We just came for a quick overnight stay on our way south. When we arrived the valet took quite a bit of time before we were even greeted. After that though the process was very quick and car pick-up was very quick! I love the vintage, French look of the hotel. The room was very nice and decorated well. Check-in and out was very quick too! This hotel is in a great area, with many cute shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is a restaurant connected to the lobby of the hotel as well as a convenience shop with coffee. There is also a rooftop bar, with a view of the city. We ate in the restaurant for happy hour and the food was very good! The room has everything you need! We would definitely stay here again!

Adorable boutique hotel in a great downtown location, within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable with a great bed, spacious shower, and Le Labo bath products are a nice touch. The hotel has a lively atmosphere with live jazz and a cover charge in the evenings, and the rooftop offers a lovely view. The only thing we missed was having a mini fridge in the room. Valet service was easy and efficiently handled by PMC.

The worst hotel experience of my life My husband and I traveled from Miami to Louisville and arrived at the hotel completely exhausted at 11:00 a.m. after a sleepless night. We paid an extra $25 for early check-in just to get some rest. At 2:00 p.m., the fire alarms suddenly went off, and loudspeakers in the hallway started announcing an emergency, telling everyone to evacuate using the stairs. In our pajamas, we grabbed our backpacks and rushed down the emergency stairwell, ending up on the street with no explanation. When we were finally allowed back in, the front desk staff told us it was a false alarm and that they were running a test--without any prior notice to guests. What was even more frustrating is that they seemed completely indifferent to the situation, showing no concern or urgency whatsoever. This is unacceptable. A hotel charging over $250 per night should at least show respect and consideration for its guests. We felt completely disregarded. Never again.

I was charged $40 for valet. employee was aware we did not use valet apparently fixed it 2x Management still hasn't refunded.

The entire stay was a hot mess. Not to mention, I was charged for someone else's valet. It was supposedly removed twice and I received an invoice showing I didn't owe anything, but was still charged. Also, a very uncomfortable room. An overall terrible experience. Months ago before booking, I called to confirm that Hotel Geneieve honored free early check in, free room upgrade, and $50 credit from my Capital One Travel program. I was told by GM Andrew that the hotel would accomadate our 11am check. Andrew said to call the day before to make sure staff was reminded. I should also mention free parking was a part of this perks and they now charge $40+ for a lot not on the property. When calling to confirm my upgraded room, early check in, and credit; I was told the first two would not be possible. I was extremely confused, as I had confirmed this would be possible months prior. The staff said my needs couldn't be met and there was nothing they could do about it. Our entire trip was banking on an event that we had to be at by 12pm, leaving us unable to check in later. I was extremely upset (this was our anniversary vacation before a severe surgery that would leave me unable to travel or walk). The hotel refused to honor their prior accomadtions because rules changed recently (even though they still offered these perks for Capital 1 Venture X members online). Before hanging up, I asked to speak to the manager. I let Hannah know how unacceptable this situation was and that they should honor the prior. Hannah was willing to honor the free early check in at 11am due to my account being documented by the prior manager. She also mentioned I'm not the first this has happened to. I let her know that if they have stopped honoring the perks because of new ownership, this needs to be changed online - as people are booking this hotel for these perks. Intuitively, I felt like I should cancel but in an effort to salvage my husband's and my weekend (and our ticketed event), I decided to not cancel. The next morning at 11am check in, I was told there wasn't a room available and thay we would have to check in later in the day. I explained that our entire reasoning for choosing this hotel was bc of the confirmation both yesterday by Hannah and when booking by Andrew that we could indeed check in early at 11am with a guaranteed room. Magically, a room was then available. At night, we returned for dinner. They recently closed their restaurant downstairs and we had to dine on the patio. It was appetizers of sorts. The charcuterie was very basic and tasted terrible. The drinks were nothing special either. When trying to sleep that night (9pm), we called for more pillows. No one answered. We eventually gave up calling and rolled up the comforter to use as pillows - since the one pillow for my head was flat (as hotels pillows all are nowadays). Additionally, I called because a fire alarm battery wouldnt stop blinking. The AC unit was extremely bright (even at its lowest light setting) a gain, no one answered. I spent the entire night unable to sleep due to flashing lights. At checkout, staff said goodbye to us without letting us know the total. I asked for the total and they provided charges that weren't ours and trying to charge us a secpnd time for the already paid for room Additionally, our $50 credit was not applied - as requested before asking the total. This is unprofessional and a way to charge paying customers more than they paid for. An employee added valet parking to my account and more that we did not charge. The staff member said they fixed it but didn't give me a total. I asked again and they said it would be emailed and I owed nothing. I never received an email invoice and called later that afternoon, was sent the email with $200 of charges not mine. It was the same staff member, so luckily they remembered me and 'fixed' the charges. Two days ago, I checked my credit account and was charged $40... even though I have an invoice showing $0 is owed. While the hotel is beautiful, you will be charged incorrectly, and the perks they list are not honored. I reported this to management and haven't heard back.

Stopped by to plan a wedding party and had a great experience. The staff was accommodating, knowledgeable, and made sure we were well taken care of. The space offers beautiful views--perfect for special events. Felt confident and welcomed from the start.

Beautiful lobby area; the hotel has a few beautiful spots to grab a drink and relax

Hotel Genevieve recently shut down their downstairs restaurant, Rosettes, to reimagine the concept; however, their upstairs bar / restaurant is open and a fantastic spot for a cocktail. They also understand how to delight you with a charcuterie board! Crave worthy. I'll be back and I'm looking forward to their new restaurant once reopened.

We stopped in here on our way to the rooftop bar and were impressed by the lovely decor and the feel of a hidden oasis so near to Market Street. What a beautiful treasure and a definite boutique hotel atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit as a guest.

Such a great and cute hotel!! I'm a Louisville native that had moved to Nashville and decided to stay here when in town. The rooms were BEAUTIFUL and they gave you such a genuine and true guide to things to do in the city. The rooftop bar has great deals for happy hour (like $5 champagne!) and everyone was so friendly. We stay in Louisville hotels every 3-4 months when we come visit and this has been hands down our best one so far. We'll definitely be back to visit and stay soon!

Great views of the city! The rooftop bar has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside a bit, but not every table has shading. The bartenders were nice! Friendly. I got a blueberry spritzer, while my friends got the espresso martini and Alter ego. Delicious and refreshing! Especially since it was hot outside. Bathrooms are clean. They have 4 unisex bathrooms. Fabulous place to hang! I loved all the decor and plants. Only drawback is the price. Drinks are a bit elevated but I think Louisville is gonna become very big city like. We also tried Rosettes. We shared the trout and burger. Generous portion sizes! Everything tasted good. It wasn't busy inside the restaurant area. Not sure if a lot of people know about this place yet. Nice staff though! Good vibes too.

Burger and cocktails. Dainty Diane on the left and Alberta's on the right.

Stopped by for a late lunch at Rosette's and we were very impressed!! We sat outside on Market St and enjoyed people watching as we sipped tasty cocktails. We tried the Dainty Diane and the Alberta's, would recommend the later! For food we both got the burger, each bite was as good as the last. Their lunch and dinner menu is the same, would love to try the chicken dish. The brunch menu looks great too - I'll have to get the girls together for that one. After lunch we decided to check out the hotel. It was like eye candy everywhere we looked. We made our way to the upstairs bar and terrace which has jaw dropping views of the city and river.

I'm glad I didn't go by the reviews, because I loved everything about our stay. First, I'd like go recognize a few people that made our stay so welcoming: Front desk: Logan was so sweet Valets: Blake, Corn, Alicia, and Jeff- I literally spent time hanging out with Blake and Corn during their shifts. Kids with goals and dreams, very personable, and hardworking Mini Marché (Banana Room): Kate is quiet, but Kate is cool! I miss Kate and her Louisville Fog. Rosettes: Everyone was friendly! The Review: Downtown Louisville is outdated, but going through a renovation. Genevieve is a new hotel, standing 6 floors. It's painted black and gray, and honestly you might miss it if you're not paying attention. HOWEVER, you'd be missing out! The first thing I noticed at valet was this HUGE mural covering the building next door- loved it. Upon entering the front desk is RIGHT THERE, maybe 10 ft from valet. Check-in was smooth and fast. My husband and I had a 6th floor corner room overlooking Louisville, the mural, and next to the terrace (wasn't open during our stay), and down the hall from the terrace bar. Our room was so cute! Soft comfy bed, large shower, and a fully stocked fridge with adult beverages included (for a price), 2 bathrobes, and room service came daily. I'm all things French and that's what Genevieve (jhahn-vee-ev) gives off. Oh, I forgot to mention the lobby has beautiful seating areas and several live plants. Rosettes: I recommend the pork belly and grits! Lucky Penny: Tiny, dim speakeasy. We were in town to meet our first grandchild, so we literally were the first shots poured from a bottle of Blanton's and had 2 Old Fashions. Bar Genevieve: Rooftop bar is quite spacious with panoramic views, lots of seating, and a good drink menu. The foods are worth it, too. The bartender with the red beard knows what he's doing! While, I didn't do much exploring Angel's Envy is maybe a 10 min walk. Buffalo Trace is one hour straight shot and you pass a NICE outlet mall on the way. Airport isn't far at all. I recommend the Muhammad Ali museum- maybe a 5 mins drive. Louisville Slugger museum about a 7 min walk. Churchill Downs and the amusement park are also about 10 mins away and enroute to/from the airport. There are shops, bars, and restaurants all around the hotel, but I didn't visit any as the hotel had everything we needed on hand. I hope you give Genevieve a try, because it's such a cool little personable place, not crowded and busy, because there's only 122 rooms, keeping it free flowing and not overcrowded. P.S. Valet does accept tap to pay tips and they offer a text service to call for your car- average time to receive our car was about 3 mins.

I walked in around 5:15pm on a monday night, with plans for a friend to join me around 5:30. The sign at the host station said to wait to be seated. So I waited. And waited. and waited... Folks walked in after me, waited for a bit and then sat themselves at the bar. But I did not want to sit at the bar, we wanted to sit at a table. The server seemed to be willfully ignoring me and avoiding my attempts at eye contact. The bartender was taking care of everyone at the bar as well as making drinks for the rest of the patrons too, he saw me eventually and was looking around for the server or (nonexistent?) host to help me out. The bartender ultimately told me that I could just seat myself wherever I wanted, so I did. There were maybe 3 table seated at this point, it was not that busy. Then it took yet another chunk of time (6 pages read in my book I never leave home without) before I got water and menus. I was frustrated but was looking forward to seeing my friend and was ready to make the most of it. All that said, I like the vibe of the space. The dark, cozy vibes. We came because we wanted cocktails and something to nosh on. And eventually we got that. We shared a flatebread and an Asian-inspired hushpuppy sort of situation. They were pretty tasty and nice to have with our cocktails. The cocktail list is longer than expected and with a lot of intriguing sounding offerings. The two I had were very tasty and delicious! I would maybe come back again and sit at the bar so a solo visit if I had a stretch of time and no rush. My overall memory of the visit is still about the over-long wait/being ignored for such a long time after entering.
