Chill ambient dive. Good spot to have a conversation with friends after a night out. Plenty of seating inside including bars and tables. Bartenders are quick and friendly! Drinks are decently strong and well priced.

I always have a great time on the weekend here with my girlfriends. Especially on the first Fridays of every month! There's this group of four that plays so so well! It rocks the house I love it! The bartenders/ staff are great considering the chaos, I wish there was some bite to eat like chips or something. But otherwise I enjoy this place !

Just got charged eight dollars for a single glass of seltzer water at a grimy dive bar. No lemon, no refill--just flat bubbles in a dirty glass. I genuinely thought the bartender was joking, but nope. This place smells like spilled beer and regret, and they've got the nerve to upcharge like it's some upscale cocktail lounge. It's not even clean. Sticky floors, flickering lights, and somehow they think seltzer is a luxury item. I wouldn't come back here if they paid me to drink. Total scam. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.

great tunes, so communist kawaii; she makes a good gimlet, i came here with the man i lost my virginity to here a few years ago.

The upper level is lovely. Too bad they choose to have literary events downstairs.

First off - updated mask wearing policy: THERE ISN'T ONE! There's a railing on one side of the stairs, which is half ok since there are constantly people coming up and down and someone could easily stumble. I've attended a reading on the upper level before, which is lovely but the 2nd floor where the bar is -where one of the bartender's smugly name dropped David Foster Wallace as a previous reader- there is no stage, just cocktail tables, various seats but not enough because I found people hanging off the open windowsills. Sadly, much like many venues in the area, there are far too many babies looking to be a sugar daddy/mama/supplier trolling the bar that nearing any of the writers read proved not to be worth the visit. for the upper level with the bar and the stage. I love the reading I attended here and for the fire hazard of a bar on the main level (red room) and the death trap of the stairs. If you want to socialize safely, count this venue on your "DO NOT ENTER" list.

Intimate spot for jazz music. Got a seat right next to the band and they were out of this world. Staff was quirky, but no problems.

Great to see them supporting young musicians. Bartenders were kind, made great drinks. Fantastic location as you'd expect.

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

As for food, there were some true hits but most of the food was good but basic. The highlights for me were the wild mushrooms & rice cakes as well as the Caesar salad - loved the use of nori in the salad and would definitely come back for the mushrooms. The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. The wait staff weren't super attentive nor super warm, but they were efficient when we asked for water refills, etc. There was ample standing room at the bar while we waited for our friends, but the table/booth that we sat at was super narrow, I was knocking knees with my friend all night and generally felt squished.

Flavors were great too, most times i feel these burgers just grease bombs with no acidity to cut through besides two pickles However sip n guzzle burger was very well balanced where i did not need to ask for extra pickles, really enjoyed it, maybe the number burger for me in nyc My only complaint is price, 35$ is wild, i know its cuz they use a5 miyazaki wagyu but wagyu burgers is just a gimmick to upsale. Grinding the meat destroys all the hard work of the Japanese cattle farmers. In a burger you can effectively create a wagyu burgers just by adjusting the ratio of fat and meat so using wagyu and regular beef to get to a 60/40 blend is the same. I guess my complaint is mostly just to wagyu burgers lol
