Been going here for over a year. Pho is decent (not the best, but pretty good for Corvallis food)but service has always been terrible. Today will be the last time I eat here due to getting a to-go order of two phos...pretty simple order that shouldn't take too long. Waiter said 20 min wait ...no problem, tipped and waited in my car. Came back in after 25 min just so I didn't seem as if I was rushing them. Other people were waiting there for their orders that had come in after me getting impatient. I Kept waiting for 10-15 more mins. Finally went up to ask, after the people that had ordered after me were getting their dinner. When asking, another waiter came back out and said the kitchen was just starting the pho and walked away. I waited until the first waiter came by that had taken my order just trying to ask again to see if that was true and if so to just cancel my order. The waiter became impatient with me, interrupted me and said that I had ordered at a specific time showing me his time stamp (40 min ago)treating me as if I was such a burden and was crazy to even think about asking about my food that I ordered and that I was out of my mind and such a nuisance. Food came out right after the waiter was becoming flustered. Wouldn't have been such a problem if the waiter had been professional and apologized about the food coming out so late. I get it, it can get busy and every customer expects your undivided attention, but I've been a waitress before for over 4 years and I never once treated customers like this place has. read more

I have to say it, I love Pho and Kim Hoa's Kitchen does a great job of making it. Set in an unassuming strip mall in North Corvallis, it more than delivers. Fresh vegetables, good meat, awesome broth and personalized service. You can't go wrong if you are in the mood for Pho. I've been to Kim Hoa's Kitchen many times, and I've always gotten the pho, but have tasted some other dishes which were also excellent. Looking forward to visiting again. -Adam read more

I give this place 1 star because of the horrible service more than anything else. The food was okay. Portions are enough to where you'll be just inside the realm of being satisfied, but nowhere near full. The prices are very reasonable though. The most you'll spend on a dish is $12-13, and that's for the high-end seafood dishes. The service, on the other hand, was some of the worst I've ever seen. A couple groups of Vietnamese guests were catered to much more than my wife and I were, and they totally forgot about bringing us our check after the meal. A very solid (and friendly) family owned restaurant. The P1 pho is as good as any you'll find in town (bean sprouts and basil available on request) and can be modified to exclude meatballs, etc.. Be warned that the regular size is huge. read more

Very disappointing special combination pho - watered down salty beef broth on the fatty side, with no hints of ginger, cinnamon, cloves or star anise infusion. You also don't get the traditional veggie accompaniments - no fresh basil, bean sprouts or jalapeno slices. Just a smattering of western cliantro leaves, diced green onions, fried diced garlic and white onion slivers. Skimpy on the beef slices and overcooked rice noodles made for a very disappointing experience. read more

I'm spoiled with having pho on every block back at home, so I'm a little sad that there aren't many options here in Corvallis. I ordered the regular size Special Beef Noodle Soup and it was pretty good. The broth came out really hot (which I love!) and had some good flavoring. The meat was kind of scarce and felt like there wasn't much in the pho. I also ordered a side of bean sprouts, but they said they didn't have any that day. I thought that was weird and made my pho feel kind of incomplete. Anyway, the food was decent and I'll probably come back again when I'm in the mood for pho. read more

Looked up a place for my vegan friend to be able to enjoy as well. Not only did they get us a table right away, but they accommodated our schedule (we were thirty minutes away from a movie). The food came out quickly, it was super tasty (soup, spring rolls, gyoza, YUM!). We requested the check and got it right away and we made it out in time for the movie. Highly recommended! read more

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. Try the bao if you haven't had a steamed bun filled with meat. Their pad thai is delicious. The employees are wonderful, honest, and friendly. It's hard to get them to make really, really spicy food, but you will be regaled with stories of one of the waiter's sisters and how she eats food that could kill normal people. My wife, who does not like spicy food, loves this restaurant. They cater to every appetite! read more

Their food is pretty good but service is consistently lacking. We've only gone a few times even though we live in the same neighborhood because of a previous poor experience. About 8 years ago we went with my parents visiting from out of town. The food and service were okay but when my father went to the counter to pay the check, the owner gave him a very hard time about paying with a credit card. They argued and he finally charged my father's credit card for the bill. Needless to say, my father never forgave the shop. I would suggest going with low expectations to not be disappointed with the service. Too bad since the food is pretty good. read more

my bf and I went there for lunch and the owner was rude, he didnt even greet us or service us. We had to go up to the counter to pick up our bill, whereas other customers were treated better than us. Was he prejudice? My bf said the food was terrible. We had the special beef noodle soup and my bf said the broth was so oily that he wanted to throw up right after eating, and he felt sick for the whole day. We also ordered the chicken salad and everything is unfresh, including the beef in the soup he said it tasted rotten. We will never go there again I think we would rather stay home and cook instant ramen, at least it tastes better. read more

I wasn't impressed with their Pho. Seattle and Portland have better Pho. It was too bland and honestly didn't taste like Pho to me.

I'm always a little bit suspicious of places that serve pan-Asian dishes, but everything we ordered from Kim Hoa's was delicious! I got the vegan pho - it was a big portion with excellent seasoning. I do wish I would have gotten a separate plate with the bean sprouts and other garnishings, but they were already mixed in to my liking. My partner got a pork dish, and we shared an order of potstickers. This will be our go-to Asian restaurant for dine-in or take-out. read more

First, the banh bao was AMAZING - soft, pillowy, and filled with succulent sweet-and-savory pork. And only $4.50 for two? My boyfriend and I both agreed that we could have ordered, and easily eaten, 3 orders of these and felt well satisfied. We did order entrees as well, however. I ordered the combo chow mein; my boyfriend got a noodle dish that was one of the specials for the night (the name completely escapes me at the moment). He felt his noodles were the tiniest bit bland; my chow mean was good, with nice fresh, crisp vegetables. We both agreed that the teriyaki chicken that came as part of the combo was the real star. It did take a little longer than we expected to have our order taken, and get our check, but the wait staff was friendly, and the food made it worth the wait. We're excited to return and try other things on the menu (but we'll always start with the banh bao!). read more

The service is fast and efficient, vegetarian choices are available, and they will hold the cilantro upon request. I recently ate at this restaurant and was especially pleased with my meal, which was the Flame Broiled Pork noodles. A problem I often find with this dish is that restaurants tend to overload the bowl with noodles, and skimp out on the vegetables and pork. However, what I found impressive about my meal here was that the majority of my bowl was meat and vegetables, with just the right amount of noodles to complement everything. I also liked how they put the fish sauce in the bottom of the bowl rather than on the side; it gave for a much better presentation, and I liked how the waiter mentioned it was at the bottom rather than me not discovering it until the end of my meal. The vegetables themselves were very fresh, and the meat was flavorful even before I mixed it in the fish sauce. The service was also pretty fast; even though most of the staff were younger, and this can sometimes spell disaster, I felt as if I was well taken care of. The only thing I didn't love about the restaurant was the aesthetic; the lighting was a little too bright and it kind of felt as if the owners wanted their customers in and out in a hurry (again, I'm only getting this off the décor and vibe, none of the workers made me feel like this). When I go to a restaurant, I prefer a cozier feel, but this is just my opinion since normally I'm with family or friends and prefer to stay a while. This place is perfect to get a quick bite or to-go order at, but not the best place to sit for any length of time. I hate to harsh on anyplace... but I call'm them as I see them. My wife and I have been searching for decent Pho since moving to Corvallis. The atmosphere at Kim Hoa's is funky but I never knock a funky atmosphere, some of the best food I've eaten was served in funky dives. There was a "help wanted" sign out front. I only mention this because the service was slooow. When your waitstaff is coming and going from the kitchen empty handed that makes for a long night. We kept our order simple, a salad roll and two bowls of Pho. The salad roll was tasty and the peanut sauce was delicious. The Pho was disappointing, I have never been to a Pho restaurant that does not include fresh basil, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeno peppers and lime with your soup - on the side. Apparently here you must request these items. The night we were there they had run out of bean spouts (pssst - Winco is right up the street guys) they brought my wife - upon request - 1 small lime wedge and 1 very sad looking sprig of basil. I had the beef soup w/ meatballs and my wife went with the beef soup w/o meatballs - both bowls looked identical including meatballs. The long and short was that the meatballs were cooked to the consistency of tire rubber and the soup in general was like a salt lick. I realize that Pho tends to be on the salty side but this was beyond that. It was as if someone had dumped 100 ramen noodle seasoning packets in the soup (something almost artificial about it). There were other tantalizing items on the menu and there was a steady flow of customers coming through the door so I'm guessing they must get something right. I would be willing to give this place another shot. Besides we're in Corvallis where our options are limited. read more

I've been here twice, both times I wasn't impressed. Both times, the waiter who took our order hit on me and my friend's girlfriends, making us all very uncomfortable. When I was ordering, I asked to get peanut sauce on the side because I like to dip my meat in it. I asked if they charged for it and they told me they did. I asked them how much I would get and I personally didn't feel like it was worth it so I told him I'll pass. 10 minutes later, I'm having a nice conversation with my girlfriend and my friends and he comes up to our table and asks me my race, which I thought was very random. So I tell him. Then he tells me "let me give you a word of advice, don't ever ask the price at a restaurant" and starts "giving me a lesson," completely cutting off my conversation with my girlfriend who had come to visit for the weekend. He goes on for about 10 minutes telling me how I "don't want to piss off workers at a restaurant" because they can mess with my food in the back. I was completely shocked to hear him say this. I am a college student and I need to know how much I'm paying for things. After telling me that he brought the food out and the whole time all I could think about was what they did to my food. It was easily the worst dining experience I have ever had and I was so shocked because I was nothing but nice to this guy. Never going here again. Ever. They also charge you for bean sprouts, basil, and lime. I have never seen any other pho place do that before. read more

Im sorry but I work here currently since april 2015 and nobody does anything to your food thats gross or disturbing.They care a lot. Everything is hand done. Even older ladies help perfectly stuff each eggroll then roll them, then seal them .theres also Cutting carrots, meatballs, egggrolls, hand cleaning everything all by a complete female staff for cooking and preping and i dont even see it all. It's all family based and the decorations are their personal things like photos everywhere and umm hello they have been there for 19 years so dont be harse. Have you ever thought that just maybe they dont have the budget to completely update the family buisness. They normally only get sunday off and they all work hard all day. No staff to switch except me and another host and dishwashers.like maybe two or three dishwashers.No breaks but to eat a light snack or meal throughout and whatever else and they work very well and treat me wonderful. I was hired on in april and work there and I talk to them about if they want to change a lot of things and they just cant or dont want to. Also if you arent happy about the portion, duh get a different size.or order something else .And keep in mind that they are bringing in their culture to feed your hungry ass. You chose to come eat there so be nice. We arent trying to disrespect your dining privacy by constantly bothering you. You dont understand I barely get a chance ever to drink a half a glass of water but yet im helping and working my ass off sweating and doing other things like constantly wrapping to go silverware, cleaning off everyone of your plates and bowls and cups and such and so on and so on...and cleaning and clearing your tables, and seating you, and getting your drinks and to go containers and I dont get tipped at all till the end of the month in my check once a month about seven to 14 dollars because im the last to get paid .my check is about 200$ or less a month plus the small tip amount which has never been over 20$. depending on how many people come in constructiom on roads whether and how busy we are.thats sad ! But yet I still come in to work really hard throw my back out, and their rules are very strict and persice and I pretty much do everything except answer phones cook your food and ring you up and bring you your food. So before you get all huffy and puffy and stupid and upset about your experience, we are people too who dont have a lot of money doing our best. You guys need to realize when you get mad and or rude, you are not fun to serve either. But we do it so you can eat. So be kind to them. The store has been there 19 years. We arent going to be perfect butwe try to be an attentive team. So chill or dont eat here. They don't want your negativity or rudeness in the restaurant. And neither do I when I go work for them. If you think it's so easy or we arent paying attention to you...why don't you come take over any of our jobs for a day. Especially here where everything to even adding three extra icecubes in a drink or having something not exactly to the line can be too much or too little and get you in trouble. So stop assuming and just be glad you are getting fed and attended to cuz we have bad days too.so chill or don't come at all. Much appreciated. read more
