times for concerts, but was recently here a couple weeks ago for the first time in a while and I was impressed to see the upgrades around the venue! Several food options from your normal venue food to more specialized items (Mac n cheese, cheesesteaks, etc.). Also several other options pizza, Taco Bell, KFC, the list goes on and on! They also offer many different beers, wines, and of course bourbon! They feature a couple bourbon distillery areas where you can order a drink and wait for your event. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and friendly. We needed help finding our seating due to it being dark for the opening band and we immediately had someone guide us to our seats. There are tons of parking options near the venue even if you can't get in the venue's garage. Local law enforcement gets traffic moving out quickly once a show lets out and I've always gotten out pretty quickly. This is one of my preferred venues in our area. I frequently drive from Cincinnati to attend shows here. read more

This is my favorite basketball center in Kentucky, food is a 9.7/10, service is a 9.5/10, and ambiance is a 10/10!!

Get here early and avoid $30 parking in the lots. Street parking meters end at 5:30, so for a few bucks park on the street and save your $$ for something else. Friendly staff. In fact, because the show wasn't a sellout, they relocated balcony ticket holders to better unsold seats. Of course, it made the place look more packed. I was really surprised at how good the acoustics were. The music reached the upper decks with full fidelity. 3 screens allowed you to see the show from a distance (not paying front row prices w/o taking a second mortgage. Because it wasn't a sellout, some of the concessions didn't bother to open. Still, there was plenty of junk food ready and waiting to add inches to our waist. I don't typically go to shows or events at big venues like this but I think I've been here for enough comedy shows, concerts, basketball games, and so on that I should probably knock out a review of the place. The Yum! center(for lack of a better deep fried kill your arteries name) is a top-notch space. It's home to Louisville basketball games but I know some of the beings in town are still hoping for a pro-basketball team at some point. If we ever do attract one... the Yum! will suffice for their home. For comedy shows... I've seen everyone from Kevin Hart to Bert to Taylor to Burr(most recently); Comedy shows are a definite no-go for me at a venue like this unless you can get floor seats within the first 10-15 rows. I need facial expressions with my jokes and the lower and upper levels just aren't it. For concerts, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The music is always clear and I've never had a bad experience here. I've been on the floor. I've been in the lower level as well as the upper levels. There's not a bad seat. We still get the medium-sized acts that fill The Palace, Headliner's, The Brown, The Center, Old Paristown Hall, and Mercury Ballroom but there is no doubt that the Yum! has helped attract the Springsteens, Gagas, Elton Johns, Taylors and so on of the world. (For me), Tool has also started visiting Louisville more since the Yum was built. :-D If I could suggest anything... if eating and drinking before a show is your thing; Opt to do it somewhere else. Prices are stadium prices so you're not saving money at the Yum! The same goes for parking. I'd park down at the 6th street garage or at one of the other garages within a 1 or 2-block radius. It's easy and is usually much cheaper than Yum's parking garage. Entering has always been smooth. Finding my seat... also always smooth. There are plenty of concessions around. On my last visit, I did find the floor break area... that place is also a nice tucked-away area with bathrooms, couches, and concessions. The staff has always been super helpful when/if I've needed them. It was a nice addition to the skyline. If one of your favorite bigger acts rolls through the Yum, make your way there for a good time. read more

The KFC Yum Center is the home to our UL Card basketball games; however, since its existence it has brought several top performers to Louisville. Sitting next to the river, the arena is easy to get to from the expressway and is surrounded by several restaurants and hotels. The arena has an attached garage and typically you'll pay a (high) flat fee for entry. Getting out after an event will also take patience. If you aren't able to get street parking I'd recommend finding a nearby garage. The Galt House is our first choice and the skywalk takes you right over, bad weather be damned! The KFC Yum Center is huge with multiple entrances. We did go through security and my purse was checked. Guards are also nearby with wands. A quick escalator takes you to the first level (section of 100's). You'll be overwhelmed with concessions and event promotions right away, which can make it feel hectic trying to figure out which way to turn toward your seats. Keep looking up for signs pointing out sections. Bathrooms are plentiful and several concessions are open as you curve around the building. Like most arenas the cost of concessions is insane. (Tonight I was at Disney on Ice and it was cringeworthy watching parents buy glowing wands, snow cones, etc.) Staff tonight were friendly and helpful, both at the entrance and around the building. One gentleman stood by while visitors left and thanked people for coming. As a Louisville local I'm thankful this venue exists and continues to be well taken care of. It took us a long time to get it but was important for the city to level up. It brings in a lot of visitors to Louisville. read more

We visited the KFC Yum Center back in 2013 for a Justin Timberlake concert. We were able to secure an interpreter, which must be done at a minimum of two weeks before a show. Well, I returned last week for the University of Louisville Cardinals Men's basketball game versus Wake Forest. I had forgotten how easy it was to get around the arena. Like most folks in this region, I will compare it to Rupp Arena in downtown Lexington. Well, there is no comparison; even with Rupp's upgrades, the KFC Yum Center is miles ahead. They have just replaced the previous video system with a gigantic six-display center-hung LED Titantron with the latest audio system. They've updated concession stands with name brands and installed brand-new carpet throughout the arena. I'll be honest; I had to remind myself to view the action on the court versus looking at their new LED Titantron system. The higher resolution is unbelievable, but the only downside to everything was the lack of closed captioning. Wait a second. Here you have this gigantic six-display LED Titantron, but no closed captioning? Nothing? So, the deaf and hard-of-hearing fans are excluded from grasping any announcements made over their new audio system, thus the reason I'm giving four instead of five stars. read more

The KFC Yum! Center is a great venue. I have been to all sorts of events here in all (I think) of the seats and areas. It is very spacious and nice. There is limited parking under the building, but there are a ton of garages and surface lots within blocks. Or you might even be able to find a spot on the street (parking on the street is free on Sundays). Upon entry to the venue, you'll see lots of bright lights and Cardinals, as this is home to the University of Louisville basketball teams. Within the arena, all of the seats have chair backs (no bleachers here). There are also several suites and club areas, plus plenty of options for food and beverage. Whether you're catching a game, concert, commencement, a rodeo, or something else, you'll have a good time at Yum! read more

Visited Louisville's KFC Yum Center to see Barry Manilow. Outstanding facility downtown on the Ohio River. Convenient parking and relatively easy access. Louisville has a quaint and vibrant downtown. As for the Yum Center, the acoustics and sound are exceptional. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We sat in section 111 row EE which were great for our show. The only problem with these north side sections is that they are dark and hard to see. The Yum Center did not have staff in this area to direct people to seats so there was a lot of people moving around after first sitting down in the wrong section. None of the aforementioned issues would keep me from going back. Great venue!! read more

The Yum is one of my favorite venues to attend concerts and sporting events. I recently attended the Kingdom Tour (Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music). Seats are comfortable and views are appropriate. I like that I don't have to have front row seats to still have an enjoyable experience here. My mom and I shared Taco Bell nachos here and I was shocked that pricing was comparable to a standalone taco bell. I expected to may much more in the arena. The event gets 5*, the KFC Yum 0* rating. I attended the USA Women's Gymnastics event featuring Simone Biles!! The location was perfect and parking a breeze across the street, really easy. Within walking distance from a lot of foodie spots. The area is in great condition and I enjoyed the location. Check in was easy, so I thought...we found out quickly that our seats were not available, they made a mistake, so back to the front to correct the issue. Once that was all straightened out, we actually had better seats! The lady at the cashier desk was really nice and helpful. I asked the one of the hostess if she could help us find our seats and if there was a itinerary for today. Her response was I don't know and turn left.....she was not only rude but just down right nasty about it. I know regret that I didn't get her name. So we proceeded to walk in stadium to ask another person, again no help. Im not sure why they need staff if your gonna just pay them to hang out and do nothing, worthless. This was the worse experience I have ever had at a stadium thus far. I would be embarrassed to have people like this working for the public, no pride in the company you work for. This arena is comparable to other arenas in states near by. We always stay at the Galt House Hotel when we go to events at this arena. We don't have to worry about parking, the traffic and it's a short walk. So I suggest to stay in a nearby hotel to make it more convenient. The food and drinks are pricey just like other arena foods. The seats can be confusing and finding your section can be a blunder as well. So, another tip is to find an usher to help guide you. In summary, this place is what you make of it, the venue is ok but it's all about the experiences (concerts, shows, etc). read more

My sister treated me to a Lady Cardinal game. They didn't win but it was a fun time. All of the employees were very professional and very helpful. At times they went out of their way to help me reach my destination. Also want to give a shout out to the Lady Cardinal Volleyball team. I had the pleasure of meeting most of the team. Came here to see John Mulaney live in Louisville (tix were bought before he released his tour dates in nashville lol). Pretty solid experience and the check in was pretty smooth and easy, considering the fact we came in about 45 minutes after doors opened. Concessions are your typical heavily overpriced snacks, where my friend and I only got 2 large drinks for $17... Yikes!! One of the biggest complaints I have is how tight the seating was at this arena. Not sure if it was just a way to get more people in but these seats were compressed and the backs of the chairs seemed really short so definitely not made for 6 foot tall people like me. Either way, the experience was fun though! We were probably only there for just over two and a half hours and the foot traffic getting out of the arena was surprisingly pretty quick too read more

This was my first basketball experience in a suite. I had been to a non-suite Bulls game before and had also been to a suite at the Chicago Bears football game which was much nicer. 1. The Bears suite was more private with glass encasing to separate you and the other suites. This suite was open. 2. Overall, the food here was mediocre. The best items that we had ordered were the soft pretzel sticks with cinnamon butter and the pull pork on biscuits with a slide of waffle sweet potato. The burger patty was a little tough. The hot foods at the Bears game was tastier. 3. Not sure if it was because of what the admin picked but the alcohol selection was smaller than in Chicago. read more

Another great venue for March Madness! Sadly, my Tennessee Volunteers lost but I enjoyed watching the game in this venue. The outside of the Yum Center isn't necessarily appealing but the inside was nice. There wasn't a whole lot of room in the lobby area because of security. You basically have to go up the escalators. Definitely not as many food options as the arena I was at the weekend before for March Madness. I got the chicken tenders basket from KFC. It was good. Nothing special but the chicken was fresh out of the fryer and the fries were good. There seemed to be a lot of restrooms which is nice. Not super clean but not super dirty either. The location of the arena is nice because it's right off of 65-S. We were able to find parking quickly and were able to get back on 65 very easily on our way home. The yum center is a great venue. Clean bathrooms, easy to get in and out. The no bag policy is a huge pain when you have kids and need to carry stuff. Limiting it to one strap bags seems a little silly but I get it. Would come to another event here but I wouldn't recommend it for Monster Trucks. The floor space is small and the trucks couldn't really do much due to the limied space. read more

I've attended a few events here from basketball to concerts. Yesterday UofL played Florida State. Hubby went to FSU so we got tix in the visitor seating area. Our seats were in section 309 seats 5 and 6. I don't know what was on the floor but it was so sticky. So sticky my shoe kept coming off when I moved my right foot. I will say our seats were great in the fact we could see everything. Just wish our area was clean. read more
