The photos I have added to my review are the ones that ARE shareable. However, a lot of the other items we got such as the bikini or the shrimp toast were extremely difficult to share because it was a small bite clearly meant for one. I don't really drink, so wanted to preface the review by saying that this is solely on the food menu! The electric chicken was quite tasty, but nothing particularly memorable. The mochi french fry is pretty fun and worth trying with the nacho cheese dust. The hokkaido soft serve was delicious as well, but again nothing life changing. Rumored to be the best burger in NYC, we had to get our hands on the Tavern Burger at Guzzle! Only 12 are available per day. I stalked the Resy site and made my 4pm reservation as soon as it opened up! We arrived twenty minutes before our reservation with two people ahead (one with a 4:30pm and one without a reservation). The host goes down the line and seats everyone with a reservation first. She also announces to the group there are only 12 burgers so we are all encouraged to share. Hell naw did 1. she just tell us to share one burger, but 2. she totally skipped over us and went to a group two down the line. I spoke up and told her she missed us. No way am I not getting this frickin' burger. I'd be one pissed off Yelper! We got seated though and one of the first things we are asked is if we wanted to put a burger on hold for us. Ok fine, meltdown averted. We were good patrons and ordered ONE BURGER to share between the four of us. Half an hour later they asked if we wanted another because there was just one left. I guess everyone else was also being a good patron and sharing, or maybe it just wasn't that popular, or great or both. We were far from impressed. Made from the trimmings of the $150 A5 Wagyu sandwich, it had a mushy mouthfeel (probably from all the fatty trimmings) and just did not hit the spot the way a good burger should. (In comparison, we had Gramercy Tavern's burger just a few hours earlier and thought THAT was a good burger!). In retrospect, we were glad we had just gotten 1/4 of a burger each. My boo also ordered the foie gras Mont Blanc, which was creamy and not very foie gras forward, which was fine by me but still meh. We wanted to go downstairs and get the $150 A5 Wagyu sandwich at Sip, but it already had a waitlist at 5:30pm (they texted me five hours later they had a table available)! Luckily(?), they also will serve it to you at Guzzle and we ordered it there. Rich, fatty, super tender. The side of very tart pickles really balanced out the wagyu. Was it good? Sure. Flavors were great too, most times i feel these burgers just grease bombs with no acidity to cut through besides two pickles However sip n guzzle burger was very well balanced where i did not need to ask for extra pickles, really enjoyed it, maybe the number burger for me in nyc My only complaint is price, 35$ is wild, i know its cuz they use a5 miyazaki wagyu but wagyu burgers is just a gimmick to upsale. Grinding the meat destroys all the hard work of the Japanese cattle farmers. In a burger you can effectively create a wagyu burgers just by adjusting the ratio of fat and meat so using wagyu and regular beef to get to a 60/40 blend is the same. My friend booked this spot and I was initially worried looking in that we wouldn't be able to hear each other at the bar when catching up cause it was so loud/divey, but little did I know they had a bottom floor for the "Sip" speakeasy. We got to the bar 90 minutes before opening on Friday to try one of the 12 exclusive burgers a nights. We were the first ones in line. Within the next 30 minutes more people showed up. If you do not have a 4pm reservation you need to be one of the first 4-5 parties in line to secure a burger, but that is hoping that reservation parties share. The burger was super delicious and unique with the toppings. Was it the best burger in America though? Not sure. Wish the meet had more of a char outside because the patty seemed too soft to me and the patty seemed a little small. They get an A+ for presentation though. The mochi fry was delicious. Super unique dish. The soft serve was my absolute favorite. The milk just melts in your mouth and the outside shell was great. The lemon preserves were so yummy. But the ice cream was so expensive. In terms on drinks I actually prefer the drinks upstairs compared to downstairs. First of all the drinks upstairs are more affordable and personally thought they were better. The drinks downstairs while interesting, I thought had too much going on for a lot of them. And were so expensive. Upstairs the sun dried daisy was so yummy. The strawberry Negroni was good and the coconut flavor was great. However in the beginning it was so bitter to me compared to a normal Negroni. It grew on me though. The coffee drink was great. I love arcane coffee so can't go wrong. Downstairs we had the apple pie drink, the spicy one with a tincture, thought it was much better without adding any tincture to it ngl, hot pot drink, and a very acidic whiskey drink that came in a very heavy and small cup. This drink was way too acidic for me. Hot pot was the most interesting and worked for me. Wish I saw Japanese people working here. And I was much more impressed at the SG club in Tokyo. Service upstairs was super weird as well. People weren't that friendly and had a strange attitude. Especially the one woman who was our main bartender. It seemed like a lot of the people who got 4pm reservations and sat at the bar were bartender friends. The downstairs service was ok. One thing I didn't like about both floors is that they kept taking our menus away. It made it difficult to share one menu among more than two people and then when we wanted to order more drinks we had to keep asking. My husband and I had one of those memorable nights at Sip & Guzzle and now we understand the hype! Discovered this place through 50 Best Bar (ranking) and I was particularly excited to try it. Cool experience to try cocktails and interesting food options. Definitely recommend making a reservation as it is filled. If you want the burger you need to be there early as they run out. Drinks were wonderful! Food was tasty and an experience but the portions are extremely small. The potato salad was very rich but tiny! We got the hot chicken which was fun to cut up with a giant scissor. It does have Szechuan in it which I am not a fan of. We got the vanilla soft serve special which had a tumeric shell and a lemon sorbet puree at the bottom. Soft serve was thick and cream with rich vanilla flavor. We had drinks and bites at Sip and it was an enjoyable experience. I have a lighter palate for drinks and can't go for too strong, and really enjoyed the Gimlet over rice (light, sweet but not too sweet), tomato tree (light and refreshing), and one of the newer drinks that uses grape (a bit on the sweeter side but still good). The food was excellent. We had the potato salad - which comes with taro crispys though I could not appreciate the crisps well, but it was so delicious it almost didn't matter. Highly recommend. The yakiniku comes with 2 skewers and they are so soft and delicate, really savory along with the yolk sauce which provided an additional umami boost. The cabbage salad was a miss unfortunately. Was really hoping for something lighter given its primarily vegetable dish, but the sauce is just so overly powerful. It's a lot of sauce and also too salty - really took away from this dish. Recently went to Guzzle for a Father's Day dinner... been wanting to try for a long time. We wanted to try the burger that they are known for but unfortunately only an hour after opening, it was sold out. But we order other items they we were interested in. The influencers are either lying or have terrible taste. Will mainly comment on the food as we are not huge drinkers. The cocktails were somewhat interesting, but not anything we'd come back for. We did also get their oolong mocktail which was essentially a watered-down boba milk tea for $20 (booooo). - Addictive cabbage ($8): this was very overdressed, so the first few bites were quite offensive to the palette. Once we got past the top pieces, the dressing got lighter and the dish became edible. The tempura pieces added a nice crunch, though the dressing tasted pretty similar to the Trader Joe's toasted sesame dressing. I could have made this better at home. 3/5 - Volcano roll ($19): best dish of the night, the spicy tuna was very yummy and the cigar concept was fun. I was not a fan of the coconut rice (would have rather they used sushi rice), but my companions liked it. 4/5 - Sawara crudo with kumquat ($23): so incredibly mid, I barely remember we ate this. The kumquat was a bit too pickled. I cannot believe this was more expensive than the volcano roll. 2/5 - Mochi french fry ($18): this was fun. The mochi fry by itself was fairly tasteless, despite the nacho powder on it. It had a nice chewy texture that paired well with the gochujang sauce. 3/5 - Electric chicken ($28) + party dip ($50): this dish was offensive to me. The chicken was fried nicely, but under-seasoned, clearly so that people can pair it with the party dip. That means anyone who chooses to get the chicken on its own because they don't want to fork over an additional $50 is getting an incomplete dish. That's just not right. The party dip itself was good, but there was waaaay more dip than we needed for the chicken. Likely so they can justify the $50 charge. What a waste of food and money. 2/5 - Shrimp toast ($19): this dish was a disaster. How do you mess up shrimp toast? Well it turns out you do it by not frying the shrimp paste with the toast. The bread was lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for a while before it got to us. The shrimp paste was cold (!!!). The lobster was supposed to be there, but it might as well not be since you don't taste it at all. This is not a hard dish to make and it's an easy crowd pleaser. Smh, this is so embarrassing. 0/5 - Royale with cheese ($150): the wagyu was nice and buttery, but the salt was heavy handed and the extra stuff (cheese, bread, some sort of dressing) really detracted from the meat. I get the sando concept, but the execution just really wasn't there. Also, the accompanying pickles were so sour, they were almost inedible. This is an Asian concept menu. Some sweetly pickled daikon or carrots or, heck, kimchi would have complemented the dish better. What a missed opportunity. 2/5 Overall, so lackluster and not worth the money. Operating as two separate entities, with separate drink menus and some shared food items, both Sip and Guzzle lived up to the hype!! GUZZLE This is the restaurant component with more casual drinks and creative dishes. For two people, they recommend about 6 dishes. I was so sad that the Tavern Burger already sold but I guess it means I have to come back! -Started off with the tasty volcano roll. Combing spicy tuna, coconut sticky rice, and candied, crunchy seaweed roll, it had a nice textural contrast amongst the spice, umami, and sweet flavor profiles. -The pork yaki featured super tender and well seasoned meat skewer with a candied outer layer in addition to the fun cotton candy! -The mochi french fry was FIRE! Its chewy and crunchy at the same time and be sure to pair it with the addicting gochujang-based sauce that is garlic-y and honey-y with a nice spice kick. -The bikini was perf for cheese lovers like me and especially if you like jamon and truffle to make it even more umami. Just make sure you get a good well-balanced bite! -The electric chicken was juicy, tender, crunchy, crispy, and well seasoned! Its less spicy and salty compared to that of Pecking House but still delicious! Plus you get to cut it with fun scissors! -The cabbage was good with a creamy, tangy white sesame sauce, but can skip next time -The chicken chips and salsa was interesting with their chicharron-inspired chicken chips. The salsa had 3 layers of mango, avocado, and jalapeño with a salted foam. -The Hokkaido milk soft serve was super smooth and milky - exactly how I envisioned what I want my milk ice cream to taste like! -Drinks: The lychee martini was amazing for people who like floral/sweet drinks. The wagyu old fashion was very peanut- and whiskey-forward. SIP This is speakeasy bar downstairs that features a variety of innovative drinks -Strawberry Hotpot: I was skeptical at first but this drink was *delicious*!! I find myself too guilty to drink the soup after hotpot or ramen because its often too greasy. Fear not because this clarified drink packages similar flavors into an easily enjoyable alcoholic drink!! Its umami and spicy with just the right amount of peppercorn oil. The strawberry is just present enough to balance out the savoriness, and not too fruity nor sweet at all! Its also cutely served at tableside with a big teapot. -Satsuma Creamsicle: A multilayer drink that was so fun to drink because each sip at a specific angle allows you get a little bit of the tangy and creamy foam, as well as the sweet and cream soda-like drink. -Plantain Colada: A banana/plantain prominent drink with some coconut vibes and bites. -Negroni in the Shade: A refreshing drink with just the right amount of grape flavors. Drinking out of the bowl while eating the tea leaf salad from a miniature bowl/spoon was also fun! Overall staff were very nice and attentive. I ate downstairs at Sip, but I've also been to Guzzle and either level it's worth it. Got the last burger of the night with a 4:15 reservation, it was totally worth it. Just know, that the burger basically starts to fall apart once you pick it up because the A5. Both the burger and the sandwich were worth it, they were tender in different ways. The burger just melts as you eat it along with the cheese which doesn't over power the patty. As for the sandwich, it's crazy tender for steak to be able to eat it without any cutting. I wasn't wild about the seasonal soft serve marmalade, but it was otherwise just soft serve ice cream. This is for Guzzle specifically, not Sip. I ended up here because of TikTok. Embarrassing, I know. But they have this viral burger that is supposedly the "best in North America." Who named them the best, I haven't been able to find. They release reservations a couple weeks ahead of time, and like others have said, it's not overly difficult to get a reservation. But the trick is they only make 12 of their famous burgers a night, and once they are gone, they are gone. So getting the 4 PM reservation when they first open is the trick. I was able to do that. And service was pristine. She immediately asked me, "Do you want me to reserve a burger for you?" The burger is a wagyu burger served with a single slice of cheese on a sesame bun. The burger was good. It was fall apart soft (I ended up finishing it with my chopsticks, that's how fall apart soft it was). It had an interesting flavor. Served with fermented shishito relish, it was rich and very savory. The burger was good. But it's not the best burger I've ever had and not even the best burger I've had in New York. This is definitely a thing where they create scarcity to create virality and to get people in the door. No fries with the burger. It stands alone. Though you can buy one large "fry" that is a mochi tube topped with nacho dust. To have something a little lighter to accompany my burger, I got the "addictive cabbage," which was essentially cabbage covered in white sesame and was underwhelming. They also offer smoked oysters, foie gras (no thanks), electric chicken, and other funky little offerings. This was more of a four star meal, but the attentive and wonderful service gets it to that fifth star. I would not come back here for another round, but I'm glad I tried it once. Burger = 35 dollars. The drinks weren't bad. I had the yuzu margarita, which was light and refreshing. I also had the Hemingway highball, made wit rum, sparking grapefruit, cherry, and lime. They have an interesting variety, so I would be willing to return to Sip to try their more cocktail focused menu. Another TikTok overhype, but again, worth a try at least once. read more

The electric chicken is the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life (NOT A HIGH BAR‼). But it was mala flavored and super duper juicy and tender with super crispy breaded outside. Really well made. Although quite expensive. Enjoyed the gloves and self cutting with scissors. Drinks: sour apple apple sour - yuzu - coffee vesper - japanese high ball Honestly my rating of drinks is just a reflection of how alcoholic tasting they are. The vibes were super nice and cozy. Would love to try sip next time to see what the other drinks are like. Service was also great. read more

TLDR: Beautiful, intimate atmosphere in the basement level w/ creative concepts, but the pricetag doesn't align with portion size or overall quality..it was quite overhyped. Breakdown: We ordered several cocktails: 1) Tomato Tree ($24) 2) Strawberry Hotpot ($26) 3) Jamon & Cheese ($31) While each drink had a unique presentation & details, the portions were astonishingly small. The oversized ice cubes took up most of the glass for both the tomato tree & strawberry hotpot, leaving very little liquid. The portion was 60% ice 40% liquid, which i found it difficult to justify the price. I also was expecting more for the Jamon & Cheese drink since we paid $31, but it was pure hard liquor (I drank it all in 2 sips because of the small pour) and there were no garnishes and lack of attention to detail. For food, we tried two Volcano Rolls ($19/roll), Electric Chicken ($28), and finished with the Chestnut Date Miso Soft Serve ($22). Again, the concepts were interesting, but the portions were quite small & the quality of the was really mediocre. The Volcano Roll had a cool cigarette-inspired concept, but there was a fishy taste & it felt a underwhelming for the price. The chicken was decent, but not particularly different from the other fried chicken I've had. The best part of the meal was definitely the soft serve that was layered with miso, chestnuts, & dates. I would comeback for this specific dessert. Service was also great & our waitress was polite. Overall, this isn't a place I would personally return to. While the concepts & vibes are there, I've had stronger & better dining experiences elsewhere that offer more compelling ideas, better execution, & price points that feels more justifiable with the overall quality & portion sizes. read more

We loved every single drink we ordered here and my only regret is not ordering their food after looking at other peoples orders. They have a drinkable salsa with chicken chips served in such a unique way! They serve food between 5-10:30pm. Highly recommend that too, I just only knew this place for their drinks. We got really lucky and sat at the bar right away but the entire place was packed on a weekday night. Wagyu old fashioned: smooth and peanut buttery! Great for peanut butter lovers! I personally wish it had a sweet addition instead of the salty thin dried wagyu. Yuzu margarita: yuzu flavor was prominent and is perfect for a margarita. Fresh citrusy but I wish the shiso flavor was slightly more forward to balance the sour. Plum salt was a lovely match to the drink Tepache Mule: just tasted like fruity Moscow mule to me. Sun-dried daisy: one of my all time favorite cocktails in the world. It tickled my tastebuds with sweet, sour, savory all at once. So refreshing yet satiating! Highly recommend this for those who aren't fans of super sweet drinks We sat at the bar and the bartenders weren't as social but they served great drinks! The inside is dimly lit but is quite lively. Sip and Guzzle came highly recommended by my friends, and since I unfortunately did not get to visit SG Club in Tokyo (run by the same team), I knew I had to check this place out. We were unable to secure a reservation, so we decided to try the waitlist on a Monday night. We put our name down around 7 pm and got a text to come back in about 30 minutes, which was not bad at all. We ordered the Chinatown No. 5, Satsuma Creamsicle, Drunken Grandma's Apple Pie, and the Gimlet Over Rice. The Satsuma Creamsicle was dangerously good with a refreshing mandarin flavor and not overly sweet. The Drunken Grandma's Apple Pie was good as well and reminded me of an apple whiskey sour. The drinks were delicious overall, but they did feel a bit on the weaker side since I did not feel much after one drink, and I am usually a lightweight. The ambiance was intimate and quaint, and the service was fantastic. read more

This place essentially has two bars. Guzzle is the upstairs space, while Sip is the more intimate downstairs area, and each has a different menu. We made reservations for Sip. The ambiance was great and the menu was very unique, but unfortunately we didn't love the flavors of the drinks, especially for the price. Maybe we just didn't order the right ones. For two people, we tried: *Wagyu Old Fashioned (bourbon, peanut butter, wagyu beef): This tasted like a classic Old Fashioned, but the peanut butter flavor did not really come through. The wagyu beef was a fun and unique garnish, but overall the drink was just okay. *Nico's Negroni (negroni, matcha, pandan, cocoa butter): This sounded very interesting on paper, but the flavors didn't stand out much and it mostly tasted like liquor to me. *Electric chicken: Super crispy and delicious fried chicken. We enjoyed this more than the drinks. Overall, this is a fun spot to check out and a great option for a night out with friends or a date! Honestly one of my favorite bars and one of the best bars I've ever been to. They have both good food and good drinks. I couldn't recall what the names of our drinks were but they were all light, fruity and refreshing. They weren't too sweet either. They had a lot of different Asian themed drinks and snacks. We ordered the Hokkaido milk ice cream, the fried chicken and the mochi fry. All of the snacks tasted delicious. The type of milk they used for the ice cream was so creamy and not your typical tasting vanilla soft serve. The fried chicken came out hot, fresh, crispy and well seasoned. It had a little kick to it too! The fried chicken comes with gloves so that way you don't get your hands all messy when eating. Lastly, the mochi fry we ordered was delicious and so unique! The mochi fry had a bouncy, chewy texture and was cheesy! It came with a side of ketchup as well. I would highkey recommend ordering all the food items we ordered! Reservations are required. Sip & guzzle gets packed quickly but I would say it's definitely worth trying. They have an upstairs and a basement level. This is a lovely speakeasy and it's a shame that it's borderline too dark to enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I decided to treat a friend to a round and selected here as he's very much into Japanese culture. I was unable to get a reservation earlier in the week but secured one around midnight via walking up to the door. After a five minute or so wait, we were instructed to head downstairs to Sip (upstairs Guzzle is very much a BAR) and we sat at an open table for two. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately for us, we just missed the kitchen and it closed. I settled on a very strong Yakitini and unfortunately I can't recall what my companion ordered. Both really good and unique drinks that were very pleasing. Finally made it in for a weeknight reservation. Had so much fun trying different cocktails and foods. Favorite bite was the volcano roll and the pornstar mojito was such a fun drink. Our server knew the menu in and out and was able to describe stuff really well to us. We didn't love the sea scallop crudo but everything else was fantastic. The pork yaki is candied and will get stuck in your teeth but it tastes great. read more

Arrived at 3:30 for a 4 PM reservation because we had to secure one of the dozen Tavern burgers available at Guzzle. It was a rainy day and people started to line up around 3:45 - not sure if they had reservations or were planning to walk in. Was seated promptly at 4 and before we even got our water the server kindly asked if she should set aside a burger for us. The server also suggested my friend and I split one of the coveted Tavern burgers due to its richness, but we easily could've had our own. Honestly, this may be the best I've had all year. It was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Since we split the burger we also shared the electric chicken and addictive cabbage. Both were good, but not incredibly unique. In all, I would happily dine here again if only for the Tavern burger. read more

Came for after dinner cocktails at Sip. Sat at the bar, so got a front seat to all the action. Sip is much more serious, and cocktail focused, than the crazier upstairs Guzzle. Highly recommended if you're into interesting cocktails. Next time will try the more traditional cocktails at Guzzle. read more
