This place is a hidden gem for unique fragrances in the area. I've only been twice because the Hareem Al Sultan perfume oil (10/10) I grabbed last year has over a 4th of the bottle left but I was looking for Lattafa Yara Candy to smell test. Unfortunately they didn't have it in stock but I'm roughly 45mins away from this shop so I was leaving with something. As always I was greeted when I came in, got my smells on and decided on riqqa. This smell is so warm and rich without being overpowering. It also lasts ALL day as I'm writing this from my bed and can still smell it on my skin. Perfect for the winter and ideal for layering with my EOS strawberry dream or vanilla cashmere lotion. I'm tammat edible, ok ! When I got to the front the cashier offered 10% off if you were willing to sign up for text alerts and in this economy I'm did just that. My bottler was $30 but came down to $29 and change after taxes and such. For a bottle that size with the staying power it has I would say it's worth it. A Fragrance Lover's Playground... If You Can Navigate It! I drove TWO HOURS to visit this place, so trust me when I say I was ready to smell all the things! And there was definitely PLENTY to smell. The store has a huge selection of Arabian perfumes, body oils, cosmetics, bakhoor and other fragrance goodies. If you love Arabian fragrances, there is a LOT here to explore. I especially loved the customized bakhoor experience. That was such a nice touch and probably one of my favorite parts of the visit. My biggest issue was the organization, or lack thereof. There were SO many perfumes, but it wasn't easy to figure out where anything was or how the fragrances were arranged. With such a massive selection, having the perfumes organized by brand, fragrance family, scent profile or even some type of clear system would make the experience so much better. Instead, I found myself feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to navigate everything. That said, the selection is impressive! They had plenty of body oils and Arabian fragrances that caught my attention, and fragrance lovers could absolutely find some gems here. I just wish the shopping experience made it easier to discover them. Would I return? Yes, especially for the bakhoor and the selection, but next time I'm coming prepared with a list of what I'm looking for because wandering around trying to take in ALL those fragrances at once is not for the weak! I enjoyed my first visit but it is a bit overwhelming. They have just about all things Arabian scent-wise and the oil counter is stocked. Im a gourmand lover so I ended up with vanilla addiction, epic voyage and the custom dark vanilla oil / smells incredible!!! The store is well stocked with so much to choose from. The combination of scents can be overwhelming for those with sensitivity and a lack of true ventilation but it was well worth the visit. Took a road trip here with a good friend who loves perfume. The area available to park was not very spacious. Looking from the storefront i was unsure what to expect. As soon as i entered i was amazed. The smell alone was simply amazing. I didn't feel like there was much help in choosing scents. There was such a huge selection that I didn't even know where to begin. The women at the oil counter was very helpful in allowing you to smell the different scents. The prices were ok. Not the best but, not the worse. The store was very exciting but, overwhelming to me. I was satisfied with my purchase choices. Honestly, social media influenced my decision to visit Khan El Khalili. The day I chose to visit was less than ideal - Valentine's Day. I was overwhelmed by the crowd, store location and its lack of parking. I walked away from the experience feeling underwhelmed without my desired oil (Egyptian musk). It is considered a specialty oil and I was not willing to pay $75. It seemed overpriced. On a positive note, the staff was super friendly and helpful. As most reviewers mentioned, I discovered them through IG. They had they famous Yara perfume. You have to get the dark pink bottle. They also have Chocolate Muk that ppl were raving about but it was too strong for me. They carry a lot hijabs and Abayas upstairs and cute hip belts so I can shimmy shimmy my hips on the dance floor.. They have a huge station for you to make your custom perfume oil. Could not have been more pleasantly surprised than to stumble upon this marketplace because of Instagram explore!!! At random i was scrolling and saw a video posted on IG by @amira.wya and I knew I needed to check it out. They have it all and for really good prices!! This place is also easy on the pockets. My friend and I saw this place in TikTok! We love perfumes so it was a perfect girls day for us! We arrived at a decent time and upon arrival it is VERY overwhelming. You don't know if you should start the front or the back of the store. We started at the back and work d our way to the front. There are so many oils to choose from, at some point everything started to smell the same. It was reasonably priced and I'm so glad I found some fragrances I had in my Amazon cart. They turned out not smelling the way I wanted them to, which was perfect! I ended up finding an oil that was great and getting the Yara perfume. I highly recommend for sure! Left with some air freshener and a new hookah got a friend. Please be sure if you buy the hookah to check the actual color inside the box. I thought blue meant it would have the blue hookah inside, however it was green. I called to have them hold the right color for me. Also they seem to run out of the popular flavors for the hookah, so keep that in mind. Everyone was accommodating and I came the end of the week to switch it out with no problem! Such a Wonderful shop & experience. I spent over an hour sampling fragrances & oils. I was a bit overwhelmed with the exceptional selection of so many fragrances. Truly hard to choose a favorite one or two or three. It was so nice to be able to actually smell so many fragrances that I've seen on social media and to try so many more I've never heard of. An added plus to the experience is the perfume oil wall. Soooo many to choose from. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They took their time to hear what I liked & gave several suggestions. Been coming here for years you can get frankincense, myrrh, even Sandalwood as well as oud you can also get coffee and tea sets here as well as backgammon and domino games. I spent an hour finding the lovely and fresh smelling perfume oil from a tester on display. I got home so excited to wear the perfume oil purchased in the store. Well, major disappointment! What i tested was not what I was given in my take home box. Smell profile is totally different, what I smelled was fresh and light. What I had in my box was smokey, orient and strong. I went back to the store to show the workers the bottle I choose and even mentioned the top being missing and faded, which is how I knew that was the one I chose in the store. Three employees told me that they all smelled fresh in the bottle they gave me. They also chimed in some nonsense about the tester smelling different because it has been opened many times. My favorite excuse was that the store smelled like incense, so I was not smelling it from the bottle?! So, cologne and perfume changes smell when opened!? I just went online and got the scent profile for the product (Top Notes: Anise, Coriander Middle Notes: Black current, Pineapple Base Notes: Amber, Musk). So, everyone did not smell smokey, musk?!!! I was the only one to smell an incense smell? Long story short, they refused to take it back, now I am stuck with this awful smelling oil. I will never go here again, and I will be reporting fraud to my bank. So disappointing, they had such good choices, I totally wasted my money. My favorite store in the whole wide world. They have so many different cool items that you can buy. Some of them are incense, hookah's, vapes, silverware, clothing, paintings, makeup, henna, perfumes, oils, burners, cups, furniture, jewelry, and so many more unique items. The owner is a very nice person and so are his employees they are always there to ask you about products or if you need any help. Very welcoming and always say hello to everyone. They will help you to your car if you have a lot of items and will pack the items so they are not damaged while you are driving home. If you visit this place I recommend you take extra than you planned on spending. Not because this place is expensive but becuause something will defiently catch your eye. The items you find in here you cannot find anywhere else. A major plus is this place is located by a few resturants so after youre done shopping you can go and get some delicious food. Speaking of location there is a lot of parking around you will not have to walk far or park far away. Unless it's magically super busy and everyone in the town is by Khan El Khalili you'll be fine. read more

This place is amazing. You feel like you are stepping into the real Khan el Khalili in Cairo! Except with out the noise and chaos. This place has everything you need when it comes to Middle Eastern/Islamic goods. They have a wide array of Islamic decorations that any Muslim home needs. Also they have middle eastern kitchenware like tea pots, coffee pots, cooking utensils, that are hard to find in the states, so you can make coffee or cook a meal like it's done in the old country. Upstairs they have a large selection of Islamic dress. This mostly consists of women's clothing but there is also a decent men's section. There they have a variety of thobes of different styles from various countries around the world. They also have a good selection of kufis different styles that are inexpensive. The only draw back was the keffiyehs. While they did have a wide array of colors they were obviously not authentic, most likely made in China or India. They also have a wide assortment of women's jewelry as well as religious trinkets such as prayer beads and the evil eye pendants. These all seemed to be fairly priced. They have a small section of Islamic books mostly consisting of Qurans. I wouldn't go here for the Islamic books as there are other places with larger selections. Lastly, they have the best selection Hookahs and shisha around. Don't waste your time getting ripped of by tobacco stores and shop here. They have everything you could possibly need. This morning an employee worked with me for 20 minutes helping me find the best possible water pipe in my price range. I told him I was looking for something quality but not to pricey. He must of brought out ten different varieties in my price range and explained the pros and cons of each type. It was really helpful. I could tell that he was interested in making sure that I was satisfied with my purchase rather than in making money of me. Which is a great change of pace. He also told me which accessories I would need to keep my pipe running well. I am very thankful for him. I highly recommend this establishment and will be back very soon. read more

This place is HUGE. If you're into middle eastern themes, you could probably furnish your entire apartment, stock up your entire kitchen, and even fill your wardrobe and jewelry box here. Oh, and of course, fulfill all your hookah needs. A straw camel greets you at the door as you enter into a cavernous space with a very large collection of hookahs, supplies, statutes, tea equipment, little furniture pieces that I couldn't even identify, decorations, jewelry, and everything else you could think of. The floor area itself is an open warehouse, but they've done a good job of separating out the sections. The second floor has clothing and head covers. I usually wander around the store while my husband is picking up our usual stockpile of shisha and coals. Even if you're not a smoker, this place is worth a visit just for the browsing value. We purchased a particularly large supply of shisha and coals, and asked if they offer any type of discount for large orders. Apparently they offer a discount for 12 or more tubs of shisha, but only to businesses. We failed in our bartering session this time, but perhaps we can wear them down next time! read more

Named for the renown market in Egypt, this is as good as it gets. Best spot for every hookah accessory (mya and dream acrylic hookahs) or high end shisha (fumari and starbuzz) in the area. They have a large selection of other goods and sometimes medjool figs and caftans but I have never explored these things. They also have a case of oil and herbs. I had been disappointed with buying hookah supplies from hookah lounges or cigar shops. Often times these stores had hookah as an after thought and would have a dismal selection. This is not the case at Khan el Khalili. They have a very large selection of hookahs, shisha, as well as hookah supplies (ie replaces hoses, replacement seals, etc). They have a great selection of Star Buzz shisha. I come here for all of my hookah needs and can not imagine going anywhere else. They also have a wide variety of other products such as home decor, jewelry, women's clothes, and belly dancing outfits. I can not comment on the quality/selection/price of these other items as I only shop here for the hookah. It is always fun seeing the other items though. The hours are wonderful too, open until 10pm most nights, making it very easy to go after work. read more

Awesome! I think this is the only place in DMV that sells Starbuzz at a reasonable price. This is a fun, relaxed environment for everyone (I am a scrawny white girl and I always feel very welcome). This place is the hilarious hybrid of an Egyptian tourist trap and a legit bazaar shop. Huge metal lanterns and pieces of artwork... right next to horribly tacky "ancient Egyptian" statues, cheap papyrus paintings, and rows and rows of hookahs. They have a pretty wide variety of items (though the depth of their stock is limited; don't like the piece they have on the floor? That's too bad, it's the only one they've got!) The staff was generally good at helping me find what I needed, though they didn't know exactly what they had; we found the piece I was looking for by accident, mixed in among other similar items. The prices are surprisingly reasonable; I walked in expecting to be gouged and I ended up not feeling the need to haggle at all. So if you need a very specific style of middle eastern metal ladle, or you just forgot to buy trinkets on your trip to see the pyramids.. this is the store for you. read more
