The entrance sits across the street from the main entrance area of Uofl home football stadium cardinal stadium. The entrance is actually maintained and monitored by event security. I didn't make it to the season opener against eku for the 2021 season but for the second game we played central Florida on a Friday night (and won!) so before I entered the stadium I decided to check this new experience out. Event security wands and checks you before entering. Upon entering there is a large spacious area for food trucks, beer trucks and a huge turf area full of corn hole boards. There was a stage with a live band playing and they had an outdoor bar that was packed to the gills so I didn't get a great look. They have a nice inside area that was Rsvp only. The vibe and atmosphere here was great. Plenty of fun tailgate activities. Cool food trucks for pizza or bbq and plenty of places to buy beer or harder alcohol beverages. In the very back is a patrolled bathroom that is a roll of port o pots protected behind a wooden fence for extra privacy. Everything here was well down. Very visually pleasing and cool cards decor. I think the alley is going to be immensely popular and foresee it becoming a long standing fun pre game tradition for Uofl football games. I look forward to what the future holds for the alley. Old Forester's Paristown Hall is my favorite place to catch a show in the city right now…read more Established only recently in 2019, I love how much the name (even with a brand sponsorship in it) sounds like an Established 1819 sort of place. It's a modern take on the standing-room-only "Big Rock Show" venue, with well stocked bars on either side of the stage and a cool balcony above (often reserved for VIP standing or sitting, and with its own bar and bathrooms). One of the twists to the venue that is in my understanding still greatly under appreciated is that the Louisville Orchestra collaborated in building Paristown Hall. The stage can fit the whole orchestra, the acoustics are good enough to showcase that, and the A/V system is deep enough capture most of it. How many orchestras in this country have a venue that they can regularly play that gives off "Big Rock Show" energy? Paristown Hall is also the reason that Louisville had one of the few active, working orchestras (and paid salaries to them!) in the country in the early 2020s. (Those live streams meant a lot to me as a fan of live music in those years.) I try to buy any Paristown Hall ticket that sounds even of passing interest. I especially buy a ticket for every Louisville Orchestra show at Paristown Hall before even reading the description, because any show our Orchestra thinks needs to be at Paristown Hall is a show I don't want to miss. (Absolutely my recommendation to everyone: if the Louisville Orchestra is playing at Paristown Hall it will be a treat and you should buy tickets.)

It's a massive facility that offers running lanes, long jump sand lanes, and a throwing area. Around the competitive areas are several bleachers and seating, some for spectators and some isolated to athletes only. From the bleachers we spotted several athletes warming up in a private space, away from those lining up for their event. We use this facility for outdoor events as well. What's found inside is repeated in their outside space. It's much more difficult to watch throwers outdoors due to the proximity of the competition area to the bleachers. Bathrooms are plentiful and clean. A concession stand with basics (chicken tenders, burgers, fries, nachos, etc) and an açaí station offers food and drinks if you're there for a long period. A large parking lot is available. We paid $10. You may be able to find street parking as an alternative. We also had to pay an entry fee to watch our son compete. My guess is entry fees are dependent upon event. Security was at the front to have us empty pockets and walk through a metal detector.

Lynn Stadium opened in 2014 as the new home for UofL men's and women's soccer... and what a home it is! I can imagine the athletes and coaches appreciate these facilities, but as a fan, it definitely makes for a fun time! Tickets are fairly inexpensive (and free for UofL students with their Cardinal Cards), and there are oftentimes promos for food and/or drinks. (Yes, they serve beer.) The concession stands are not serving filet mignon, but there is Centerplate fare. (The pretzels are my favorite.) There are chairback seats lining one sideline; a student section (the Boyle-ing Point) with bleacher seating lines one end. The other two areas of the perimeter offer open seating (and/or room for kids to run around) in a grassy area. There is a very large screen with a scoreboard and plenty of Louisville Cardinals signage and logos to go around. Other universities and fans must be salivating to have a venue such as this as their home. Fortunately for us Cardinals, this IS our home. Go Cards!

It's the most premier soccer stadium of its kind…read more As an alumna of the University of Louisville and a sports fan, I can't speak highly enough of this facility. I am very glad to have been there for an opening-night double header. Basically, there is standard stadium seating around 1/2 of the field: one the length and one the width. The width side with seating is a student zone of sorts, right behind a goal, which is great, because students at the University of Louisville can go to soccer games for free with their student IDs. The other half of the perimeter is the berm. This is where I spent most of my time. Concessions, in terms of the availability, are a bit limited. However, most games will not be as packed as opening night - that's how opening nights go. The lines and time spent will surely improve as time goes on and routines are set. The main concessions are in the corner at the top of the stadium, but there is a separate place to purchase some food and (adult) beverages on the grassy area directly across the field from the other concessions. It's a beautiful complex with a great screen/scoreboard. It's easily accessible as parking is close at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and other close-by lots. It's family-friendly. This was my kind of place to watch a game. If you're into college athletics, check it out. You'll be glad you did.

I did watch the lanes next to us where a family hovered over other bowlers and took up more than their share, edging out the teens who'd been playing prior to them. Some folks have no awareness. The animation for scorekeeping is fun and you can pick options for each game rather than keep the same one. King Pin is still my favorite bowling alley and I'm glad it's in our part of town!
